- I was just getting into making Wax Slugs and needed a better way of opening the end of the 12 and 20 Gauge Shot Shells (rather than with a knife), and as Necessity is the Mother of All Inventions" - I thought I would try making my own Shot Shell Trimming/Cutting Tool. I was doing mine with a knife - which works, but it is time consuming, specifically if you are trying to get a nice even, clean cut at the top of the shell for the purpose of Roll Crimping your Wax Slugs. So without the option of purchasing a good tool -- I decided I was going to make my own, and this is what I came up with...
To bad you don't still make the cutter. I would love to have one.

I am looking for a similar tool that can cut spent hulls to a desired length. that looks like it would would work with the hole going all the way through like a guillotine with a wood dowel to support it. because the BP trim doctor is slow going and not so great.
