Oh, nothing here, just the world's greatest dobro player noodling around with the world's greatest slide guitar player. Oh my, how can anyone down-vote this?
Saw Jerry with Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer in the early 90s and Derek with Tedeschi Truck Band in the 2010s at Red Rocks and consider myself fortunate. Consummate musicians and great guys. This jam is marvelous!
there's a lotta lotta mediocrity out there lookin for little gigs; then there's folks like these. word of mouth draws a line that can be ignored if whomsoever wishes to, but the contrast is just a thing that discerning ears will always notice.
An often compartmentalised Gerry Douglas, sometimes ignored as an individual artist, taking the lead and singing & playing his version of Stormy Monday Blues. Sometimes you shine but often it is so much more fun being in the background & just joining in with a real good lead... just like in a session with your pals
old Lowell. my sister brought home the little feat records back in '78 or somethin. I got to liking southern rock a little better. then what happened. The universe went south. but not the south pointing to Georgia.
Love it that Jerry is singing more, again. He used to - when he was playing mandolin - but then stopped when he started playing dobro. But lately, I've been seeing/hearing him sing more . . . pretty cool.
Can you imagine how cool is that? They're jamming the hell out of it, everybody's having a great time, and there's a tv where they can see the crew setting the stage in real-time. I mean, I wish my pre-show was half as cool as that!
Jerry Douglas is a bluegrass dude, not a country dude. If you like great instrumentation, you'll love bluegrass, particularly the instrumentals. The standards of musicianship in bluegrass are generally the highest I've found. If you can't play, you aren't allowed to play more or less. And Jerry's the guy that set the standard for the dobro.
omfg this is incredible...if yall put all this footage on a cd or mp3 for purchase on ya website....i would be first in line....that taj mahal jam was sick too!!!!!!!!!
You guys are SO Freaking Good, it's simply (simply😂 Not) "On A Monday" Damn if this could be a normal Monday the 🌍 would be a better place. ______HOT FREAKING DAMN 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is art, with notes instead of paint! Damn, this is good! I would like to know the 8 that pushed dislike! On second thought, never mind, don't want to see you, wouldn't want to be you!!
I love to see this two heroes playing
So wonderful. Jerry Douglas is incredible... More Derek + Jerry collab would be stellar.
A Trucks/Flux duo album would be astonishingly great.
That's what I call a proper Jam Out session.
I have an old Arli Guthrie recording of that song. I love this one, Derek, and Jeff are awesome together
Oh, nothing here, just the world's greatest dobro player noodling around with the world's greatest slide guitar player. Oh my, how can anyone down-vote this?
+Peter D Sonny Landreth?
Sonny Landreth is also the world's greatest slide player. If you suggest he would down-vote, I doubt that.
+Peter D S L has no sense of musicality.
I think Sonny and Derek are both in the conversation with different styles like ketchup and mustard.
Tedeschi
Saw Jerry with Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer in the early 90s and Derek with Tedeschi Truck Band in the 2010s at Red Rocks and consider myself fortunate. Consummate musicians and great guys. This jam is marvelous!
If these two keep practicing they just might make it someday....
hhhaaaaaa
If they keep picking at that it's going to bleed. What a talented pair. Just wonderful.
Love the drumming at 6:45 and the drum kit :) the whole song of course ..great song and good times
Jerry.. You need to sing more.. that was good!
Jerry has always been a great singer
I didn't know that. I don't think I ever heard him sing before.
Great stuff. Why do people always want to compare players and say he is better, she is the best etc? These guys are outstanding, nuff said.
@Paul Money : it's a kiddy thang ,pay it no mind .
there's a lotta lotta mediocrity out there lookin for little gigs; then there's folks like these. word of mouth draws a line that can be ignored if whomsoever wishes to, but the contrast is just a thing that discerning ears will always notice.
These people are amazing!
I love TTB, their musicianship is really something special.
Wow.......Just Wow! That is a room of pure talent!

This reminds me of Lowell George! Love Jerry's voice.
old Lowell. my sister brought home the little feat records back in '78 or somethin. I got to liking southern rock a little better. then what happened. The universe went south. but not the south pointing to Georgia.

Can you imagine how cool is that? They're jamming the hell out of it, everybody's having a great time, and there's a tv where they can see the crew setting the stage in real-time. I mean, I wish my pre-show was half as cool as that!
Amazing musicians doing what they do best, amazing the rest of us, pure joy.

I'm not a country freak, but I'm digging this Jerry Douglass dude
You should go see one of his (rare) solo shows if you get a chance. He's one of the most incredible musicians on the planet.
