Mike was reciting "Jabberwocky", a nonsense poem from Alice in Wonderland stories. It's about a boy who slays a horible monster called the Jabberwocky by cutting off it's head. So mike was announcing that he is planning to cut off the head of the Gerhard family.
5:17 Mike is quoting Jabberwocky by Lewis Carrol: ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. “Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!” He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought- So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back.
Karl Weathers' attempt to barricade a door with a bench on the wrong side of the door is a nod to The Dude's absurdly ineffective chair barricade in The Big Lebowski (1998).
The limited edition Scotch he made with Lagavulin is pretty great too. Granted the distillers get most of the credit but he chose which of their barrels to mix to make it.
This season is just on fire with the number of quality villains and they are all completely different and it never feels like overkill, just perfectly balanced out. Really adds hugely to how riveting and tense it is. Love the reaction, I can't wait for the next 4 episodes.
Never mess with crazy, and Peggy is all kinds of crazy 😅 Turning the tables on Dodd and crew in her hoarder basement is delightful. Dodd seriously underestimates women and it bites him hard.
Sisyphus is the Greek story of a man punished to roll a giant boulder up a hill for eternity. Hades punished him because he cheated death, just like Ed did.
and albert camus book girl was reading was about how myth symbolizes absurdity of human condition and how to exit in that condition. hence existentialism.
You may or may not know by now, but the actor who plays bear is Australian. He made his early screen appearances on a Melbourne music TV show in the 90s called Recovery. I suppose he had an immediate cult following, if you will, for his rather understated character (I don't think he ever spoke). Funny that.
Honestly, I think they should watch Season 4 next, given its significant connection to this season, in terms of the Kansas City mob. Season 3 is pretty isolated and can be watched out of context from these others; its one connection to any of the other seasons is fairly superficial.
I love this episode, it’s hard to say one or two episodes is my favorite. So many cool aspects in this series. Noah Hawley is a mastermind, everything he does is amazing. You guys will love LEGION. He made this season of Fargo and then the first season of the LEGION series
The ironic, over arching joke about Dodd is that in his own way, he's just as dumb, klutzy, overconfident and ridiculous as his little brother Rye. But while Rye knew he was a little prince and was desperate to make himself bigger, Dodd assumed he was a king and thought his army/d**k was bigger than it was! Sure he made his first kill when he was a little kid and he is a tough guy. But you notice he's at his best only when people don't take him seriously (like at the donut shop) or when Hanzee's backing him up. But without Hanzee, he goes in with two armed men, his fancy German pistola and his cattle prod. Result: he accidentally shoots one of his men dead, loses another one to a falling sink and gets zapped by his own Phallic cattle prod by a Beautician he probably wrote off as a blonde bimbo!
This show captures the spirit of the Coen brothers: stupid people doing stupid things. There's a reason why criminals get caught in real life. Not everybody is a criminal mastermind, mistakes are made all the time. People is sloppy, specially if you are a "normal person" mixed in some ugly business. Peggy being in denial makes sense.
Carl was the MVP of this episode. I remember watching when it aired & how much I wanted to give Nick Offerman a big bear hug (no pun intended) for saving everyone's collective ass. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙
Mike is quoting Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll, it is a nonsense poem. All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. Carroll wrote the book, Alice in Wonderland, aka Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865).
What I like about Peggy is that even though she's a psychopath without remorse, she's very bright. She acts like she's oblivious to the situation but she's very aware and able to adapt to the changing situation to survive. She on her own is well capable of handling these dangerous situations. It is Ed that seems to be struggling to keep up.
She's laser focused on her own self interest and has no concern for how her actions affect others - that doesn't necessarily make her smart, it just makes her blindly determined to get what she wants
If you're interested, you can mark down Jeffrey Donovan as the starring actor of the tv show Burn Notice. He's way more competent in there than he is here as Dodd. :)
At 7:32 why did it say wrong after he said a lawyer isn’t going to save you from the geiharts? Does that mean that a lawyer can defend you if you get involved with the mafia?
Love Peggy yet? 😁 I love this episode. I didn't watch whatever NBC show he was on so I didn't know him before, but I came away from this episode thinking Nick Offerman is a top tier actor. That performance at the station was spectacular. I think that Dodd has finally met his match in Peggy. I'll talk about that more later. Ed's problem is that he should have known Peggy was too much for him. She clearly had dreams and settled for him. She never meant to be a housewife. He actually doesn't listen to her at all. Everyone is expecting her to be the good little wifey and it's not really fair. I can't wait to see your reaction when the Gerhardts and Kansas City bumrush the seminar and end up giving up their lives of crime to become actualized after hearing the lectures. Boy did they massacre the free donuts and coffee tho. 😮 🤭😉
May I suggest skipping straight to Season 4 after finishing this one? Given that it delves more into the background of the Kansas Ciy mafia, it might be more beneficial to watch it while this season is still fresh in your minds. It shouldn't impede with your eventual viewing of Season 3, which is the show's most standalone season (so far); its connection to any of the other seasons is fairly superficial.

Karl Weathers' attempt to barricade a door with a bench on the wrong side of the door is a nod to The Dude's absurdly ineffective chair barricade in The Big Lebowski (1998).
There are lot of nods to the Coens Brothers' work within the series.
Karl and Sonny are basically Walter and Donny
Nick Offerman is so goddamn awesome in anything he does.
mvp this episode
The limited edition Scotch he made with Lagavulin is pretty great too. Granted the distillers get most of the credit but he chose which of their barrels to mix to make it.
@@fakecubedI remember the "ad" 😄
That weird stuff Mike Milligan was saying was from the poem Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll.
This season is just on fire with the number of quality villains and they are all completely different and it never feels like overkill, just perfectly balanced out. Really adds hugely to how riveting and tense it is. Love the reaction, I can't wait for the next 4 episodes.
Peggy is in her element in the basement.
Never mess with crazy, and Peggy is all kinds of crazy 😅
Turning the tables on Dodd and crew in her hoarder basement is delightful. Dodd seriously underestimates women and it bites him hard.
I was around in 1979. And I think my dad had an exact duplicate of Carl's whole outfit, especially the jacket.🤔😆
Sisyphus is the Greek story of a man punished to roll a giant boulder up a hill for eternity. Hades punished him because he cheated death, just like Ed did.
Sisyphus is from Greek mythology AND episode 3 (of this season) was titled "The Myth of Sisyphus".💫

15:26 "what are you talking about? i don't know what's going on." 🙂
spot on

Great reaction!! Can't wait for the next episodes, you'll be blown away in my opinion, You both do a fantastic job with all your reactions
Great timing, watching Fargo now. By the time you finish Season 4. Season 5 will have finished airing all the episodes.
Honestly, I think they should watch Season 4 next, given its significant connection to this season, in terms of the Kansas City mob. Season 3 is pretty isolated and can be watched out of context from these others; its one connection to any of the other seasons is fairly superficial.
They should watch them in order they came out even when season 4 is more connected to this season
Did you catch the mid credits scenes? They're worth going back to, if only for some of Offerman's best lines.
I love this episode, it’s hard to say one or two episodes is my favorite. So many cool aspects in this series.

OUT OF MY WAY, TOOL OF THE STATE!

Ed's recital with Lou is about the myth of Sisyphus.

Yes!!
More crazy shit in the world of Fargo!
Be sure to check out Season 5 on November 21st.
They have go through seasons three and four first.
When I first saw this I thought Charlie Gerhardt became Lorne Malvo.
we learnt the Jaberwocky in school..kinda hard to forget...
Love Nick,in 21 jump street

Season 5 is a must.
It's great that Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst are now married in real life.
I havent watched season 4 yet, so im gonna try to get caught up.
After you finish the seasons , ..you need to look into ,all the connections between all the players throughout the years

She is constantly in total denial of the situation is more like it.
She’s no Swango, though!
She's laser focused on her own self interest and has no concern for how her actions affect others - that doesn't necessarily make her smart, it just makes her blindly determined to get what she wants
She's actually a realist trying to have hope. She's no dingbat.
no one is up to the level of Swango...no one@@mobiusbelts3607
If you like Hanzi now, you're gonna absolutely love him in Reservation Dogs
If you're interested, you can mark down Jeffrey Donovan as the starring actor of the tv show Burn Notice. He's way more competent in there than he is here as Dodd. :)

Because his lawyer DID save him (& everyone else in that police station). Carl was the MVP of this episode.💫
Dod is crazy
When y’all gone do the other seasons of true detective
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😊 Can't wait for your reaction to....
MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!

Hi Mr and Mrs Schmidt Gotta recommend a great movie everyone seems to have forgotten about Ransom Mel Gibson 👍
Certainly a great movie that has been forgotten!
Looking old
You both do not know some names of characters even when you have seen 6 episode already
