Would have been very sad if he missed out on that after picking the engineer body. I wonder how good the "stealth when not shooting" plus salvo would be?
@Raphael Lim Well it's not just the damage bonus (though it'd be nice if it wasnt lost) that is interesting about the stealth ability - doesn't the enemy straightup stop attacking you if you go full invisible, thus letting you stockpile more missiles with 0 danger?
This has to be the first game i have seen NL play where he is actually good from the first episode, normally he's worse than myself at 0 experience, but nova drift, he's miles ahead of my first run.
The last run he did was actually the worst, single Ally only really makes sense with Architect hull, and Salvo is literally worse than the starting weapon for it. On top of that, Siege Weaponry makes no sense for Salvo, but at least you should never kill yourself with the self damage from it, as you only need to fire once to let off all the missiles.. ;)
I bought this game to see if it was actually hard, can confirm the game was hard. Now ive been playing it non stop since this video and its probably my favorite game. Thanks NL.
This game makes me think of Beat Hazard, only you have upgrade paths. BH was a phenomenal game, I would love to see the introduction of progression lines like this to that game.

This seems pretty great. I used to love Asteroids, even though I was never any good at it. I do think the upgrades are slightly too frequent though. It kinda interrupts the flow of the game.

Hey NL! There's a lot more info to the upgrades than what you're reading out loud, such as drawbacks or other features that you may not be aware of. I'd appreciate it if you could see what each mod does in its entirety!
With mouse and keyboard, you face toward to mouse pointer and you have to hold left click to move, which includes acceleration, similar with controller. It's not necessarily hard to control but you can't make snap decisions like most videogames.
legion999 have you ever played asteroids? the only reason that game is difficult is due to limited ability to move smoothly. I imagine this game is the same, where you only move forward, and have to point the direction to face
It's hard to aim with a controller (easy to turn too far when trying to point at something), and slightly hard to control with the mouse (because your ship tries to face toward the curser, which is very suddenly in the opposite direction whenever you cross a screen edge and loop around), so it takes some getting used to either way. It doesn't control like Isaac. Exactly how it works depends on your controller scheme, but basically you have turn left, turn right, thrust, and shoot, so you can't dodge-while-attacking like you can in Isaac.

Anybody ever play the side scroller PC game mildly reminiscent to this where you chose from three different pilots; I wanna say they were pigs? A larger tanky/slow but powerful ship, an average ship of both speed and power, and a very fast but low damage ship. You picked up powerups as you went along, shooting and avoiding asteroids and enemies. Wanna say it was Space Hawgs but I can't seem to find anything with that title.

NL dies after 2 upgrades "that was a really good start" my first run going in blind was nearly an hour lol. Still a good game though so definitely recommend.
You should all check out the channel Ultra C. They make great builds, and has content (3 videos) coming out every week. They are fantastic to watch and listen to!

Theres an option ingame that enables your drones to spawn automatically till they hit the number cap, use it, its a life saver
I want a full series of this and Griftlands. Or more SoR. All highly great options.

But you dont have to take them right away... so it actually doesnt interrupt anything. You can easily just wait to amass a plethora of upgrades.
I hope you play more, there are so many different builds, for example: furthest I've got was without weapons or shields...figure that one out?

Nova Drift is a great game, played it off and on for almost a year, there are so many different builds, and lots of new weapons and buffs to unlock.
