No he doesn't believe that Jesus preexisted. I really don't understand on what scriptural basis he denies this. I think he believes he can explain away all the verses about him pre-existing, so he doesn't believe he needs to believe it..
Thanks for your collective input. I've adjusted a lot of my doctrinal views over the last few years, so I'm open to anything that can be proven with scripture, even if it contradicts the mainstream. Having said that, there seems to be ample evidence that Messiah has been with the Father since the beginning. How would you all respond to verses like John 3:13, 6:33, 38, 62, 8:23, 16:28, 17:5, Colossians 1:16-17, and Hebrews 1:2? These passages in particular seem pretty ironclad to me, regardless of the translation. Am I missing something?

@Mckaule The verse you're referring to is Genesis 22:2 and God called Isaac Abraham's only son because Isaac was Abraham's only son that was with him at the time God said that because Ishmael had left Abraham before this (Genesis 21). And in regards to Hebrews 11:17, I don't think monogenés implies begetting (and I'm a Biblical Unitarian). It's clear that Hebrews is using "monogenés" to say that Isaac was a unique one before explaining how he was unique (i.e. it was through him that the promise was made). And its usage in John 1:18 doesn't support trinitarians either. The verse is more correctly translated as "a unique one, theos, has made him known" with "theos" being the word for God but when used for men it signifies one who is like God (cf. John 10:34/Psalm 82:6). It's like when unclean men are called dogs (Revelation 22:15) because like dogs they're unclean. Considering this if we go back to John 1:18 it makes a lot of sense here with one who is like God being one who makes God known. And it's clear that John doesn't use the word "theos" here for Jesus as meaning he is actually God because in the same verse he says that no one has seen God at any time. This apparent contradiction could explain why someone would have been inclined to change the text from "theos" (God) to "huios" (son).

We believe Jesus only preexisted in the mind of God, as the promised messiah in the divine plan God had before creation.

He is however the one of a kind or unique only begotten in the fact he was his first begotten with Sarah and therefore in the covenant God made with Abraham. Jesus is a unique one of a kind or monogenes because he is the only one of his kind with a human mother and God as his Fathet (no human father) no one else ever born can say that. I was raised with no religion, and thus was an atheist who hated the idea, of there being a God, as after-all, we were just byproducts of godless evolution. Through religious education at school, God made Himself very real to me. I became a believer in the bible with One God and one Jesus (Unitarian) I then got into a church that taught Jesus was also God with the usual "proofs". (so then I had a binary God) Then that church became Trinitarian, with the usual "proofs", and that was the beginning of the long road out of that church as God showed me through your channel and other sources the errors of such thinking. So, there is hope for us all, if we trust the scriptures, even our Muslim viewer by the name of Universe, if he will study them.
