Your experience matches mine exactly! Perfect summary, and the great support from DJI is also important to mention. So many useful firmware updates. The only things I'm missing are obstacle avoidance at 4K 60 and waypoints. Mini2 is also great but video quality sucks - especially at low light.
Man you guys are nuts- mini 2is still amazing for most shooting days with it's default color profile. Its low.light isn't great but you can still do pro rated stuff with it. Better then no drone
@@Matanumi I also own the Mini 2, and yes, I love it and agree that the M2 is a nice little beast. However, for me, video quality also in low light, is important. And in this respect there is a big difference between the M2 and M3P. I also enjoy OA and the RC with the screen.
Hey Shawn I’m curious about lifespan of the mini 3 pro. I’m getting close to 300 kilometers flown. Is that a lot? Is that a little? Batteries seem great still. Any info or your experience on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks
So far, the Mini 3 Pro is the only one of my three that's actually been used this year. It lives in my camera bag full time. My Autel Lite+ crashed for no reason last summer, so I'm kind of gun shy to use the replacement they sent me, and my Nano+ is just so darned inconvenient to use compared to the M3P it hasn't been in the sky for even longer. About all the Nano+ has over the M3P is low light performance.
The tech is really getting good in the these drones. I hope our sill government does not ban them! And looking forward the next version of these as that is when I'll upgrade my existing drones.
For me, the dji mini pro 3 would be the ideal drone to have in my arsenal as its performance would be regulated in short range for real estate as opposed to film making.
I bought a mini2 -3 years ago then I bought Mavic 3 classic but didn't unbox yet it.. I am watching your reviewing and I was attracted to have Mini 3 pro.. so amazing this drone I will buy it later even I got already Mavic 3 classic
Would you suggest me switching to it from my mini 2 with the prime day deals ? I really like the mini 2 for the stuff I do but this video does kinda make me want to upgrade. Do you think it’s worth it ?
Hey thank you so much for your extensive reviews. I would really appreciate you testing the goggles integra capabilities of the mini 3 some more. E.g. is the mini 3 capable of close proximity flight with the wide angle lens and the integra? Meaning should I get it in conjunction with the avata. What is the latency between mini 3 and integra ? 150ms like rc1 controller or 40ms like avata and integra? Thank you so much.
Thank you for the well presented and concise review. Being a complete novice wondering which drone to purchase here in the UK, this video ticked all the boxes.
Thanks Shawn! I bought one last summer based on your videos and have not regretted my purchase. It is a great drone! Very nice long term review of the Mini 3 Pro.
Fantastic long term review. Looking at buying it this week to replace my mini 2. I had a question about the controller options. There are some sales on right now but I'm torn between the old style controller and the new video screen RC. Can you see a strong argument for one over the other?
Love my Mini 3 Pro I bought it with the RCN1 controller because of the range issues with the RC I eventually will get the RC but I am VERY SATISFIED WITH THE RANGE!!....Much better than my Mavic Air 2 (occusync 2)....Range is GREAT in urban areas and even better in open areas here in Colorado at high altitiude!
Interesting because there's many people saying there getting better range with there mini 2 and mini 3 standard and they both have occusync 2. There's a couple vids were people have flown there mini 3 base to 8km. Strange your getting waaaaaay better range with the mini 3 pro than most😉
Hello Sean. One question please. I'm going to buy my first ever drone and i'm looking into this one (although i'm going a bit over my initial budget), but i'm wondering if i should wait until the mini 4 pro is released so that i may get 3 with a lower price. Should i wait or just go for it now?
I’d get this now the 4 probably won’t be out for the next 1.5-2 years. This is still relatively new and DJI drones rarely go on sale even when new versions come out. I’m planning on getting this later this year and upgrading from the original mavic mini
Thanks for that review Shawn. Can I ask you about wide angle DJI lens on M3P? Ive watched your previous wide angle vid and checked the DJI forum, but no help with this: With DJI made wide lens on my M3Pro, and viewing thru Goggles 2 & with Motion Controller 2, each time I make even the slightest turn, i get a kind of distortion. Not the expected and normal barrel effect, etc, but rather like the view is suddenly much lower resolution, or like when your Goggles2 first begins to get a weakened transmission signal. As soon as i come out of the turn, Im instantly back to a clear picture. This is, btw, during normal/full levels of RC transmission rates according the the bars and the mbps speed in the bottom right of the Goggles 2 screen view. I need screen view clarity on turns because alot of my flying is creeping thru the woods (at 4 to 10mph.), and i need to see those ghost branches and small leaves, let alone zombies and vampires. I thought maybe this distortion or lack of resolution is a limitation to any wide angle lens, but then i hooked up my avata and flew...holy moly it has perfect clarity on turning anyway as i creep thru same woods and as i then fly fast over them. Is there any way, with different lens brands/companys, or different drone settings, or whatever, that I could get better clarity on turns for that live screen view M3P set up that Ive described? Thanks for any advice.
For range use skyreat antenna range extender or the booster from drone valley. Not sure which is better. For longer battery use master airscrew propellers. It wont fit the single drone case but i cut it out.

To tell you the truth, I’m not 100% sure, but I would have to say that no because they’re usually custom formed for the specific shape. Now, of course, a lot of it has foam, and you might be able to do some modifications. But your best to look for one designed specifically for the mini 3

I’m doing really well thank you for asking. Yes you can use the focus track select an object. And then using spotlight, you can fly the drone around in any manner and the camera will stay locked on your subject. It can be a person or a stationary object.
The Mavic 3? It’s a great drone, but very expensive. It’s price is out of reach for many. It really depends what you needed a drone. It is far superior. But it’s heavier and bulkier.

My avata plays fine, the mini 3 pro plays fine when using the rc-n1 controller. We both have older computers and were shooting in 2.7k60fps 264 codec. I had a thought maybe the goggles had the codec wrong so we both changed to 265 codec and they play! I have tried to reach out to dji but they don't seem to understand what I'm telling them.
Unfortunately, I can’t help you there. I only use an iPad so I’m not quite sure about PC playback. Hopefully another viewer will have an answer for you.
I got this great drone last August and the great Mavic 3 just this past December. Love both! Also have the RCN1, RC and the RCPro controllers! My favorite one is the RCPro since the screen recording is amazing in HD! But also love the RC and RCN1 which also has nice iPhone HD screen recordings! I like to put my RC one for active track since its lighter. I have an eBike mount for my RC however I don’t like the screen recordings as much on the RC since it’s 720p however it’s still good. I plan to get the Avata, motion controller and Intégra Googles next Fall which will create an amazing FPV type flying experience which I want to develop in my areal videography! Surprisingly I managed to fly my new Mavic 3 12 kilometers away and back this past May with my RCPro controller which I believe has much better signal than last fall due to recent firmware updates! Amazingly and happily surprised since I thought that the RCN1 had the best signal for long range! It’s no longer the case! I was at 11 kilometers away and never had the 1 red bar nor video feed loss! Mostly white bars! Way better than the RCN1 with my mini 3 which had video lags more often! I did manage to fly it 10.5 kilometers away and back so it’s also amazing! Open plateau in the countryside! No obstacles!!
@@AirPhotography Last fall I had better signal and range with the RCN1 with my mini 3 Pro but now when i use the Mavic 3 and RC Pro, the signal is now very amazing in open plateau countryside! I didn't get lag nor the 1 red bar! Only ocassional the 3 three yellow bars! Amazing now! More lag with my Mini 3 Pro when far away! Still amazing however!
For the me, the MIni 3 Pro is first Mini pro that I really use on a regular basis. Most of the previous Mini drones I have owned just didn't have the camera quality that I'm used to, especially in low light or bad lighting conditions. And having a full set of features makes it more useful than the Nano Plus. Great review Shawn, and I agree with all your points. Thanks for sharing.
You are exactly right, Ron. My Mavic three is by far the best drone I own. But my mini three is very capable, and I tend to use it more just for the convenience and for the fact I can fly in more places here in Canada. I don’t have to follow Vlos as long as I’m flying in a safe manner
It's a brilliant drone the only downfall with it that it's not very durable but as long as you don't hit anything then it's all rounder. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to some more videos 😁 👍 👌 🇬🇧
It doesn't make any sense to purchase the RC pro because the battery life is shorter than the RC and is much heavier than RC (twice as much). The range of RC is more than enough.
Thanks for explaining in clear concise detail. A pleasure to listen to.

Mostly white bars! Way better than the RCN1 with my mini 3 which had video lags more often! I did manage to fly it 10.5 kilometers away and back so it’s also amazing! Open plateau in the countryside! No obstacles!!
Awesome thanks for sharing your experiences. I prefer the RC pro myself for the same reasons much better screen recordings.
Good for weddings?
Indeed, it’s a good choice because it’s quiet and small and not intrusive
Pretty good 👍
Thanks!
Hi does this model have remote id?
I don’t live in the US so I’m not 100% sure. But yes, I do believe it does.
DOES IT HAVE A FOLLOW FUNCTION.
Yes the pro version does
For the me, the MIni 3 Pro is first Mini pro that I really use on a regular basis.

Such a beautiful and simplistic approach for this review. So nice to see videos like this. ❤
Thank you so much!
When will we see a Mini 4 Pro you think?
personally myself I don’t think until next year.
it wouldve been nice if we got even 2 seconds to hear what it sounded like. otherwise, great info.
I hope to have the mini 3 but I’m broke lol
They just need to add waypoints.
Or the possibility to use 3rd party apps with the rc.
Indeed
If only dji was allowing waypoints or the possibility to use Litchi or equivalent with the RC😢...
Waypoints would definitely be cool
Lacking side sensors though…
Un drone mavic s'il vous plaît j'ai pas les moyens pour men n'acheter
👍🏻!
It's a brilliant drone the only downfall with it that it's not very durable but as long as you don't hit anything then it's all rounder. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to some more videos 😁 👍 👌 🇬🇧
Totally agree. It’s a great drone but yes, indeed it can be delicate
Дякую!
It doesn't make any sense to purchase the RC pro because the battery life is shorter than the RC and is much heavier than RC (twice as much). The range of RC is more than enough.
Propellers are impossible to unscrew from the drone. Total nightmare.
