Great video. I bought mine when it first came out but used it twice then got too busy. Recently got much more into it. The mini 3 pro is perfect for someone like me; a weekend flyer who just wants to take some cool videos of my town. Within 30 seconds of grabbing the drone’s case, I’m in the air. Insanely easy to fly and nearly idiot proof.

Just a small caution. As your first drone taking off and landing on your boat, even when stationary will be a challenge not to be taken lightly. It can be done but not recommended for the inexperienced. Have fun😄
I have drones since the phantom 1 for over 10 years 😂 flying without a viewer 🙈 now I have the phantom 4 pro but mostly I use the mini 3 pro because of its small size 😅 the quality is really good 👍🏻
Only downfall with the RC controller is no support for SDK so you cannot take advantage of 3rd party apps to give you more use out of your drone. Either spend the big $$ on the RC Pro or pick up a RC-N1 to connect phone to.
@@CalTek Yeah I have ran into that issue for 3d mapping for AR/VR utilization. That and there is no mounts for bikes with the RC controller. Another issue I had was my iPhone not playing nice with the mapping app either. So I had to drop more $$$ on an android phone and the RC-N1 controller. Plus now I want that Action 4 haha so it never ends I guess. oh and the new air 3 lol
@@cuve_ae yeah the downfall of expensive hobbies/jobs. I am a photographer as well so always wanting to upgrade the equipment and that gets costly. I may end up picking up a RC-N1 next year to try out mapping, etc.
I purchased the Mini 3 Pro about 18 months ago and it did not even come close to my Air 2S. The instability in wind was my major gripe, plus the lack of precision landing was the other downside since I do a lot of roof inspection in tight spaces. The A2S handles wind as well as my Mavic 3 without the bulk, and I can guide it to the landing pad or hit RTH and it hits the center of the pad almost every time. I’m really looking forward to the A3S which has been verified, and will likely be available in the 3rd quarter of this year. With a 1” sensor 20mp main camera plus the 1/1:3 3X optical zoom, in a 720g package and rated at 50 minutes flight time, I will really have no need for my Mavic 3 or Mini 3 Pro. I’ll keep my A2S for very high risk inspections, and use the A3S as my daily driver, and the Mini 3 Pro for recreational flying, or when I want a very low noise and visibility footprint. I’ll likely wind up selling my Mavic 3 since it’s pretty much a dinosaur the way I use my drones.
my mini 3 pro had to be replaced twice because of misting lens but unfortunately has not been fixed and I got tired of having to constantly replaced it 😞. Dji said it's normal and to just store the drone with a silica gel.
how is the battery life? i have a spark and a mav2. the battery life on those two are terrible. it seems as you just get it in the air setup and "warning warning".. the cost of replacing the batteries are about the cost of a used drone.

I actually would like to just fly around the city in Tampa in fpv goggles and check the city out in a different perspective than the street head level. I'd like to fly up to buildings near and see the rooftops. We have beautiful sunsets over the city and water downtown. Also, I'd like to get footage of the entire tampa area, even the ghetto in east Tampa with the old stye homes and streets. I don't wanna fly over empty fields or water just because there's nobody around. That's no fun, and I'd obviously I don't want boring footage of trees in Florida lol

Has anyone been dealing with wifi connection issues depending on where you are especially no wifi? Ive been unawake to fly because of that I am not sure if its an update that needs to be done or is it ocusync issue. I read that is ocusync so im curious why does it need wifi to operate.
Mini 3 is great but, budget drone? Not sure what your budget is but, mine was around 300 dollars. Thankfully DJI offers some more budget friendly drones for us with smaller wallets. The SE models are much more in the budget range.
I just got the basic mini 3 and wow if you want a drone that can really travel som distance it's the one to get. The flight time with the battery plus is insane and it does your basic stuff really well, video and pics etc. It would be the drone I'd recommend to the regular flyer.
I tried to enter but never got a response, so I gave up.. Key West very small with big air port and another military airport close.. looking to get 5+6 FPV drone... None DJI restricted..
First i loved it, NOW I HATE IT! It refuse to fly. It demands update before flying, it demands WiFi before flying, it demands GPS before flying, It DEMANDS connection to server before flying... So many times I have to spend 1-2h of troublesolving because it damands something before it can do a simple take of. It cant fly indoors without restrictions, it cant fly in a mine or in a cave, it cant even take off i a forest. The only way to make i fly sometimes it to grab i by the hands and throw it, then you can make it fly for 5-10m. I will now ship my DJI mini 3 Pro to Ukraine. I hope they starp a grenade to it and send it on a one way mission.
my bad point is this drone control does not record the audio ... I want to fly and discribe Im under lake X, you can see now the mountain M and things like ... I need to record the audio in my phone and than mix on shotcut the video editor software I use ... seems this issue is resolved in mini 4 ...
Your assessment is spot on! I like my Mini 3 Pro for all the same reasons and use my Mavic 3 for the stuff that needs to be higher quality. Honestly I love my mini 3 pro but literally on my first flight ever. It was auto landing and for some reason mistook the home landing and ended up trying to land on a super uneven surface and actually snapped 2 of the arms completely off of the drone. Not sure how or why this happened but never had an issue after that. Thank gosh for their insurance care service 😅

Get the larger battery and you have a different beast, the 46 minutes (ok more like 40) feels like ages - potentially I do 2 filmings with it, but also you don't have to return it home when you are busy filming.
Been flying since the 1st phantom but it’s the only “professional” drone I can afford now so my choice is made. Just looking for reasons to feel good about it 😂

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. I'm a pro photographer. Never really got into drones. Maybe flew one a few times. But that's it. I'm planning on moving to the Philippines in the near future (as well as doing sone traveling) and want to start shooting youtube content. How does the follow mode work? Assuming it has one. There are some activities in which I won't be able to control it. Such as snorkeling, surfing etc. Or if im doing a photoshoot and have no extra pair of hands. And. What would you consider to windy? Being on a bunch of islands, winds def going to be a factor. I'd like a heavier drone, but something I can just put up without permits and stuff is perfect. Or are drone permits fairly easy to get?

This feels like a dumb question but can you use the video and imaging camera without flying the drone? In other words can you just hold it like a camera and use it even though you're not flying? Reason being I'm considering buying something like AGH6 and this drone as well but I think I just might be happy with the drone because it's a camera as well
I've been debating picking up a new stabilized drone to compliment my FPV drones and was debating between this or the new Air 3 recently and I think I'm gonna go with the Air 3. While this didn't have many negatives, the ones you mentioned swayed me. Side note: I forgot about the baby lion and it popped up while I was typing this and got a good laugh. 😅

The wind looked pretty crazy at 9:22 😂 not a good day to fly with the trees blowing like that I think. I would blame the 250g drone for that.

Are you saying it needs good internet signal to fly at all? Or does the controller have issues connecting in those type of enbironments?

Ofc I’m talking about after I’m long gone & he’s a young man. Anyways I’ve got a cpl over landers, I gotta Nikon CoolPix 550 & a idea in my head for a unique channel & subscriber base. I know the Coolpix is dated at this point but it still takes beautiful photos. I’ve gotta laptop, all I need now is a drone & the knowledge of how to edit & mix video+audio. I’ve never flown a drone. Is this to advanced for a beginner & what’s the most u’d recommend spending on a 3 pro bundle that gets at least everything plus a controller. 🤷♂️

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. I'm a pro photographer. Never really got into drones. Maybe flew one a few times. But that's it. I'm planning on moving to the Philippines in the near future (as well as doing sone traveling) and want to start shooting youtube content. How does the follow mode work? Assuming it has one. There are some activities in which I won't be able to control it. Such as snorkeling, surfing etc. Or if im doing a photoshoot and have no extra pair of hands. And. What would you consider to windy? Being on a bunch of islands, winds def going to be a factor. I'd like a heavier drone, but something I can just put up without permits and stuff is perfect. Or are drone permits fairly easy to get?

Hi great video just have a question couldn't find an answer online, can you use this drone as a handheld gimbal camera ? like does the camera and gimbal turn on and record without turning the propellers on ? also can you monitor the footage using the remote controller ? Thanks

This feels like a dumb question but can you use the video and imaging camera without flying the drone? In other words can you just hold it like a camera and use it even though you're not flying?
Reason being I'm considering buying something like AGH6 and this drone as well but I think I just might be happy with the drone because it's a camera as well

I've been debating picking up a new stabilized drone to compliment my FPV drones and was debating between this or the new Air 3 recently and I think I'm gonna go with the Air 3. While this didn't have many negatives, the ones you mentioned swayed me.
Side note: I forgot about the baby lion and it popped up while I was typing this and got a good laugh.
