There's something about the voice acting that makes it really stand out for me, just how calm and composed many of the characters are, makes them look more badass. And the art is amazing, I love the style of Supergiant's games.
NL has this weird thing where he always runs around and aggros every single enemy before trying to fight any of them
The dude who is not that bad at rouguelites is actually a pretty good description of expectations.

Super glad you are giving this game a video! If you end up doing a series, never unlock the golden urns so you never hear anyone say you missed a tinted urn!
Dude I've actually been waiting for this for so long
Was waiting for you to give your okay to give you advice on gameplay, but to be honest you seem to be doing really well already. The only thing I can really spot is that you generally want effects with knockback for wallsplats, which are a lot of free dps. I think the best weapon to learn game mechanics before experimenting super hard is the shield, because it's the most defensive and arguably the easiest to use. Keep up the good work egg
Edit: take Call boons! Having even a subpar one for bosses is super helpful.
I'd watch you do a daily series of this for sure.

I was wondering when you'd get around to playing this/doing a video about it. I've been enjoying the CRAP out of this game and as you said it's been through a few updates. The game was amazing before this latest update and it's even better now with this update. Background story is amazing, characters are amazing, they have amazing interactions with each other, yeah it's really good. Hopefully see more of these videos from you because I've definitely been enjoying playing it myself/doing vids of it

The main trouble with this game becoming a series is... a good run can get up to 2 hours. It’s a bit egregious in length. Extended by the dialogue and options and room size- best bet if it becomes one is if runs are split into 2-4 videos.
After Isaac runs, 2 hours is nufn.
I have not watched NL' take on it yet, but I just wanted to say that I've put 100+ hours into the game already since it first came to Early Access on the Epic Games Store almost exactly a year ago, and I highly recommend it. It's a great game, banging soundtrack. Little grindy in places, and losing can be frustrating, but overall, absolutely fantastic game.

This game is amazing it took me 30 runs flat to beat it and I only did so due to a super OP build with Athena deflect and fists of malphon.
Lets see more now
Gameplay critique:
1. ALWAYS BE DASHING -- i-frames brother, and it has a very small cooldown.
2. You can stand to benefit from a faster playstyle. It's risky right now since you dont know enemy patterns, but enemies without shield get hitstunned, and that makes them free.
3. You get bonus damage from backstabs and wall slams, later on, you get other forms of permanent damage bonus conditions, but use them as often as possible.
4. Try to get a boon of each category (Attack, special, dash, cast, call) sooner rather than later. With experience, you'll find which gods fit your preferred playstyle, but at the utmost least, they're damage upgrades.

Hmm...this game has a REALLY good art style, I can't lie about that. I'm glad it go to Steam even if it is Early Access. Supergiant didn't disappoint this time. So NL, this a possible series later?
