Imagine going to the Colonial Fleet recruiting office and being told your score on the entrance exam won you a spot on a Manticore. The Fleet hands your parents a tri-fold flag on the day you sign up so they don't have to be bothered after your first and only mission. Likewise, may the Lords of Kobol have mercy on anyone unfortunate enough to be stationed on one of my flagships with a valuable officer on board. Life expectancy on a Manticore is twice as long.
This playthrough I've named all mantcores after a phrase. My longest lasting Elite Manticore just bought the farm. It was called "Pucker Up" because all on board knew it was their job to fly into almost certain death to get the read on the enemy.
I like the Berserk for low-grade fleets. Especially in the early campaign, it's like a baby Minotaur. You really want to have something like an Adament to draw fire though.
Hi There, and Thanks for taking the time to drop a comment. The Berzerk is good for low grade fleets especially for it's low Point cost, Medium Turrets as well as having the advantage of Turret Range, Accuracy and Squadron Evade. I also prefer the Adamant over the Berzerk, due to the missle battery as well as a stronger hull and armour. Overall despite the Berzerk having Medium turrets my preference is the Adamant. Happy Gaming :)
What the Berserk really has going for it is the 50% evade for it's squadrons and the 110% gun range on its 5 medium guns. If you can keep it behind and above a bigger ship like an Atlas for protection, it can throw quite a bit of firepower. And the squadron should outlast even an Atlas squadron.
I do agree the Bezerk is a good addition to a Fleet. I mainly run with the Atlas for the increased squadrons aswell as the Squadron Repair/ Evade and Damage Reduction. Also whilst the Atlas is slower its more heavily armoured. I also tend to use the ship to cover my support ship due to its size. Its definately worth investigation to see which one would actually be better for the points raised. Happy Gaming 😉😊
Out of curiosity, what Munitions do you suggest slapping on the Celestra as a general rule? Obviously that depends on what your facing, but id imagine generally you would stock it with Missiles or AP rounds to swap out with torpedos or mines. Nukes are obviously a TERRABLE idea since you only get 3 shots including the one on the ship your resupplying.
Hi There, thanks for commenting. As you have already said it does depend what your facing. PCM's are great for cutting down enemy missles and really do help, massive squadrons can be countered by EMP Generator but as a negative can also affect your own aswell. Nukes can be good depending on your objective. One of my opening tactics usually involves a Manticore or Adamant that can get in front of your fleet, this helps 2 fold; 1- identification of big guns early and 2 - fire off a nuke to them helping you overall in the 1st few minutes cut down the leaders. I think its also important to point out that the resupply missle doesn't have to be what you got equipped to fire already 😉. So you could have nukes equipped with armour piercing for resupply. So to answer your question i tend to go with nukes and if resupply in play would go with armour piercing as backup. I hope this helps. Happy Gaming 😊
Hi There, thank you for taking the time to comment. They are a great ship for scouting ahead to indentify the targets and, carrying that 1st strike missle to use at the start. However, as you've said, they aren't carrying much more than that. But well done for making it this far just using them and you will notice the difference when you go on to the Adamant Frigate. Happy Gaming 😏🙂👍
hear me out here, one battlestar, and the rest of your fleet made of corvettes or frigates, then have nukes fitted and use them as either rams or driveby strikers
Greetings, thankyou! 😁 Im glad you enjoyed the video. The devs REALLY did an excellent job merging original and re-imagined Galactica into the game. Check out my video on the Modern Ship Package which shows the Mercury and Valkyrie class. Happy Gaming 😊
Hi There, the formation has the firepower and the support, aswell as a good squadron count. I would personally for a tactical prospective swap out a berzerk for a manticore. Reasons for this would be an additional missle slot, aswell as an enhanced dradis range and speed. If you place her well ahead of your fleet and turn defense to maximum she can identify the targets early for missle lock enabling you to fire off a cripling missile barrage in the opening few turns. I hope this helps, Happy Gaming 😊
This is essentially what I used for my carrier focused play-through but instead of a Celeste I had the Daidalos for the two fighter squadrons I’ve never seen a cruiser die faster than when 9 viper squads are hounding it at once also I usually like to position my ships with only broadsides underneath enemy ships to get longer usage out of their guns
Hi There, the Minerva is a good battlestar thats got a good missle capacity. She's relatively light armoured for a battlestar. When using her i tend to turn defenive posture to maximum when using flak and maximum offensive posture when attacking. Give this a try and let me know if that helps at all. Happy Gaming 😊👍
You CAN do this but for the missiles you are better off going for the Janus. Its tougher, has a better punch and cheaper in all respects. The Minerva can stay on the drawing board for me.
@@commodorejones8044 yeah it's in the resurrection dlc it has 20 more armor on every side and 8 more Battlestar artillery 6 on front and 2 more in the bottom battery as well as another raptor squadron

Hi There, i prefer the MK2 version, my favourite is the Blood and Chrome Galactica. Unfortunately they did not include that version in Deadlock. Happy Gaming

I haven't had a single Corvette die since grouping them in packs of 3 to 4. Knock on wood, though. I'm still in chapter 5 of the first campaign.

I am _not_ a fan of Manticore. I cannot wait until have something with turrets facing all directions. Adamant is an improvement, but only just.
@@commodorejones8044 Then im sure you'll LOVE the Manticore gunship, Artimas or the Minerva battlestar.
All else fails execute "last act of freaking defiance" and ran your weak ships in to cylon heavy ships

Great guide really helped me out 😁

I like the Artemis. It looks the most like the OG Galactica to me.
Hi There, i totally agree and i think that was the plan to pay homage to both. Happy Gaming 🙂

That's why you slather Celestra armour all over it before entering combat

I distinctly remember naming ships myself while playing Deadlock. So I'd say yes.
I am very bad at this game.

Just some guy babbling words off of a badly written script... Waste of time.
Hi there. Thanks for your feedback. I wish you all success in the creation of your own videos. 😊
Well he does have a point though there is knowledge to be gleaned here. I would add sections to the video for easy navigation and maybe a script?
So boring
