@@pious83 Career Suicide? His Isaac videos, on average, get less views than anything else. He built his channel on Isaac. I think people just want to see him move on from it. I'd love to see another long series like Slay the Spire.

Hades is mechanically wonderful but it absolutely shines in terms of story, voice acting, and character interactions. Unfortunate that NL isn't too sold on these aspects but at least hes having fun =)
I was surprised by how much the story bits caught my attention. They really dug into the mythology to make something that isn't just the same few themes that we see most of the time with Greek Mythology fiction.
He plays games like I did when I was 10, literally skipping everythin. Then when I finished a game it had zero impact on me because I had no idea what was happening
I'm also really impressed how they've managed to change things up and have different things to tell me even after myriad runs.

I think the main thing to keep in mind about Hades is that they're still rolling out semi-frequent updates, so like the Gungeon, I suggest keeping an eye on it in the future and exploring future updates once this series is over

Holy shit, I never knew Artemis' Greater Call was so wild
artemis is an important part of a complete run
dash deflect is probably the best dash in the game
Artemis crit synergies are the most satisfying builds to rush bosses with
Skipping all of the dialogue is triggering me hard, the whole story content is so well integrated into the rogue-like structure.
@NL thank you for checking this game out! I bought it monday, been sick all week and been jamming it hard.
For clarity's sake:
The coin symbol is the chance to gain coins. The Athena boon symbol while similar is the shield with the four little stars around it.
The bag of money symbol is the shop (Charon) sign. When you have 150 its basically guaranteed that you can get a random boon upgrade.
The pac-man looking thing is an upgrade, and it's the guy next door to hades that you can spend the gems on, though you can also use the dude in the lounge to exchange gems for other stuff you need.
The titan blood is for specific weapon upgrades in house of hades, which you'll unlock I believe after you get the gun, which is the 8-key weapon you haven't unlocked yet.
Also, whenever you see a grey circle with an exclamation mark TAKE IT, it's a powerful friendly NPC where you can grab some powerful free shit ^_^
NL, quick advice on that fight you died on.
Those Elysium warriors will infinitely spawn until you destroy the Butterfly Swarm. Fortunately they spawn as the little eyeballs, so if you can keep them from picking up their weapons and becoming warriors you can divide your attention much more effectively.
You basically lose if you end up having to fight a full complement of warriors at once though.
I love that the Megara voice actor imitates the disney version of the character

This game is absolutely awesome, glad it’s a series for now.
I started playing Hades, holy shit that game is stellar. I'm honestly not the biggest Supergiant fan, I know they make great games, but none have ever stuck except this one.

Deflect on dash is very useful. Especially later on. It works on melee too.
I really hope this stays for a while, its awesome watching you play a game I have a tone of love for.
5 tips from someone who has been through the game multiple times and was early to grab it on epic:
1: Dash a tone more, you need to remember it gives you invincibility frames. Getting an attack upgrade for your dash can win you the game.
2: don't just go for damage, crit and other effects can be way better late game.
3: push enemies into walls, it does a lot of damage and can stun.
4: armoured enemies don't stagger, you have to destroy the armour before you can get any form of stun or knock back.
5: hammer upgrades are lush.
Also SAVE MONEY, shops can get you blessings from the gods which last you the entire run..... you're wasting money on effects that only last a few rooms getting buffs at the well.
I legitimately played this game for 10 hrs straight yesterday. It has been a LONG time since a game made me want to not stop playing it.

Thank you for the series! I've logged 8 hours of Hades so far, I bought it after watching your Lets Look At. You're already better than me XD I am stuck on the hydra's last phase.
bone hydra is kind of a bastard. I try to take upgrades that deflect projectiles and/or inflict massive poison stacking and chip at it from a safe (ish) distance.
Highly depends on your loadout, too. I barely got anywhere the very first two runs, then got the bow with Flurry Shot and made it all the way to 3-1.
He tore through the last phase with the help from that Artemis Ult, tbf. And he's been playing roguelites constantly for the last decade, so I dont think the comparison is fair

I doubt Ryan will see this but a good rule of thumb is, if the god has a planet named after them, then they are Roman. Except for Uranus because they were panicking when it came to naming it because King George's Planet didn't fit the mythological theme and picked a greek Titan instead of a Roman god and they didn't want to bother to change it again after that was brought to their attention :/

Not using the greater call until the Hydra was hittable was a great move, sadly Artemis' arrows only strike one target, which most of the time results in just overkilling a single enemy to a massive extent

ps, deflect is busted as hell since the deflected projectiles home onto enemies iirc. It turns your dodge into a ranged attack
