    We need more lawyers like yourself in SA. Racism in the work place is so harsh on people of color.

    I would recommend to document anything that goes on. A lot of companies feel uncomfortable when a person who is non white is in a management position. They were typically okay with you not being the boss, but when you get promoted all hell breaks loose. This is why it is super easy to sue. Because individuals do not know how to work well with ppl who are non white who are in a management position. You can build a case due to all the disrespect that happens. Document everything.

      You are exactly right. I wish I had done it 8 years ago with my employer.

      Alex Jeffizy, I’m sure you were discriminated against. It’s happening every hour and during the lunch breaks but do us a favor and edit your text please. It’s so easy to make mistakes writing these reviews.
      Awesome!

    I work in a university and today I was told by a white lady that I’m not allowed to stand in a certain area because me being there is freaking out people who walk by and make them feel uncomfortable.
    Not sure what action I’m supposed to take.

      If it's racially motivated, I would document a complaint via e-mail, specify racial discrimination, and retain a copy. Speak to an employment attorney as well.

    My boss has been given an ultimatum to either quit or look for a different position outside the department for discrimination and she doesn’t want to leave. She says she wants to be fired instead. She has given 30 years of service with the company. She was a nightmare to many employees who quit on her. What is best for her to do by law? I’m just extremely curious.

    I'm a caucasian woman whose 62, English speaking only and healthy. I've watched my employer hire and or transfer younger, Hispanic, Haitian or African Americans to positions that I'm qualified for over the past 8 years. If I say anything my (former) staffing manager said I was a fire starter. I didn't even know what that meant. I was simply pointing out that fact that others were interviewed for better positions while I've been looked over. There's A LOT of favoritism at my work place. Discrimination is a two way street. Thank you

      File an EEOC charge. If they fire you for filing, it would be retaliation. You would now have two charges against the company.

    Now that I'm older people treats me like I'm lesser then them, they treat me with not the same respect as they do to others who carries them self different than I do.

    So the local fire departments that have been hiring individuals based solely on color and gender (with absolutely no experience) would this be an example of what you’re talking about? 🤔

    • @conservativelatino5686
      @conservativelatino5686 3 года назад

      Do you have proof? How is that affecting you?

    • @davidwebb9752
      @davidwebb9752 3 года назад +1

      I just gave you proof. No experience and moved to the front of an extremely long line based on color or gender. Doesn’t effect me one bit (I’m not applying for a FF/medic position), but I know of numerous people who have been passed over just so a department can appear to have more diversity.

      @@davidwebb9752that's alright because if someone works on me or my family medically and they are not qualified or have any experience and were hired just because they are a person of color I will Sue the city, fire company and that individual you can guarantee that!!!!
