if u have used the control panel to change settings for the game does the new nvidia app carry over those old settings or dyu have to re assign them as new?
Is it just me, or is this overwhelmingly underwhelming? All I can see is a slight brightness and contrast adjustment. Honestly don't see what the fuss is about.
Until they provide these to work with VR Software, do not hurt FPS and they are savable regardless of a clean install Geforce is NOT RECOMMENDED for performance.
Nope. Everyone always just seems to be looking for “more” or “different”. Neither necessarily means better. I stopped overthinking it and rather spend my time flying.
it's far better with the filters on because vanilla msfs is waaaay too dark once you have a few clouds in the sky. thanks for the heads up, the geforce experience filters were buggy anyway, most values you weren't able to fine-tune at all, only going from -1 to 11.5 and then 20 or other weird values (for whatever reason...). i shall test this app now
I moved over to this new app and noticed the change instantly. Its really a step in the right direction. I'm running a 4090 and it justifies the price I paid for it and hopefully will future proof me for a long time.
Get ready for something truly groundbreaking: NVIDIA is currently developing a game filter for ShadowPlay that utilizes AI to transform video game graphics into stunning photorealism on the fly. It's poised to revolutionize gaming as we know it. Get ready to be blown away!
Wonderful piece of shit app. 😆 Installed it, then it restarted my PC without asking me first, then it can't even run, it says "There was a problem with NVIDIA app", and suggests another restart, and so on. 💩
"replaces the nVidia control panel". The old classic NCP I absolutely must have. Because I use "Expand Displays with Surround" at all times. And this is in the normal NCP. This is NOT anything like extending windows across two screens. It actually makes 2 monitors into one monitor. For instance I have 2 1440p monitors, it expands those two monitors into one monitor at 5170 x 1440 resolution, instead of two 2060 x 1440p screens. (2 times 2060 plus 50 for bezel correction). Bezel correction eliminates the two side bezels between the monitors from distorting the picture. After doing this, MSFS offers me to set the MSFS in game resolution to 5170x1440. If not using Nvidia Control Panel Expand, MSFS only allows up to 2060x1440p. So when you drag the window across two screens you have only half the resolution compared to if dragging the window while using Expand. Expand is in the NCP, there is no other way to expand.
Ok something is wrong with my setup. After I hit Alt-Z then hit game filter while I am in DCS, instantly the sim goes into SLOW motion. At the beginning of AH64 instant mission start from runway, Wags voice goes instantly slow and the whole sim is in slow motion!!!!
There is nothing here that can't be done already. The so-called RTX vibrance seems to be the only new filter but it is already there in older filters but it's named differently. The sky is relatively still far too bright with washed out clouds and this is an inherent problem with MSFS. You need a combination of reshade and these filters to get the clouds to stop white-out.
So did you see any FPS hits while changing various things? did you test FPS drops using this vs old filter system? Hoping this isn't creating any hits. Thanks
Looks promising but don't think it's ready quite just yet for prime-time usages. At least on my PC with the RTX Dynamic Vibrance filter, MSFS won't lunch the second time after closing it, it'll always crash until I reboot the PC.
Worth mentioning that (using the latest Game Ready drivers and on SU15 Beta) for me, and others according to the MSFS forum, you have to set your sim to DX12. With DX11 you'll likely get a dxgi_error_hung error and you can't start the sim. Once I'd got that figured that out I found I couldn't change the Dynamic Vibrance 'on the fly' so it's almost impossible to fine tune for my system.
Is there any way of clearing settings as I have cocked up 2 of the three available, don’t want to chance the third…….just wondering, wish I’d stuck with the original setup 😢
Oh god, oh god no. Please dont modernize the control panel. The only thing that ever does is make it more tedious to find what you want at best, and at worst, removes settings access.
I will spend an hour setting the perfect filter effect only to move the aircraft into a different location and it looks like crap. So i stopped messing with it. Good video thou.
One thing to suggest is to check any adjustments you make against different times of day. Dynamic Vibrance looked good to me until I saw how it turned the black of night into an unacceptable gray with it's brightness "pop".
Excellent show as usual, thanks to your suggestions I'm now getting a solid 60 fps. flight sim will not stay at full screen keeps changing back to window in spite of ALT + ENT or saving it in the graphic setting any way to keep it in the full screen . thanks for all the great help you have given us.
I am curious to know if applying the filters affects frame rates with the new app, I found that it did lower my frame rates in the previous version? I will try this, but it may be different depending on your hardware etc, and not everyone will have the same issue as I have. I will be upgrading soon, so hopefully, that sorts it out for me.
I also stopped using the Nvidia filters not because they were drastically reducing frame rates but I found with them on some micro stuttering was introduced, I use the fame time display in RTSS and without the filters I get a very consistent and smooth 11ms (I run locked at 80fps with GSYNC), with the filters turned on this would vary quite a bit which was the reason behind the micro stuttering. I ended up getting the sim to look just as good using the picture settings on my 55 inch Sony X90K
Thanks for the great video, these extra additions are really great. Do you know by any chance if its possible to save these settings? After a little change in the settings or update of the sim, everything is put back to default.
Simply turn on some lights in the cockpit if it's too dark in there. That increases the immersion more than fiddling around with filters to see everything. lol
The Dynamic Vibrance is a good feature, however, in MSFS the light is set to be always warm and the sunlight is too blown out of proportion over the horizon, to the point you can't distinguish anything if the weather is too cloudy ahead in day time (I can only see a yellowish-not-white blinding blur, specially in VR, which breaks immersion and disturb a little when I need to read something in the cockpit). So you 're left with that "yellowish" everywhere, and white is not really white due to this hardcoded filter. it can be mitigated though, with a color filter, but it 's not good enough to create the real world atmosphere I seek in this game. It has so much potention yet Asobo prefers to paint the game as an unrealistic filtered photograph rather than a real world flight simulation. Thank you for showcasing the new filters.
Great video! Have you tested on your PC with enabled Google Map Enhancement? What do you think of the RTX DV on top of it? Any issues your end or works even better? thanks
Meh is all I have to say
Shush
Yeah I agree not really that impressed. To be fair though no one was really promising anything, it’s just a test of filter on MSFS.
if u have used the control panel to change settings for the game does the new nvidia app carry over those old settings or dyu have to re assign them as new?
From what I saw on another video yes it transfers settings during install.
I see some comments, it's crazy that microsoft flight simulator attracts a lot of idiots.
Is it just me, or is this overwhelmingly underwhelming? All I can see is a slight brightness and contrast adjustment. Honestly don't see what the fuss is about.
It’s a tricky balance. Initially I wanted a big change but it’s one of those things where too much can quickly look awful.
To me it looks like "Intensity" literally just makes everything brighter. Doesn't seem like it's doing any magic or anything special.
I think the MSFS default looks way more like what you see in real life with our eyes. The changes you're showing look gamey.
To realistic🤔🤨?

Congrats On 10K! 🎊
You can directly access the filters with Alt+F3
The only filter available is the new dynamic one. The color and other ones arent available. Why is this?
I moved over to this new app and noticed the change instantly. Its really a step in the right direction. I'm running a 4090 and it justifies the price I paid for it and hopefully will future proof me for a long time.
Its primary purpose is to replace the NVIDIA Geforce Experience app, not Control Panel.
Yes at the moment, but apparently the control panel is going to move over in the future into one unified app.
It's to replace both, you can change your a lot of the control panel in the app too and it will eventually add the rest too

Game filters not Game photos
5 months later, this is pure garbage
Oddly enough, everything is greyed out when I open the filter page. Top of the page says "Launch a supported game"
This is with MSFS running.
borderless windowed or fullscreen?

I'm not flying with DX12 Beta so this has limited use for me it seems. The RTX Vibrance options don't seem to do anything at all.
So did you see any FPS hits while changing various things? did you test FPS drops using this vs old filter system? Hoping this isn't creating any hits. Thanks
It's a filter so There shouldn't t be any noticable fps dips

You can use a filter at night - just need to turn the RTX Digital Vibrance down to 5% Great video - these filters make a world of difference.
I just installed the new app however i do not see any filters on my app. Im using a 3090 card. Am i doing something wrong? Thank you
dynamic vibrance sliders are greyed out because you have the nvidia app open in the background.
I will spend an hour setting the perfect filter effect only to move the aircraft into a different location and it looks like crap. So i stopped messing with it. Good video thou.
Funciona com DX12 ?
nicely done mate
As much as I like the new beta. Unfortunately, MSFS2020 refuses to start when I have overlay filters on
One thing to suggest is to check any adjustments you make against different times of day. Dynamic Vibrance looked good to me until I saw how it turned the black of night into an unacceptable gray with it's brightness "pop".
Yep, said exactly that in the video. Nighttime wasn’t great
How is that any different than the nvdia geforce experience game filters which are available like 5 years? (ALT+F3 in games).
Every time you'd update your driver you'd lose your filters. Not anymore
so basically it's nvidia's own version of reshade
I have a hunch that it won't work in VR as usual.
It’s a bug with the sim I believe. Hopefully fixed soon

Had no idea this existed. TO THE PC!
Another move from sw providers to reduce fps and make me feel my recent upgrade is already getting obsolete 😂
Not seeing your tech channel link.
Thanks for the great video, these extra additions are really great. Do you know by any chance if its possible to save these settings? After a little change in the settings or update of the sim, everything is put back to default.
Update the Nvidia driver this was a problem with the previous one. The latest one fixed it.
No bright/brighter 😮
best V 12/6
Does this only work for monitors or does it work for VR also?
Doesn't work for VR unfortunately
Still find it causes ctd with DX12 beta
turn off frame gen
Waiting for my 55" samsung monitor to arrive, I wonder how it will make a differance, will report back when it is installed
60 HZ ?
at the moment 240hz,55" is 165hz,not downloaded the app at the moment to try on the 49" monitor@@saren6538
hardl;y any differance on the 49",will report on 55" when it arrives
again hardly any difference as there are so many combinations with this monitor settings
Nice video. Will try out on my pc. Cheers👍
Can you explain what needs to happen to un grey the sliders
Honestly, it seemed like a lottery. Going into the menu by pressing escape and coming back out would solve it sometimes. Weird!
Ok, maybe they will sort it out 👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Do these filters work with VR?
Unsure, never tried vr
Thanks for the review.
Subbed! Congratulations!
Dammn it has been such a long time, i wanna come back on the streaaams btw congrats for 10k !
Indy!! How’re you doing??
Gooood, how bout you
Simply turn on some lights in the cockpit if it's too dark in there. That increases the immersion more than fiddling around with filters to see everything. lol
For ne the best filter is no filter.
13 min of bla bla bla for a game filter that we all use since 2018
lol k

Do the filters reset like that did in the old app?
