I love sundown woofers.. just heavy duty and outstanding performance.👌🏼 anyone who listens to my system loves how deep my lows get and they all think I have a pair of 15’s or a few 12’s and all I have is a single 8 😂👍🏼

@@tevinalexander3008 sedan. Mazda Rx8. Tiny trunk, had to assemble the enclosure inside the trunk itself lol, tuned to about 25hz so it’s quite deceptive 👌🏼 designed it myself.
@@DanMarcelino which of the T/S parameters did you find the toughest to work with in building your custom enclosure? What Fq did you tune it to? Last question whats the roll off like? I have the 2-15's on a 1000 running 1ohm in a 8cuft box tuned to 38hz, the roll of is a bit sharp in the low 30's. If I can take that massive sub box out and just run an 8" and keep the same db level im all over it. Do you have any videos on your set up here on RUclips? I can't wait to build my 8" box, I might go with 2- 8" but that may be too much!
@@tangomantactical probably just Fs to be honest lol it's tuned to 27Hz and is surprisingly linear.. I notice the drop off around 15-17 Hz and I don't put anything higher than 100Hz through it, which is probably why it sounds like a bigger set up 👍🏼 there's enough excursion to move enough air and with the resonant frequency of the enclosure being so low, it just pounds 👌🏼

That is a pretty good option for people who just need a little more bass and not take up space or upgrade electrical. Two of those in a shoe box sized box and 500 watts. Good deal for the non bassheads

I have 3 of these with a heavy duty 12" Dayton passive radiator on a Zapco 600. They sound awesome. I put the back floor panel down in the suv and they disappear.
Man if you haven't heard Mr.6.5's car or seen it I highly recommend it! I could not believe how much air it moved!
Really cuz I was looking to replace front speakers in my 99 trans am stock mosoon speakers put out some bass but they tend to blow out.

I have 2 x ADIRE 6.5.s really hand made some years ago. They are excellent . Really amaze people just how much impact they can create when correctly boxed and amped
I had 2 blown SA 12s, I made them into a "passive radiator" by removing the magnets and capping off the coil, I have two sundown 6.5 x series as the drivers. 1 6.5 driver 1 12 passive per box. Sounds pretty damn good.

I have watched this video about 20 times now since I have placed my order from Down4Sound. I have now ordered an extra 2 so I can run 6.
I’m thinking of getting 2 off of some guy selling them. He wants 130 for both, they’re brand new in the box. I have limited space so I think they’ll do great in a single cab Tacoma. I’m currently running an 8” solobaric in a sealed box. Now to figure out the box.

@@sagramsagram4632 Smaller diameter subs are faster, punchier, more responsive and have tighter sound than large subs. This is exactly what you want for fast paced music like rock where there is a series of rapid beats as opposed to a long drawn out base note. Thats not to say that rock music is all these subs are good for but these are exactly the sort of subs you'd aim for if accurate sound with respectable volume is what you desire.

I would definitely run these. Back in the day I wanted to downgrade my sub from two 12 inch rockfords to one 8w7.😳😳 Boy was I wrong. That little 8w7 hit cleaner and deeper than those rockfords.😂 I can only imagine this beast in a finely tuned enclosure. How deep does it go?

Sundown Audio unofficial Most everything I own is made overseas. I hate that. I bought 2 SKAR audio 10's hoping that they would be made in USA. I replaced two PYRAMID SUPER PRO 10 inch woofers that I've had since 2002. They were proudly made in USA. It even says it on the logo. They have a 2.5 inch voice coil also. I paid 70 dollars each for them back then. They still rock. It's just their Xmax is only 6mm. I had to upgrade. So the SKAR's have 11mm. I know the upper end of every sub brand has more made in America, but I just wish the owners of each company would really be proud to say made in USA on their product. I also have six 18 inch EMINENCE AUDIO subs that are made in America. It might not mean much to you but I like to say that when I buy a product. I'm just saying that I was very let down that I can't find a entry level subwoofer made in America. Even if they raised the price, I would still buy it. I hate seeing MADE IN CHINA on the product boxes especially for price that is wanted.
If you're okay with paying more for Made In America then look at the Sundown Audio X-series subwoofers. The 10"-up are all made in our headquarters in Claremont, NC here in the USA. You can look up the Build Room videos here on the channel and see them in process being built.

6.5" is most common size for computer speaker ( 2.1 system). but for this little monster, we have to build its own box in order to get maximum result.

Just bought 4 of these bad boys 30minutes ago with a SFB 3000 to power em for my f150. Getting a custom box made rn . Any pointers would be extremely helpful
This is just for show. Had a sa 10" ported box at 40hrtz it sounded good.
Put a xfl 10" in the same box and the xfl pounded! Just hit lower notes that shook...
The sa couldn't do that.
Using the same power same box.
American bass xfl just played better all around. It does have 3“ voice coil but both subs cost the same money.
So make your choice.

At 4:20 you can see the surround kinking a bit. I wouldn't trust this sub long at those excursion levels.

Looking at the parameters I don't think these would do that good sealed. Their free-air resonant frequency is 51 hz and in small sealed box they'd start rolling off at 70ish hz.
It'd probably have excellent mid-bass though (70-200ish hz).

That's messed up they make the others by hand in North Carolina I personally been there a few times that's where I got some of my nightshades back years ago. My uncle worked there and I got a good lil deal on em cause they had something wrong with em cosmetic. And they wasn't gonna send em out and just tear em down back then. But this made in China sucks lol I'd rather buy something made here at home ya Kno. I'm with ya on that if those 6.5" are truly made in China I won't buy em. That truly kinda makes me a lil sick. Why would they opt out on making them along side all the others instead of having some China slave shop make em... But thanks for pointing that out brother I didn't see that lol

No lie I hooked up an rp.1500 to one EVL 6.5 by skar and it took the power like a champ I was surprised these 6.5s sundown and skar are more like 500 rms not 200 very conservatively rated
also drilld holes in the coils aluminum area befor the copper
Never under estimate a 6.5 in woofer. My brother has 2 (not sundown) in his truck and they have good bass for a tiny woofer. Would love to hear these.

d4 while woofers play the mid frequencies (the vocals)
Sundown audio seems OK prices for those speakers seem pretty high when you can get a Jl or a kicker for cheaper and it sounds just as good

Little guy needs to lay off the beans
Thinking about building a box for my older van and wondering if I should pop for a pair of these or just do a single since it's set up with a double winding? The real question is what size box? (cubic feet) Sealed or ported? Not looking for crazy SPL, just something nice and smooth. Got anything special in mind for mids or tweeters? Space limitations would be 1 ft tall, but could go 2-3 ft wide for each cabinet. (exterior) Since it's a classic vehicle I am also limited in the power dept to around 100 watts. Might be able to squeak 200 watts if I make some adjustments. Just no room for a larger alternator.

My close friend wanted some mild bass is a super small package on a budget... this may do the trick. One of these in a series tuned 6th order blowing through the rear deck of a 2009 optima on a bit over rms... I think that'll do the trick
Hmmm...I've run 6.5" more than any other subwoofer. I will definitely have to check this one out.
I want to use one to build badass PC sub with a 250 watt Dayton audio plate amp with 2 50 watt satellite speakers with 3 inch midbass and 3/4 inch soft dome tweeters for some immersive gaming with THX certified bass.
in free air i would think that mechanical excursion would rip something, but in a sealed box then you can put more watts into it and really test to see if something burns or breaks.
take a 15 inch sundown sub, put a small 6.5 inch cone on it.. and you have this little beast.

That would be extremely impressive because every vehicle is not made the same but bassheads like me enjoy the super SUPER low notes and straight bass drops and this would help out on spacing in the trunk area.
