I actually checked this out when it came out, but was turned off by the first track since it starts very "traditional oldschool blackmetal", which is NOT my thing. It's one of Polands most interesting black metal bands. They make very both rough amd catchy songs Árstíðir lífsins - Aldrlok. Most overlooked black metal band there is. The most atsmospheric black metal band, that doesnt play atsmospheric black metal. The album is 80 minutes long, so be patient😁 Griffon - De Republica. Canadas version of 1914.

For me the best is Sakna- De syv dødssynder. Originally it was recorded from 2006 to 2011. After that the original creator,Solemn, sadly took his own life. Now it was released and remixed by his brother, and it's fucking incredible!
It's a testament to the notion that black metal fans are eating VERY GOOD this year that none of my top BM records are in this video. Too much good stuff happening.

Great fucking list boys! Loved a lot of these and you even got a couple I've missed. If you haven't listened to it then my favorite black metal album so far is Amiensus's Reclamation. It's progressive and atmospheric black metal with an emphasis on nature. It's fucking beautiful.
Honestly can't agree most of this list, besdies Dodsrit. They're good albums, just not exceptional imo. I'd say Selbst - Despondency Chord Progressions, Jours Pales - Dissolution, Vorga - Beyond the Palest Star, Kvaen - The Formless Fires, and Infestus - Entzweiung, all deserve a place.
My no 1 is still Borknagar. I've been listening to the album since January 3rd, and IMO, nothing has come close.
Killer record - I had a hard time justifying it as black metal with all those progressive elements.

For me the best is Sakna- De syv dødssynder. Originally it was recorded from 2006 to 2011. After that the original creator,Solemn, sadly took his own life. Now it was released and remixed by his brother, and it's fucking incredible!

Great fucking list boys! Loved a lot of these and you even got a couple I've missed. If you haven't listened to it then my favorite black metal album so far is Amiensus's Reclamation. It's progressive and atmospheric black metal with an emphasis on nature. It's fucking beautiful.

Honestly can't agree most of this list, besdies Dodsrit. They're good albums, just not exceptional imo. I'd say Selbst - Despondency Chord Progressions, Jours Pales - Dissolution, Vorga - Beyond the Palest Star, Kvaen - The Formless Fires, and Infestus - Entzweiung, all deserve a place.
