I hope you come back to TA's videos. They're all so good. And the production quality improves to near Vaati levels as he continues, while keeping the crazy attention to detail.
I totally agree with you on how crazy FromSoft are to include such subtle and out of the way details and then also make it somehow work with the regards to the structure of the game itself, all while knowing most will never notice or even care to notice. True artists in that game studio for sure.

Tarnished Archeologist is probably the most accurate lore guy of them all. The details he finds are too good to not be deliberate, and it is exactly the kind of craziness Miyazaki would do to enrich the worlds he creates. He did it in Bloodborne, he did it in Dark Souls, he did it in Sekiro, and he really did it in Elden Ring. Quelag is also very good at this analyzing of the unspoken parts of the games world, shes the one that goes into detail as to what pure gold and so on means through the lense of alchemy.
They all seem to work together quite alot along side the guy who really goes into detail regarding the original japanese texts, since even that can hold secrets that are lost in translation.

His video where he breaks down the nameless cities, and their relation to the over world map and it's main road, THEN ties it into marikas lore due to it being directly under the massive hole in Lyndell. Jesus it was just mind blow after mind blow

don't forget the collaboration with GRRM that gets brought up later with his usual inspirations from the real world that are also present in the game.

I love TAs videos. I spend a lot of my free time studying Viking archeology and, since most of what we know about the vikings wasnt written down until 200 years after the viking age, we dont have a clear picture of them. The way TA dissects the Lands Between is just like the way modern archeologists piece together theories about the vikings. Also I love the way experts on both subjects all tend to "well actually" each other because what we do factually know is so vague that any number of theories could make sense.

SmoughTown makes amazing lore content for Elden Ring. I would personally recommend "Goldmask and the Golden Order" as very few people talk about him

I think whether these theories are correct or not is kinda irrelevant. The game is made to inspire speculation and narrativization just like this, and this guys narratives have enriched my experience playing the game a lot, and given me a pretty solid foundation to make my own theories off of

Great choice. The channel made me look very differently at other lore channels - his work makes vaati look simple

I love that his videos are so academically structured with a clear thesis and supporting evidence from in game and the Real world, very different style than some of the other also excellent more broad lore videos

Tarnished Archaeologist may not have all the answers for the game’s mysteries, but the way he goes about piecing the narrative together is light years ahead of any other lore RUclipsr

You mentioned that you wanted a specific order to watch these videos. Since he builds upon more or less in order of uploaded videos, you can watch them in order of upload. However i want to point out my favorite duo of video on Godfrey and it's sequel on Serosh.

You should watch them all from oldest to newest, I love these overly glossed-over channels that have more to offer than just surface-level Vaaty stuff

Some of you really can't praise the work of a smaller channel without diminishing the work of the popular guy huh.
I watch a lot of different creators, i think TA and Smoughtown are great to dive deeper because yes you always can, but calling Vaati 'surface level' is funny to me when the the person you are watching was literally mindblown watching his stuff, and she has yet to see what he does best.

Just a heads up he does change a few of these theories over time, but I don't believe she was burned by the burning of the first tree, I believe maliketh burned her and made her bodiless but who burned the tree the first time.....the greater will used shabriri and covered it up.....don't know just a theory lol

You should try nioh (2 specifically, nioh 1 isnt that easy to get into), its a far better game when it comes to gameplay. ER is ok for what it is, but honestly its just DS3 with worse bosses in skyrim.

I feel like she's missing the point. It's not that TA is making this up, it's that FS, and Miazaki in particular, know their shit and work hard to integrate real world history and mythology into their games. Not because they need to, but to give the game depths unseen that 99.99% of people likely won't even notice, but that 0.01% will and it makes the entire experience that much greater.

While TA is cool, he sometimes offer personally reconstructed theories and cherry picks descriptions to assert them in a "it all makes so much sense now" kinda way, watch these videos with a grain of salt.

Nearly all people who do theories do this. Only a select few will acknowledge and discuss things that contradict or poke holes in their theories. And TA focuses on, y'know, the archeological and environmental storytelling that can be interpreted.
