    How to throw a cast net - BEST WAY - Any size, No Teeth, Stay Clean!
    Captain Cody explains how to throw any size cast net. There are a large variety of methods to throw a cast net from the triple load method, the Percy methods and many ways to throw small cast nets. This method works for all size cast nets, 4 foot, 6 foot, 8 foot, 10 foot, and in the video, a 12-foot net is being thrown. The method does allow for 100 percent of the net to open but on average the net opens about 80 percent. Other methods might open then net more but are not as fast, clean, or as easy to throw. Using this method throwing a net goes from being a pain to being a fun enjoyable activity. When drift fishing or anchoring having live bait is a must and learning to throw a net will help you catch more fish.

    This is by far the best of all videos I've seen for casting any size net. I've tried countless other videos for years with varying results. This is the first technique that allows me to consistently "pancake" my 8 ft. net without having to use my teeth or throwing the net over my shoulder. Great work, Captain Cody, and God bless you!

    First thanks for taking the time to reply. I have watched your video and you make it look easy (more importantly understandable), but I am sure a lot of that is because of the time you have invested in learning how to do it properly. The net i bought was advertised as 12' it's actually 6'. I have a small 4 1/2' net that is real easy to throw ... so i believe i am going to spend the money and buy a good bigger net ... probably 8'.

    Well I finally realized what I was allowing to happen that was destroying the throw! When I brought the approx. 1/3 of the net over my right hand then went down to get the 2nd loop of near side net to put over I was allowing all the net in my right hand to come over or fall over the side of my hand nearest to my body!
    It took this Bonzo a long time to realize why the net ended up in a clump !
    I'm getting good pancakes now with the 8 ft net but it will take a lot more practice for me to be able to throw the 8 ft net or a 10ft net or bigger as effortless as you do ! Many thanks for your great video help!

      Also what’s the best way to find baitfish, especially in murky water, I’ve been throwing randomly in spots I’ve seen bait. Is there anything I can look for to make this process easier?

    • @CaptainCody7
      @CaptainCody7  4 года назад

      @@YourLocalCanuck It depends how deep they are. Usually at first light mullet will make swirls on the surface for the first 30 minutes of light. During the day you can use a fish finder to help find them. The shallower the area the easier it is to spot and catch them during the day. Hope this helps, good luck fishing!

    I’m going to give this a try. Now I throw a heavy 10 footer using the triple load. Rather stay dry if possible. Might give this a try with my deep hole net as well.

    • @CaptainCody7
      @CaptainCody7  5 лет назад

      Awesome, tripple load is a good way to trow a net. I switched because I did not like the wet lead on my shoulder after the first trow. Make sure the net is tangle free and this method works great. Good luck fishing!

    I always use this methods, very easy, the down side is you cannot throw hard on this methods to reach far ground. It is perfect to throw at baits right in front of you. The key is to throw nice and gentle at a constant speed. Nice instruction.

    • @CaptainCody7
      @CaptainCody7  4 года назад

      Yeah, it depends on the size of the net. With small nets, you can still throw it far. Thanks for watching dan!

    Of all the methods to throw a cast net I like this one the best. Got taught by an experienced deep sea fisherman to use your teeth. I never felt comfortable knowingly exposing myself to lead. But using this method I have caught plenty of bait fish, a drum, and a largemouth bass.
