In the late 80s almost every boy was in love with her. I was just looking for new footage of her here on RUclips. Oh my god, she's still an incredible beauty at 60.
Absolutely. She was gorgeous here at the time of this vid and still is today. Always made my heart ache even when I was 15 years old back in the 80’s, lol.
It's honestly not hard to understand why the label was pushing her as the "lead" of the group, even though they were an ensemble (which in turn caused the tension that lead to the band's breakup). They were all immensely talented and beautiful women, but Susanna just had that little something extra. A powerful voice, (packed into a tiny frame) and the camera absolutely loved her. It's unfortunate the band fell apart over it, and it sounds like Hoffs was caught in the middle and didn't realize what the label and industry were doing, but there was very much a reason why she was getting the push.
First, congrats on getting close to your goals! Second, her voice is beautiful and she was the most beautiful women I'd ever seen when I was in H.S.! Peace, brother!
"It gets me. I fall in love quick." Imagine being 20 when this song first came out. You think she's the most beautiful creature you've ever seen. And then that sound comes out of her. You're not alone, dude.
Ah the Eighties...! I wish I could go back in time, still knowing what I know now (yes, I know that's a cliché), because my life was so difficult during that decade I simply did not appreciate it for the wonderful time it was... In hindsight, though, the Eighties (and the Seventies) were absolutely brilliant, with wonderful music and wonderful people who are now all dead and I just didn't appreciate at the time how lucky I was to be alive then.
They have some great songs: "Walking Down Your Street", "In a Different Light", "Manic Monday", "If She Knew What She Wants", "In Your Room", "Going Down to Liverpool".
Definately "Going down to liverpool" & "If she knew what she wants", but i would also toss in "September Gurls", a chance to hear Micki Steele do lead vocals
The thing about these girls is that they really had talent. They played their own instruments. Each of them sang lead vocals on their various songs. As others have said, check out: • Walk Like an Egyptian • In Your Room • Manic Monday
I love this song and I am SOOOOO happy that I subscribed ages ago but helped you get to the 60K you're at right now. You are so awesome to watch dear! PLEASE keep up the same energy you have always had love!! You're definitely my favorite reactor ya know? But just know that "Eternal Flame" is like one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES...PERIOD! GOD BLESS YOU SIR!!!!
Love your reaction. It's the same one the people of younger generations always have who have never heard this magnificent song. Jaws just drop to the floor. Susanna Hoffs, now in her early 60s can still sing the hell of this song. There are a number of her live performances over the past few years that demonstrates this. And, as others have said, the woman is still absolutely gorgeous. Film director Jay Roach, Susanna's hubby, is one very lucky guy.
Yes, their cover version of Hazy Shade of Winter is brilliant. They have many great original songs though, so JB will have to put together a long list of Bangles songs to react to. ;)
Andy Jakesch I was just getting to say the same thing- these gals were pretty talented. Leave it to management/ recording buffs to single out Suzanna Hoffs as the main lead( as it was shared) and causing a rift in the band. Same BS they pulled with Ann Wilson and Nancy due to Ann’s weight . Just let these artist make their music and collect your check- and leave everything else alone.
Classic tune … so Beautiful! This was played on MTV all the time when it was released. I love female singers too. Linda Ronstadt, First aid kit, Whitney Houston are some of my favourites.
I've unsubscribed from all reactors but you. You are the most sincere person out there. If you want goosebumps give the band "Stryper"a try. Their song "Together As One" will blow you away. His range is out of this world. God Bless. Thank you for all you do.
Amen. I fell in love with the brunette in about 15 seconds the first time I watched this. If you are over 50, you may remember Bernadette Peters (a true blonde-haired angel), She reminds me of her.
In Your Room and Hazy Shade of Winter are both fantastic...gotta love Suzanna Hoffs. And I did...cus I was thirteen when this song came out and it was the era of MTV when they actually played music videos. Hard not to be a 13 year old and find her attractive.
Underrated?? They were one of the BIGGEST acts of the 80's with many hit singles..many of which are still played on today. Not sure where they are underrated when the EXACT OPPOSITE is true!
Thank you for this. Hazy shade of winter is another good one and I'll set you free is wonderful: 'I remember eyes that shined as they looked so hard back into mine. Now it's just a memory so I'll set you free'.
Always adore your reactions. This song always makes me emotional. Its beautiful. If she knew what she wants is my favorite of theirs. Please can you react to that one. (also Manic Monday which was written by Prince) Thank you xx
I grew up in the 80s and The Bangles were one of my main favorites. The songs "If She Knew What She Wants", "Be With You", "I'll Set You Free", and "Something to Believe In" are my favorite ones by them.
Their vocal harmonies are so perfect and these women played and composed their own stuffs i was lucky to see them playing live ! My fav is the bassist Michael Steele
Susanna Hoffs co-wrote this song. Super talented band. They inspired me to pick up a guitar and want to play it. Definitely need to check out: ‘Hazy Shade of Winter’, ‘Hero Takes a Fall’ (Susanna wrote this too), ‘Walk Like an Egyptian’ and ‘Manic Monday’.
Susanna Hoffs has such a beautiful, clear voice. I've always loved her. The Bangles did an excellent cover of a Simon & Garfunkel song, called Hazy Shade of Winter. You should check it and the original out.
"I fall in love quick". Awesome comment, I understand that reaction. I felt that way about so many female vocalists. Olivia Newton John, Patty Loveless and several others
My brother, the reason I subscribe to your channel is you're an old soul. You genuinely and honestly appreciate what we were blessed with back in the day. The Bangles were an all girl band and were phenomenal. Now if you can listen to Wilson Phillips. These are the daughters of the Beach Boys. Great voices bro.

JBLETHAL, Here's a lady from Madison, Wisconsin who never really got her due here in the states, but did very well over in Europe..:( I learned of her way back in 1973 and fell in love with her beautiful voice, I think you'll enjoy her as well.. Hi JB! Thank you for reacting to this! It's a beautiful song! I have been a subscriber for a little while and I just want to that I have a LOT of respect for you! You are a sweet, caring young man and I really appreciate that you DON'T swear on your channel! This old lady from Down Under is a fan as well as a subscriber! Thanks again! Greetings from Australia!
Their first big hit I remember was "Manic Monday". I saw them when they did the college circuit, and Suzanne Hoff's eyes were just so captivating. All girl group, and I was struck too by the drummer and bass player -- they were all good musicians. Two other all girl groups in the same era are the GoGos (I saw them too -- I worked spotlights at our college theater and interviewed both groups for our radio station), and Wilson Phillips. A decade later came 4 Non Blondes -- their breakout was that they were an all lesbian group (see "What's Up"). In the same era as 4 Non Blondes was the Indigo Girls (you gotta check out "Gallieo"). Another fantastic song by the Bangles was their cover of Simon & Garfunkle's "Hazy Shade of Winter". All 4 ladies shine on this one.
The Bangles didn't have a lead singer. they shared vocal duties, like Beatles. On their Debut full length album, different light, Hoffs only sang 3 out of 12 songs. Vicki Peterson sang 3, Micheal Steele and Debdi Peterson each song 2, all four sang on "let it go" and everyone but Debbi sang on "Walk Like An Egyptian". Hoffs only got singled out because she was the prettiest. All members are credited with "lead and backing vocals" in the credits.
Proud of you bro, well done on 60k subs! been with you about 6 weeks now..I'm watching from South Africa, saw Queen here live when I was a teenager..Love your channel
"Walk Like an Egyptian," "Manic Monday," In Your Room," And so many others. They are a great band XD. You won't hear many with them singing individually. Susanna Lee Hoffs is the lead singer of this group. Debbie Peterson sang lead on two of their songs, but most of them were sung by Susanna with the others backing her. Susanna has a huge voice for such a small woman. She was the shortest and daintiest of the group. :)
Susanna Hoffs is one of the most perfect things the universe ever created...

all of us had (have ) a crush on her
Yup!!! Still do 😀
I've got to tell you man, every guy I had a crush on the lead singer back in the day. She is so cute and her voice was so sweet.
I think she is 60 or close to it now and still drop dead gorgeous
Absolutely. She was gorgeous here at the time of this vid and still is today. Always made my heart ache even when I was 15 years old back in the 80’s, lol.
Can't deny that, but Micki Steele was my favorite
Michael Lynch Everyone did, male or female, gay or straight
Yes, she was so hot!!!!
I just love to watch your face, priceless. Don't ever change from the authentic young man that you are, we need more of you. ❤
She's 61 now and still looks incredible
Agree. She's so beautiful!!!
I recently saw her in a live chat with John Taylor (Duran Duran) and she looked amazing and seems such a lovely lady
meanwhile her former bandmates look like radioactive monsters

"Walk Like An Egyptian" is a fun song by the Bangles.
Tony Blackwell No, that was “Manic Monday”
"In Your Room" is a good one, too.
They hated it! :P
trust me bro, you ain't the only guy who's fallen in love with Susanna Hoffs and her voice. She was something else back in the day.
It's honestly not hard to understand why the label was pushing her as the "lead" of the group, even though they were an ensemble (which in turn caused the tension that lead to the band's breakup). Yes! Do Manic Monday! For a little fun after the sad ones...
I think Prince wrote that song! So 80s, I love it.
@@monicamad1285 He did indeed. I loved Manic Monday long before I got into Prince. Then found otu years later why I obviously loved it.....

Or Walk like an Egyptian...Something fun!
While it wasn't a huge hit, my favorite Bangles song was their cover of Jules Shear's "If She Knew What She Wants." I bet you'd like it too.
That is a very good song. But I think my favorite might be September Gurls
If she knew is my favorite, too. She's done solo stuff and she's good. She's sworn beautiful songs. Very talented woman
Yup Yup. "If She Knew" is a good one.
I agree with you . . . If She Knew What She Wants is a masterpiece!

The Bangles were the incredible. They had the most beautiful voices. 🥰👏
