The Real King Kong and Nino! These Cuban Heavyweights have always intrigued me because I've seen a similarity between them both in the way they look and their styles in the ring despite Ortiz being a Southpaw and Valdes an orthodox fighter. They also share the same distinction that they were both top Heavyweight contenders but never won a world title. Valdes was one of the best Heavyweights in the mid-late 1950's and was ranked in the top 10 for a number of years in that decade, Ortiz got 2 shots at the WBC Heavyweight title against Deontay Wilder but lost twice. 2 excellent fighters and an interesting comparison! www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
Such an awesome idea and a great way of executing! I love comparing boxers of old to modern boxers. It's interesting to see the evolution and devolution of the sport in many ways.
Cuban heavyweights are rare but the few that there have been were full of talent Other great ones were Teofilio Stevenson and his Felix savon neither turned pro
I have come a long way in this boxing game! Amazing that you actually found long lost footage of me fighting in my younger days even though I was still ancient back then as well!
Rumors say they are actually the same person and luis ortiz was born in 1924. And yes that would mean he was almost 100 years old when he first fought wilder. Pretty impressive.
I mean his reported age is 44 if he is any older than that then it'd only be by a couple years at most. Makes his career even more impressive if you ask me, I wonder how he'd have fared in his prime.
It's true that they don't have exactly the same style but there are a lot more similarities between them than say an outside boxer like Frank Sanchez for example.
@@hanzagodHis punch resistance was completely off even at the second fight, and Martin could send on the canvas with a jab. Ruiz also.. He could beat Andy Ruiz even at age of 43 if his punch resistance still there
Ortiz could have been champion. Al Haymon refused to let him step in and face Joshua, instead he allowed Ruiz Jr. To fight him...and then history happened. Also the scandalous recovery that was given to Wilder in their first fight!
Only difference is ortiz is or atleast was a giant power puncher, and crazy skilled accurate puncher boxe.r even while years past prime. Completely on a different level then nino, who wasn't even a big puncher

@@mider-spanman5577 Thanks bud! Quite a few more to come in future.
@@hanzagod I look forward to them as usual!
Now this is a very cool comparison across time!
This is such a fascinating concept, would love more videos like this.
Thank you for this video. Nice. I'm Cuban. Both great fighters. Very well compared

Both great contenders in heavyweight history, I love me some aggressive Cubans, nothing more elegant than that to me.
It’s a privilege see that fine skill on display 👍👍
@haNZAgod Fabulous concept brother, I look forward to more intriguing and entertaining videos from you!

I hate how they aged out King Kong ortiz
Ik man. Wanted to see him win a major world title at least once.
@@kmyattjr he got wilder twice
@@MitchGreen_LLCI know
I mean in fairness he popped for peds twice

Good job on the two best Cuban heavyweights. Wish you should do a video on Jose Ribalta. Anyways, keep it up.
Nino Valdes ❤🎉🎉🎉
It’s a shame we never got Ortiz vs Joshua and Valdes vs Patterson
Patterson would have been too quick for Valdes
Crazy how Valdes was considered huge for his time but was considerably smaller than Ortiz
In weight perhaps but in terms of height they were practically the same. Valdes was 6'3, Ortiz is 6'4.
@@hanzagod I think Valdes was the tallest boxer back then along with Cleveland Williams
Nino had a chin on him, eating those bombs from Satterfield
2 monsters
Nice
Nice video on Ortiz and his sparring partner.
😂😂😂😂😂
Ortiz taught him everything he knew
Ortiz on Valdes: "He's a talented kid. He'll make it in the sport some day."
Ortiz is one of the best boxers in whole boxing history, who come in professionals so late and can't won world title
Good for a heavyweight, but there are much better boxers.
I always wonder how old Luis actually is 😂😂

@@hanzagodI am estimated to be around 50,000 years old but I don't have an exact age
Your Marvin Johnson highlight video from years ago is unlisted by the way, I remember telling you that 3/4 years ago.
I know it's unlisted.
They actually look a like.
Ortiz was the first sparring partner of Jack Johnson and still competes, respect
Lmfao
Louis Ortiz vs Tyson fury please God make it happen best fighter ever
@@DanielHoward-n6b Ortiz is old and way past his prime now. Fury’s fighting Usyk again.
@@hanzagod idk Ortiz might whant to get in the ring with Tyson
It'll never happen. Ortiz is done at world level.
King kong ortiz a great fighter.
frank sanchez should have been in here too
He doesn't fight like these 2.
@@hanzagod id argue that ortiz doesnt really fight like valdes to be honest. Ortiz is more like a counterpuncher.
It's true that they don't have exactly the same style but there are a lot more similarities between them than say an outside boxer like Frank Sanchez for example.

Dicen que marciano no lo quiso enfrentar peroo mi cotorraneo alex mittef un gran pesado argentino lo enfrento y le gano 👍🥊
Got old manned
If Ortiz had a chin, he would have gone so much further.
Anyone can get dropped by Wilder I wouldn't say that's a sign of having a poor chin. It's the Heavyweight division anyone can go at any point.

Nino was a big puncher. He hurt and knocked out multiple contenders.
