    That is the best homemade bait tank that I’ve ever seen. Nice build dude! That would be awesome especially for herring.

    Based on that name I was expecting to see Tim Allen making a guest appearance. One of the best DIY bait tanks I think I've seen on RUclips. Great job.

    I would like to see a detailed vid of the making of this setup. I have coolers of this same size I use for live bait, but I like your pump idea better. I have the 6" pvc also.

    great DIY bait tank with filter, pump and aeration. Exactly what i'm looking to build. This is very comparable to the striper soup bait tank but it's the DYI version. Great job!

    Really genius build and so nice. It's insulated also against hot and cold

    They keep dying when I try catching them in a cast net to keep some alive

      Few water changes right away shortly after you catch them. Add salt as well for shad.

    How do you make it!?!???

    I really like this setup. I’ve been thinking about buying a striper soup tank but the price of plus no insulation has made me hesitant. Can I ask what you used as the bottom plate to seal off the bilge from the bottom intake?

      Hey I just used the round piece that came out of the flat top piece when i cut the hole.

      I ran 3 screws in underneath it and then siliconed it in

      @@Riveraddictions Doh- that makes sense lol. Not sure why I didn’t think of that. I netted some threadfin yesterday and put into a frabil minnow tank and it was basically instant death haha. Think I’m gonna copy this for sure now!

      Awesome video! I will try this! I wish I seen how the bottom was made with the pipe!LoL I am a good visual learner! Thanks

    I'm a little confused on what I'm seeing? I can see the 6" pipe and that the pump sucks off the bottom and discharges back out the side of 6" pipe. What is the stand pipe for ?? Its not hooked to pump correct??

    • @Riveraddictions
      @Riveraddictions  2 месяца назад

      What your missing I think is the stand pipe is what the water gravity flows up Into, as the pump sucks the 6 inch stack dry. When the pump sucks the 6 inch area dry, it filters it

      There is a bottom to the 6 inch pipe about 1 inch off the bottom of the tank. The 3/4 pipe goes through that to the bottom of cooler.

    What size(GPM) bilge pump and aerator? 500 GPM or less?

    • @Riveraddictions

      Hey its a tsunami 500 gph with a dannco aerator

    Could someone explain a little more on how this filter systems works. It sucks off the bottoms but the filter is at the top of the tube.

    • @Riveraddictions
      @Riveraddictions  Год назад

      The sealed plate inside the filter is about 1 inch off the bottom. The pipe runs through the notches in the 6 inch pvc. Then Water is forced to push up the pipe going through that plate in order to stay even with the water outside the filter stack. Meanwhile the pump is sucking the stack dry so the water constantly flows up the pipe which in turn vacuums off the bottom of the cooler.
