I ordered a Mini 3 Pro but then cancelled the order and stretched to the Mini 4 Pro for these reasons: 1) 360 degree obstacle avoidance gives a lot of peace of mind to fly in more situations 2) Better wind resistance, same reason 3) Much stronger signal, especially with CE in the EU 4) DLOG is easier to grade and gives higher dynamic range 5) Other nice to haves like 4k100p, activetrack360, things like internal storage for that 1 time you forgot to put the MicroSD in.
The 3 Pro is still a fantastic drone, but those are some really meaningful differences that I think are probably worth the price. Now as for the controller, I actually opted for the RCN2, as coupled with an iPhone 15Pro you get faster app responsiveness, 4x brighter display, better battery life (even if your controller powers/charges your phone), faster GPS acquisition, ability to use 3rd party helper apps and a more portable controller for travelling (just don't forget to set up a focus mode to automatically put your phone in do not disturb when you launch the DJI Fly app). As for the convenience, I timed it takes ~10 seconds to insert the phone and launch the app, which is about how long it takes for the drone to acquire GPS so it adds no additional time when setting up.
I totally get those pros that the 4 has over the 3. And if they are worth the extra money for you, 100% go for it! One thing though, the Mini 3 Pro also has internal storage, just a bit less than the 4.
And regarding the controller, again it's personal preference. I personally wouldn't want to go back to the phone controller. But if it works for you, that's great!

@@SightseeingStan Thank you for the correction and great video. I remember flying my Spark in the Alps and back then the controller connection was Wifi, and my iPhone 6s at the time shut off due to the -7c temperature. The drone was about a mile away, that was a panic inducing moment that made me think maybe a built in screen is a better idea!
With that said, the fact the controller powers your phone now and the 15 Pro has a much nicer 2,000 nits screen, you actually get a more enjoyable experience, especially in direct sunlight. But both have advantages/disadvantages as you say personal preference plays into it too, the RC2 also has those 2 custom buttons on the back which unfortunately the RCN2 is missing.
Wind resistance is the same.... your only missing on O4 and 360 OA
I sent my mini three pro for repair and it shipped delivered and now I am unable to locate it so went back to DJI logistics team for a answer

Mini 4 pro image quality is a huge leap, HUGE leap. Dynamic range is off the hook.

heard complaints about the 3 pros range in the EU, with it barely making 500m in low congested areas. be interested in peoples experience
