I love the way that you smiled when you knew the artist but the way you reacted to Bruce Springsteen and Steve Perry gave me the biggest smile. You are the sweetest man James with the biggest heart and my RUclips experience wouldn't be the same without you.
me too. We really believed we could fix it all, all the old hatreds, all the inequality around the world... there is something so unironic, so almost childishly sincere about this. Today we'd be too busy arguing about if this project was the wrong kind of ally to try, or arrogant of celebs to ask us to help, or a dozen other fake outrages.
Just yesterday I stumbled upon this article about the song is having a rebirth during the current pandemic: www.newsweek.com/we-are-world-has-surprising-rebirth-during-coronavirus-pandemic-35-years-after-original-release-1494080
I remember when they recorded this song...there was a note on the Door of the Studio that read "leave your ego at the door.."..all done with love .and you feel it....ya...your feeling it✌
This started with the Brits (Band Aid) and their song 'Do They Know Its Christmas' - you should react to that. American artists (U.S.A. For Africa) did this song. Canadian artists (Northern Lights) did 'Tears Are Not Enough' - another one to react to. There were songs put out by Australians, Germans, Dutch and on and on. It was an interesting time. The world coming together, through music to hep feed the hungry in Ethiopia.
I'd forgotten "Tears Are Not Enough." Now I have to go listen to it. Do They Know It's Christmas is another excellent one. And yes, I do remember the time. We did "Hands Across America" later on for the farmers here. My friend's family and I went to join the line for that one.
I learnt about we are the world through do they know it's Christmas . We had to sing do they know it's Xmas at school in December , before all this, and my teacher showed us this. Everyone silent crazy when Michael jackson came up.I didn't know who she was, and now I'm a huge fan!!
As a massive Country music fan I really appreciate Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers in this. Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece with so many artists with different musical styles!👍
You ARE a leader James, you are you. You are a man, a human being. Another soul walking, breathing and living in a crazy distraught world. We love your videos and follow your channel because you are honest, uplifting and kind. I wish there were more people like you bro. I know that there are people out there who have kind souls but we are drowned out by the negative people trying to bring us down. You are a light shining through this crazy world right now. Stay positive, stay safe, stay strong. We're with you brother.
I'm a subscriber to James's reaction channel as well. Like you're channel, I am absolutely certain that there are people from all different backgrounds including different political spectrums. I think channels like yours show just how much we all really do have in common and that we all really do want the same things. That's my hope anyway.
James, What a perfect choice after your video last night, about "politics", and those demanding that you shout out their beliefs. Your beliefs, (I think), are in music, and how music lifts us to a higher place, often sublime, total peace and unity. Never give in, never give up. You have more friends than the hateful gangs, and music lovers are special.
I think it's great that you're reacting again, knowing more of the artists. We sure could benefit from this message right now, anyway! Love your reactions. Keep on..
I'm in my 50's now and would want to tell you brother you hang in there and keep that positive attitude. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. You put your mind to it and stick with it and you will do your part. Great job.
"Thousands cried, millions cried, for those who were dying and for themselves. For whatever it was they had lost through the sheer crap of living they had rediscovered in a fleeting moment of clarity" Bob Geldof on Live Aid
Great stuff, my friend. Thanks! Hearing Stevie Wonder and Bruce Springsteen sing together gives me chills! Oh, BTW, just popping back in to say, Harry Belafonte is a legend. Next to him is Dan Aykroyd. (Strange but okay.) Also Quincy Jones is a freakin' genius!
Actually it was Quincy's associate producer and vocal arranger Tom Bahler. But I agree, the pairings and the sequencing was brilliant. Tina Turner w/ Billy Joel? Dionne Warwick and Willie Nelson? I never would've considered that, but they all worked like magic.
Your channel is a place of positivity and acceptance. A place where people can share the music they love and in doing that, realize that we are far more alike than we are different.
Hey James, i had suggested that you reacted to this again. i remember when you first heard it, you didn't know who a lot of the singers were. that was great..
So many singers of different genres of music come together to create an amazing song and hit all the feels, I was in junior high when this song came out and it still gives me goosebumps it’s a beautiful and relevant song 40 years later James you have a beautiful soul it radiates around you 💜
I'm 2 months shy of 43. I remember this song from when I was little and its still the greatest song I have ever heard. Those amazing harmonies took black and white voices and Stevie and my fellow Georgia Ray made the end of the song so amazing.
I have been a subscriber of yours for quite a while but have never commented. I just have to say, it’s lovely to see a young man of your age with such a big heart. It’s not like we are up against something brand new in this country per se. but it is more of an “ every day” occurrence and maybe due to social media sites, being thrown in our faces hourly. Your channel is amazing and enjoy watching your reactions to songs that I grew up with. They really were great a great time for music of all genres really and the talent! I have a couple daughters near and around your age and made sure I showed them am the bands I felt made a difference musically/lyrically. Sorry rambling...Love your channel and keep it up sweetie 😊.
I was 9 years old when this song was released. I cannot think of any other song that speaks to my soul and speaks to my spirit like this one does. It never fails, no matter how many times I hear it, I physically get chills and I am over come with emotion every single time!! Thank you for sharing this reaction video once again. I absolutely love your spirit my friend.
It was great then and it’s needed now. Thanks for replaying. So many great artists together. I can watch this over and over just enjoying those voices.
It’s all so brilliant, the contrasting voices woven so closely together showing us the truth, we are at our best when we are together. Bruce and the Wonder of Wonders together so perfect!!!
60 yr. old caucasian gramma here. I just found you today reacting to my fave meatloaf, I love that you loved as well! But more than that I really just appreciated your conversation so refreshing! I am subscribed! Keep showing us music through fresh eyes!
I just found your channel today. Yes, you are a leader and thank you for bringing some brightness to a sad world. We all need this great song to remind us of the strength we have together - and your spirited comments which give hope.
Tears of sadness for the past, and hopeful, joyful tears streaming for the future. We can change this world. you renew my faith that our world WILL change. Peace, love and Thanks.
I remember this song very well. The best artist of America singing for support for Africa. That country was suffering badly of famine. Now more than anything, we need to heal as our very own country stands to be divided instead of unity. Thanks for posting this video. It should show us to remember, remind ourselves that we, are the world. Choose wisely. ✌🏼❤🙏🏼🌎🌍🌏🇺🇸
Love your reaction to this. I turned 10 in 1980 and 20 in 1990. Golden age of music. I miss it. Try reacting to: Band Aid 'Do they know it's Christmas' - Pretty much UK submission for the same charity, 6 months before We Are The World.
I loved this song when it came out and I still love it today. It is so relevant to what is going on right now!! We all are the world and need to stand together just like the song says!!
Band Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas." The regular video is great. Even better is the live version they did at Live Aid -- Bono from U2, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Sting from The Police, George Michael, Freddie Mercury of Queen, Roger Daltrey of The Who, Elton John among others.
This song is definitely prove that people of every colour can work together in peace. And have fun, have respect for each other. It would be nice if the whole world would be like this.
Hi James! How are you feeling today? I hope well!! This was a great choice..thank you so much for reacting to some great music that is keeping me uplifted!! Love to you and your family!!❤✌ Your smiles infectious😁✌
Love your channel! I grew up in the 60-80s era and I love hearing the old tunes again. I saw this when it was first broadcast, a world event! No RUclips, no Instagram, no internet, just pure music. If you love this song, check out the Making Of video of this recording session, you’ll love it. Don’t have to review it, just do something special for you. Happy Fourth of July!
im a 63 yr. old guy, ive heard a lot of music in my life. ive been watching a lot of reaction videos lately. i really enjoy your reactions, keep up the good work.
Wow! So much talent here. It’s crazy how this song is so relevant to what’s happening in the world right now. Sometimes celebrities get a bad rap from the media but this was done in such a positive, classy & positive way nobody could bring it down ♥️
so glad to finally see someone from this new generation that sees the big dam picture,, and pick up where we left off in the 80s, and see some one from this new generation care enough for others to carry the torch of love , freedom, and happiness in this country,,, congrads my friend for being one of the few soldiers that is willing to continue the work in this world.
I think this time it meant more to you because you now know more of the singers involved. I grew up with these folks. They were my music world when I was coming up. I know their voices and songs as well as my own. You were meant to do these reactions so you would know them too. only 900 plus songs? There are still wayyyyy more for you to experience. Hold on for the ride because the music I've known all these years was just magical. The talent unsurpassed by any imagination. Some have passed but the music still lives. Others are still here but the music (thank you God) is still here. You need to react to more Bread, Styx, and a host of others. Start with those two and we'll keep ya supplied as need be. Have fun and enjoy!
Info,They wanted Prince on this song but he said no but I’ll write a song for the album instead. The song is called 4 The Tears In Your Eyes. Then people criticized him for not being on this song so he wrote another song called Hello which he basically was saying y’all can kiss my ass.First line being “I Tried to tell them that I didn’t want to sing but I’d gladly write a song instead “
Being a gentle and caring person pores out of you and that is what brings people to you.
Absolutely......
I think you'd be a great dad
Agree 100%
Thank you! This man is a beautiful soul💚
It sure does my friend.
That Stevie and Bruce duet is pure gold! So much passion in their singing!
I wish Steve Perry would have gotten some of the parts Bruce sang
They called that fire and ice back in the day
Is true
I love the way that you smiled when you knew the artist but the way you reacted to Bruce Springsteen and Steve Perry gave me the biggest smile. You are the sweetest man James with the biggest heart and my RUclips experience wouldn't be the same without you.
It was great to hear Bruce singing harmony so beautifully. We're just used to his gravelly rock star solo voice.
Young adults and kids should hear this. The song is 35 years old and still resonates.
Now more then ever
I cry like a baby every time I hear this. Since the day it was released.
Me too Heidi

The 80's. My favorite time in history. When I actually liked celebrities.
Yeah, celebrities are just politicians, saying whatever they think will get people to vote for them (buy their stuff) at this point. :/
I agree. 80s were the BEST
