  • This is brief video summarizing the exhibition, work and history of this years #porscherestorationchallenge24 entry from Porsche Mechanicsburg. This project was truly special to me. The owner of the transportation service we use, and dear friend of mine, approached me after retrieving the car from storage and said, "This is the car for this year's challenge." Intrigued, I reached out to the then-owner, Hannah, who shared a deeply personal story. The car had belonged to her late husband, Todd, and was his dream car. Hannah had planned to sell it at auction to maximize her return, intending to use the proceeds to fund her children's college education.
When I explained to her the significance of the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge and how we intended to preserve and restore the 911, she was moved by the idea of continuing the vehicle’s legacy in this way. We quickly agreed on a price, and she has since stayed a part of this journey, following our progress on social media and staying connected to the project and shared her personal pictures and story in our final video.
Originally, we hoped to enter the preservation class, but the vehicle’s low mileage required us to go in a different direction joining the restoration class. So we decided to restore it as close to a new 1997 993 C2 S as possible. The car has since been showcased prominently with the #porscherestorationchallenge24 placard at the Pennsylvania Auto Show, the CPA-PCA Porsche-only Swap Meet at Carlisle Fairgrounds, and even the LLS Visionary of the Year Charity Gala. The turnout and enthusiasm at these events were incredible, and we couldn’t be more proud of this year’s entry. This project is more than just a restoration-it’s a tribute to Todd’s dream and a testament to the passion we all share for preserving a piece of Porsche automotive history.
