    Nice video Jeff. I bought a used shad shack a couple months ago and it had this filter system. It only uses one sock. I thought about doing that with a tee and 2 socks. You're exactly right about old tube socks working. That's all I use. They will filter red muddy water clean in a couple hours.

    I used your sock idea all summer. Don't have a true bait well just a cut down 30 gal drum. Used a bilge pump , piece of hose and a sock over the end worked great thanks for the idea👍👍👊👊

      That’s awesome. It’s amazing how good it works. I’m about to do a video on building a bait tank from a plastic drum. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment I appreciate it

    I like the Scale Catcher better cause it does exactly that, catches scales especially if your using BlueBack Herrings....

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  9 месяцев назад

      This will catch everything and clean the dirt out and never clog. I had the scale catcher system. Constant cleaning, especially if using gizzard Shad. The slime they release will gum them up quick. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it

    Easy filter system

    How do you feel about the socks hanging in the water on the filter side, like do u think it wld be better if they hung above the water level, that way the poop isnt just sitting there soaking

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  Год назад +1

      It’s not worth it. Even if it’s above the water your circulating the over it.

    What size coupling for the tank did you use? My pipe was 1 inch so I had to go a size up and use tape to seal and tighten it up

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  3 года назад

      I used a 1” I got them at Lowe’s.

      @@bowl830 yeah I tried a 1" but it was the exact same size as my tank pipe. Works great though. Thank you for the idea

    Are them Keith Robinson's socks?

    Do you think it works better than the box filter and scale catcher screen that came originally with the sb2?

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  4 года назад +1

      Actually I do. I can fish all weekend and it not have to be emptied. I have the original and a high end filter box I bought from shad shack. I haven’t used either since I built this.

    • @bowl830
      @bowl830  3 года назад

      That’s a old super bait tank II. They’re are the ones who started it all pretty much. They still sell them new but are hard to get. He makes them one at a time. I got this one of Craigslist years ago and done some up fits. There’s a video on my channel about that. Thanks for watching. .
