I definitely think they should make crests warbound. I have alts that have crests that they'll never use but other characters are lacking so being able to trade them to who can use them would be great. And speaking of catalyst, what about the thought of using a catalyst charge to upgrade a certain number of existing crests that you have.
Yeah, I feel you there. So much resources are wasted both on mains and alts because there's a self-induced cap and no alternative to trade the currency or at least make it warbound even after paying certain "tax"
There was people complaining gearing was too easy and fast. The issue is Microsoft-Activision-King-Blizzard-Tacobell-AT&T-Costco listens to the dumbest complaints for the past decade.
I think that the only people that complained were the top level key or raid pushers who unfortunately play a very different game compared to us. I doubt that complains like that came from the regular player base.
Hm, I think Blizzard said "it's fine" and it's going to be "alt friendly", however, that happens all the time and it seems that the target is missed more often than not...
I think 8 or even 9 mythic plus should be max for mythic vault. Not everyone can handle 10s. I would guess that most of the player base would fall in the category doing below mythic 10s. Now here’s where the elite players say you haven’t earned that loot. Why should anyone care what loot another person has when it doesn’t affect them one bit.
It's not a guess actually. They have data like that on Raider.io and you should take it with a pinch of salt when reading it but it does indeed show that the majority of the players are doing lower keys. At the same time the trend is to make the experience harder and harder instead of easier once you try to go higher and progress so at the end it's only the elite players left playing
@@benjamincourts4685 Great argument... No one needs max level gear but why put it in the game if you can't reach it after waiting over half a season? what's the point if gear is accessable but upgrades aren't
I'm convinced and I may be in the minority but for puggin low keys 11 and below being moderately over geared HELPS!!! It helps healers first and foremost then tanks then DPS. Nothing that has to do with gearing will ever replace mechanics and experience and skill but depleting or gating gear is awful for pugs puts it at a disadvantage on pull
Absolutely agree and I'll also add that this late in the season, if you played that many keys and went through numerous disappointing "great" vaults, gear should not be an issue that prevents you to go and push higher keys but unfortunately, it is. Feels like you would get the gear and the item level that you need to push at the very end of the season when pushing become pointless, you are out of time and no one is interested any more.
They gate gearing progression to what end? 1/6 mythic instead of 1/4? Capping crests in the beginning of the expansion on ruined crests were so low that I was maxed by Wednesday every week. Gathering stones is atrocious. 10's to get mythic vault is way too punishing. Just like Ninja just said, besides the top .1% (imho) who EVER complained about gearing too fast
Yep, that was absolutely uncalled for. And it kind of shows that they understand they've made a mistake with the most recent changes coming up so we'll be in a little bit better place next season.
4:00 forcing people to do content they dont want, comming from someone in M+ that "everyone" is forced to do for upgrades... heroic raid is capped at 60 runed crest per week. each piece takes about 60 to get for 606 to 619, dont get me started on gilded with 90/15 upgrades (until next week). Doind heroic raid 8/8 every week, it takes 20 weeks to get that 1200 cap these M+ players are complaining they dont have yet on alts...
It goes both ways man. The numbers with these crests are insane and the upgrade paths get even crazier if you try to play alts so I don't think there are many people out there who are happy with this system. They are admittedly making some changes now to make it better so fingers crossed for S2
@@thelegendbehindthecow It is getting better, but still M+ crowd complaining that they need to do other content when everyone else is forced into M+ for any upgrades is kinda funny
Blizzard thought it's a fun idea to make Myth track 2 steps higher so you end up with a progression cycle of 4 months average while mythic raiding........ It's just waaaaay too long period. For alts it's even more annoying. And farming crests every week is so bad since the introduction of this great new upgrade system. They won't get rid of it but what they should do is take those 2 extra steps away. Make crafted gear actual max ilvl and cap the items u can wear at the same time on 3,4 or 5 i don't care, just cap it and let it be max ilvl. And when you're doing the highest content (mythic raid or M+10) you also should get rewarded with the lower crests and not only just the crests who drop in the content u play. Actually increase the crests who drop or at minimum make any catchup who isn't relying on getting max ilvl in every peace on 1 character cause that's not a catch up who feels fine.
Yeah, they are getting in some changes basically increasing the drop amounts so they can "remove" those two extra upgrade steps. Basically admitting that they messed up. Few steps in the right direction are coming up so let's hope season 2 is going to be better in that regard. I would say that catch up mechanics are in demand though, not sure if what they'll have now is going to be enough.
@tegridyfarmer2581 No, but we will be getting more crest per dungeon, even if you deplete in M+ and the crafted gear will be cheaper in terms of crests.
@tegridyfarmer2581 You'll be able to craft gear more easily AND spare some crests for upgrades in the mean time so you are going to gear up a little bit faster. It's still going to be slow but at least a step in a better direction.
Agree with it was probably fine on main but on alt is awful. A whole season of chances to get things was workable. Got my heroic raid loot and been getting mythic track vault long enough to have mostly what I want but still some slots eg my gale of shadow is heroic not myth. Ok ok. On alt - my guild ain’t even doing alt runs really now this late in so not getting spymasters outside pug lottery. But pugs are super picky because it’s late. And then when it comes to regular gear - spam keys for crests again just so I can get to the one mythic per week from vault? And then some weeks I miss as well? Cmon man. I’m not catching up to anyone unless they’ve already quit - they’re getting the same maybe 1 item per week. More realistically, I’m seeing what I can set for season 2. Probably alt to 626ish and pause subscription. My main is done and the lesson of season 1 this time is if you don’t start with that character they’ll be forever behind.
So very true :( And it's sad to see people like you just quitting the game until next patch but the whole design pushes you to do so. Many of my friends opted to do something similar and many of them never came back :(
Has anyone complained about gearing in DF. Yes. Blizzard, obviously didnt like the fast gearing and people not being subscribed for longer. The change to tww was an obvious buisness decision.
Did it work out though? Because I don't think it did. People who quit still did so and the rest of us who keep playing now just have it even harder than before :(

Like yall said beginning of season it’s fine but late in the season alts a the only thing that keeps people subbed besides collecting or leveling!

Also good for "elite players". I would love to run 8s instead of 10s just for vault. Doing keys only for vault and crests is so fucking dumb anyway.
