nah.
The Bear-ier BM74 Lol
They started chewing wood in upper left corner.
@MJ yeah I noticed that as well if anyone knows it would be really interesting. I have no clue what they are doing I kinda just assumed they were trying to get out of the box lol
If you watch closely there are honey drops running down the back wall and the ants just kinda hunt them down :D
Ant 1: We need to make some pathways.
Ant 2: Why?
Ant 1: So we have somewhere to walk while we're making pathways.
Ant 2: Your logic is impeccable and we should begin at once.
... underrated comment
Lol
Hqhahaha
This reminds me of a comment on a gacha game video that said
"Why do you need good characters?"
"To get gems."
"Why do you need gems?''
"..To get good characters.."
This really shows how the ants have such a great idea of depth perception. To build the tunnels alongside each other without meeting is pretty amazing to watch.
*ants, when they reach the end of the frame*
Ants:
- what is this indestructible white thing?
- look like it's the limit of the world...
They started eating (digging) thought it on the top right corner
@Abdul xD
hahaha, genius comment !
same things gonna happen to humanity
isn't that an animal abuse? sick human experimenting poor ants!
"I got an ant farm; them fellas didn't grow shit" - Mitch Hedberg.
Anyone notice how they started using the sand to make a grave yard and bury the dead ones I just found that really cool that it shows how similar we are.
That's just where they store their trash to keep a clean nest and get rid of the sand they're taking out. They don't usually 'bury' their dead, just discard them with the rest of the garbage the colony makes away from the nest so it doesn't draw in predators ^^
@@willothewisp2980 are you sure mine bury the dead in sand but they passed away already rip I let some workers free after the queens died and I’m pretty sure they repopulated somehow because I’m seeing them again
@@gatsbietheweirdo9403 Some species keep their trash inside the nest, but most just dump it outside. If they do bury it it's probably by coincidence lol
Also depending on the species, I would doubt that since they need a queen to repopulate or they just die out naturally
@@willothewisp2980 or maybe they fuond another nest that welcomed them instead of killing them
@@arkdraellhelldrake4079 I don't really think that's typically what happens, but what it could be is that the ants were a kind of ant that uses something called a gamma-gate, which basically means that when a queen dies, the most dominant worker ant assumes the responsibility of the queen and becomes one as well as multitasking as a worker.
When they reached the boundary, one said "okay, our world is flat"
I find it fascinating that you can see where they put all the dead ones. (Bottom right) incase anyone didn’t know ants release a hormone when they die which means other ants know they’re dead and put them in basically an ant graveyard. I saw an experiment where someone put the hormone on an alive ant and it took itself to the graveyard (once the hormone was gone it returned to doing alive ant stuff dw)
A lot of insects rely on chemicals and hormones rather than sight but there are some exceptions like murder hornets can recognize faces of people and tell other hornets
@@louisperry6138 Did NOT know that, that's pretty cool
@@louisperry6138oh hell fucking no
This may be incorrect. I thought they don't release a pheromone. They die and lay unnoticed until the acids build up and create an odor that the others notice
Same with eggs, didn’t see a queen in this video but usually there’s a queen chamber and they take the eggs to a separate chamber
Ants: We still haven't received our paycheck.
Queen: This is a sweat shop, deal with it. XD
It's amazing how Ants create networks of tunnels so close to each other without collapsing.
When man still had a tail and was sleeping on the tops of trees to stay away from predators, these mfs already had hundreds of thousands of years having perfected their craft 😎🤘
2:32 - 3:31 Those ants took two very engaged meetings, discussing how the colony's infrastructure has been going on lately
They got stuck in a pheromone loop
I think
The ants built a pyramid in the big room, its basically the closest thing to ant religion
Where else would the ants dump the sand they took out lol
BootsMcNab it was a joke
Funny enough, the Pyramids slope angle was designed to be the same that sand naturally slopes at. They probably thought it would be the most stable.
Reino that’s so interesting. Maybe that’s why I feel a sense of familiarity looking at the pyramids - bc that shape occurs in nature. 😃
@@pascal590 That might actually be the case. It would be called The "mere exposure principle," but either way, I don't the pyramaids needed mere exposure to be majestic. Also, I assume not all types of sand form the same angle as dry egyption sand that they modeled off of.
My friend: "What videos do you like to watch?"
Me: "It's complicated"
😀😀😀
Haha
What's so complicated about saying, "I like watching time lapses of ant farms."
Sand doesn't fall

I keep reading the title as "Sad ant farm" and it brings such a strange vibe when you watch this and try figuring out why it's sad
Sand
@@ea1468 he aware
Its sand dumhead!!1!!+1!!!!
I said I read it as "Sad ant farm" no I did not mean sand
Did you notice they bury their dead?
that was mesmerizing
Thanks! 😀👍😀
Cricket nuggets.
Opossum meatballs
Pelican Pizza
wolf burger
They're SO well structured and organized!
Ant mafia
Funny how they move such a huge mound of sand outside the nest and then don’t dig into that mound at all
They would think its not safe because its outside their main nest, idk why but thats just them
Maybe they dropped, "don't dig here pheromones"
To lose I had some try
Maybe it’s too loose because they’ve pulled out individual grains and dropped them there?
yh but where would they but the sand from the mound of sand
Right at 3:23 the ants on the right make a strange column twice. I wonder what thats about
either water or sugar water
honey of course :) Thanks for comment!

Hallowed Underground fits nicely. Thanks for the idea lol
Surface corruption fit nice
Or underground desert.
I imagine that ants have their own language, and while they were making the pathways they were talking about the structure and where to dig and stuff
Going through a bit of an ant phase right now. Just realizing how amazing these little creatures actually are. Awsome vid!
It seems there are a couple of dead ants on the "waste disposal" in the lower right. I find that interesting, that they actually leave them there and not "recycle" them.
that's an ant graveyard usually there is fungus there were they can harvest it and the dead bodies are disposed there so the minerals can go to the fungus
Whatever killed them could infect the colony and kill them all. Disease is a huge factor for social animals.
I must sacrifice myself for the new homeland
@@calvinhoward3808 i mean they probably died of exhaustion
I like watching these because it reminds me of the old game "Lemmings"
I love that game :) I've played on commodore amiga after that pc too :)
Good times
It reminds me to... SimAnt
Yippee!
I gave up on that game
It’s cool how the ants use all the tunnels and space they made
2:52 Nice to see even ants takes a coffee break too.
It is very important to notice that they actually stopped digging once they reached the desired goal. That's impressive IMHO... If there were humans they kept on digging till they had no sand left at all but just a big empty sandbox.
Why do you think humans would dig until there is no sand?
@King of The Zinger it seems like both of you are projecting your failures on to other people.
RUclips: here, watch how ants digging tunels

My brain: do it

Clearly you have not been directed to antsCanada yet
Thank God it's not just me.
When they reach the edge: *You have reached the build limit*
from 1:51 - 1:53 u can actually see how they teamworked and transported the "big"stone together.thats awesome
I don't see it
I like how organized they kept the scrap pile. That is the ant that should be in charge of the tunnels.
Wow, it’s satisfying and amazing to see ants digging. It just feels like i’m one of them. Amazing content bro! Keep on going, you can become famous someday.
Thanks! I love them too :)
youtube at 3 am : do you want to see some random ants dig a tunnel?
me : Hell yeah
good to hear 👍😀
I wonder if there is someway of tagging ants so you can keep track of the same ants visually during this. Like, do the diggers take a grain of sand and haul it themselves all the way to the dump? Or do they have a conveyor system. The diggers hand off to haulers, maybe a chain of haulers that move it while they mostly stay in a small part of the tunnel as individuals? I'm just curious how they organize around the task. They are ridiculously efficient.
a bit of paint would work

I found it cool how they all made a huge main tunnel with little tunnels coming from it.
do you see those "little rocks"?
@@GreenTimelapse yes
Such a nostaliga right there.I remember playing this game years ago (Tunneler, for those who don't know)
You can see the dump/graveyard they built on the right. This is actually a common feature of most anthills, they need a place far from the colony to dispose of dead bodies and trash. Keeping such a thing too close to a healthy colony can spread disease
Please make a new video using colored sand in layers.. Could be interesting to see if they sort it..

I work with them on the surface and this was a great insight into what goes on down there, cheers!
You can clearly see that, the middle of the sand pile is the highest. Meaning that ants themselves mojarily do what's easiest.
Even *ants sometimes don't give damn.*
The first ant come into the box: hey everybody, i found this
The gang: is this safe? -,-
"we need a big open space here for a chill zone"
This is so relaxing to watch! Ant love forever!
3:29 - we do not talk about fight club ...
Ants: Okay we might be prisoners here but we got one thing to do, work!
That was oddly satisfying! Thanks for sharing!
Kids: Cleaning my room is impossible D;
Ants: Hold my sand
I was so ready for them to try to spell out "HELP!"
I wonder why ants dig their tunnels the way they do.
Quite fascinating nonetheless.
The ants work more than an actual classroom.
Ants: lets build our home!
Also ants: damn its so hard to build
Reminds me of roads in human size you have your main highways then the smaller roads that split off from it
love how they build roundabouts
Recently got an ant farm , and they are so fascinating, watching them work and create their home is amazing. This is a great video showing it
fascinating that they had the foresight to bury the dead ants on the right of the screen, noticed the 2 dead ants and they naturally used the incoming sand to bury it and keep it sanitary
@Brennan Shy ants keep their nests as hygenic as possible by having designated areas to poop and bury the dead, if you watch the right, while digging they move 2 corpses in the pile and they bury them, likely to prevent the decaying body from spreading bacteria and mold
Brennan Shy ant is a part of the ecosystem
@Brennan Shy 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
@Brennan Shy do you mean alien as in foreign, or 👽

Wow amazing ants putting sand at the corner of the boand keepp digging
_In the pandemic much left time to see ants at work - lol_
doesn't this show how smart ants are? if you think about it they could've piled the sand into a corner but instead they piled the sand in a certain way such that the pile would reach the entrance of the huge sand thingy so that they wouldn't waste too much energy going to the bottom
