So say we all. I have never played this game but I’m a fan of the show so I think I’m gonna download this because it looks epic. I wanna recreate some battles from the show lol!
After playing recently, i just realized that the Colonial ships are glass canons compared to Cylon ships, take the Revenant, Cerestras, and the Modern Basestar those are bulky and hardhitting ships
Got this game fro free recently. I liked the gameplay system and the ship designs are very cool. Can't wait to have my first Battlestar in my campaign save
I'd love to see the next version of this game having the newer ships and other stuff, plus the ability to roll the ships as they had planned. Also maybe some mission packs for different things, like raptor mission pack swapping or something.
i did a funny with the Raptors specifically the athenas Raptors i sent them to go take out a nemesis by itself Raptors 1 nemesis 0. for mantacores and adamants a mixed fleet is good plus a ranger for just absolutely slinging munitions at ships but make sure you keep ships in its forward arc of fire heavier firepower broadside is decent but make sure to go high with it for the bottom guns learned this via trial and error mainly trial i keep guided missles for my ships cause usually the cylons don't have jammers if i see a squadron of jammers all fighter engage that target i look at the Hercules and immediately think keep that ship out of broadside fights also artimis turn radius is eh just gotta predict wand keep other ships out from its turning arc also if your sending an artimis to another fleet keep it escorted preferably a mix of mantacores and adamants
I k ow they made a mod for homeworld 2 years ago which looked awesome (sadly never got it to work) and would love to see a full fledge space RTS to go alongside of deadlock which is the only turnbased game ive ever enjoyed playing
Nice to see a Deadlock video that actually shows the Taipan's 3D model, been unable to find one so thanks, can we expect a similar video for the Cylon's arsenal?
@@RicardosGaming Hmm. Mercuries are the only double (or Quad really) flight pods. They never DO talk about the artificial gravity they all seem to have...just ignored it in the show. Controlling gravity would make for some AMAZING weapons. Gravity bombs that make a target crush itself. A reversed gravity field to PUSH things away from the ship, effectively a shield. I "assume" the Viper's have it also, as the pilots have ZERO effects from the insane maneuvers the fighters do. Or hacking a ship to turn UP the gravity and crush the crew. Or turn it OFF just before jumping, as at might turn the people into paste? Still, a good video and a game I'm still playing & trying different starts with new fleets. :)
I'm sorry to say this, but it seems that the squadron discussion and the ship discussion are reversed, with squadrons at the beginning and the ships at the end.
The Celestra design is actually from the original Battlestar Galatica TV series, that is why it probably still has that dated look. The base design of the Celestra for Deadlock looks much like the original from the original TV series. galactica.fandom.com/wiki/Celestra_(TOS)
Have to stop you in your tracks: This game is not at all "RTS" It is entirely turn based (which, by definition is the opposite)... and in both of its strategic mode as well as in its tactical battle mode.
@@RicardosGaming I am kidding, of course. Yes. I did - it is quite entertaining the way you are presenting it. Loving the game too and just bought the DLCs. They augment it all to a new level - just sad there are only two seasons.

loveit

I think that is it for the game unfortunately
The Celetrstra was in the original show. There was a whole episode about it being taken over by a mutiny.
correct ! - good memory
It was a nice little pocket story.

You are right, raptors are key in this game. Not a lot of people use the special ship abilities
I always smile..."only 1 Jupiter per colony..."...as I look at the half dozen fleets of 3 Jupiter's and 1 Artemis...

it is something I am planning to do given time - though the cylons are no available in the blueprint section - unfortunately
@@RicardosGaming Cool, looking forward to it, shame that the models aren't available for viewing or anything like that
Hi Ricardo, can you see the cylon blueprints in the codex?
@@BenCanucklehead nope unfortunately now - not sure why they omitted this
@@RicardosGaming why would they do that??
what about the Cylon fleet? they really need a thorough lore video.
Minerva "no bottom flight pod"? The pods are on the sides...I think you misspoke. It just has no armor all over.
I was referring to the fact that the flight pods are single flight pods on either side of the sip. This is opposed to the mercury that has double pods
@@RicardosGaming Hmm. Mercuries are the only double (or Quad really) flight pods.

Yeah on and off…. It’s finding the time

Just bought it plus the modern ship dlc as I used to watch the original back in the 80s. Looks like a winner.

That screen is really dark . Great commentary but low visibility.
