+dasteufelhund Pretty much
Love my 2017 Ecodiesel with 3:92s. If you can drive under 65, it gets unreal mpg, and it tows way better than my last hemi.
You guys should do a towing video if you can. ~7000 lbs maybe. BTW great videos so far.
Yeah it would be nice to see how it truly performs with s load like that maybe a future video.
sweet truck lots of Bosch parts on the new Ram trucks love it Fiat Ferrari bringing everything from Europe on these trucks👍👍👍
Yup a great engine so far
I've got a 2018 and I enjoy towing my boat with it. The hills killed my Tacoma, which is why I got the ecodiesel. Now I get 17 mpg towing and 25 on the freeway. In the Tacoma I got 17 on the freeway and 12 when I towed.
I just had a cherry, low mileage EcoDiesel RAM on the lot at the dealership I work at. Nice truck and decent power! If my credit was better, it'd probably be in my driveway..... It only lasted on the lot for maybe 2-3 weeks before it was sold.
I was heavily looking towards the Ford Eco boost until I saw your vids. you 10 list why you didn't purchase the Ford was very sobering. I like the idea of a diesel with the tow load advantage. the excellent milage is the cherry on the top. plus, the truck is all male testosterone if you ask me. great vids. thx
Not the best truck for a tech with a youtube fix-it channel to buy it sounds like. "Next episode, I talk about how it still works! Hit like and subscribe if you want more such content"
Good example of a turbo diesel maintaining speed up grade. I noticed the same when I traveled up to Maine from the Midwest and as a plus I got a 25.4 mpg Avg for the 2400 mile round trip in my 2015 Ram EcoDiesel Big Horn. That was not towing anything and just with the family and bags in the cab. Any of my older trucks I've owned Chevy 1500 (5.3L), Gmc 2500 (6.0L) or 2006 (5.7L) Hemi Dodge Ram couldn't touch that kind of mpg if the were shut off and towed on a lowboy trailer for the trip. Not a huge capacity tow rating at 7800lbs but I don't have anything to tow that big. My point is buy the truck YOU can afford and works for YOU. Honestly, if I needed a 2500 everyday I would have bought one. This is a great truck for light duty towing and doing it economically. This truck may not have the tow capacity as Ford's EcoBoost or even Ram's Hemi but it will tow everything up to IT'S 7800LBS capacity for my truck up and do it at a better MPG rating. Especially up grade.
have you encounter P24AE? i have this on my truck,
I love my ecodiesel. As much as I love it, it's not an exciting vehicle to drive. I've had the hemi ram and it was more enjoyable to drive. Maybe it's me just getting old but I would rather have the 28 mpg. 😞
How is your Eco diesel working. ?? I'm in the market for one and I saw a 2017 yesterday and it looked beautiful. Any tips or advise you can give me. ? I never owned a diesel before... any insight please.
Can fuel filters often
I have a question how long does it take for the def gauge to start going down ?
+Jonathan Saldana DEF gauge didn't start going down for a long time. I think I got 10k miles on a tank of DEF.
+Ram EcoDiesel Source yea I got that now lol I own a 2015 Laramie great truck
Nice!
Hey how many miles do you have on your ecodiesel now?
how do you feel about having that ecodiesel now that it has all those emission issues
Stephen Lozada what emission issues? I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel and haven’t personally experienced any emission issues nor have I been notified by my dealer or Jeep/FCA about any emission issues. I’m generally pretty aware of stuff like that, given that I got the Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel after my 2010 Audi Q7 TDI was bought back by Audi in June 2017.
There were no issues with the epa. Just paperwork and fishing for money by the govt... the Germans still take the cake as the biggest cheaters! #nevervw!
I have 11K on my 2018 EcoDiesel and no indication of any emission issues. I have to assume you might be referring to an older model like a 2014 or 2015. Those are not the ones being shown, driven, or talked about on this particular youtube video.
what gears do you have and is it 4x4?
High altitude in Pennsylvania? 0.o seen it all now. Jk but nothing like we see in Utah or Colorado obviously.
Good deal. Introduce your passenger next time. He seemed a little uncomfortable, probably a Ford guy. Let him drive and watch that frown turn upside down.
+2112bangkok He is a bit uncomfortable in all case. I have introduced him in past videos and no response. Allot of people are not good in front of a camera.
Ontario chrysler has had 10 cracked blocks never mind the heads, difficult motor to work on. Bring the truck to Canada, we'll show ya how we use em. Dodge new trucks failing.
The ecodiesel does not = power. It's a best case scenario for a fuel efficient engine that can still pull a decent bit of weight. For towing and performance the 5.7 Hemi eats the ecodiesel alive.
put 10k on it and see how good you pull
I've towed 10,000 lbs with mine, it's much better than a hemi, btw.
seems to me that what ever you do, don't piss off your passenger!! or, maybe you did already!! i've got an enclosed cycle trailer that i'll be towing with my Ram truck. it alone weighs 4000#, each cycle is weight 850# so together i'm thinking the trailer will be 5700# minimum. this truck SHOULD be able to handle it okay. my old F-150 handled it so-so, but I wouldn't trust trekking across the U.S. with it.
No he is always like that more like camera shy I would say
The only reason they are falling behind is they don't have the cruise control set or are poor at maintaining speed. If everyone was foot to the floor and you were pulling away, that would be different. Yes you'll get slightly better mgp's, but the "passing everything and leaving it behind" has nothing to do with the 3.0L.
+caprice572009 I had the advantage because we were in the mountains and I am driving a turbo based truck so my volumetric efficiency is much higher in the mountains than the NA vehicles and semi trucks well we all know why they are lagging. Drive a NA car at the higher elevations and drive a turbo car you will see what I am talking about......
I own a turbo car. I know how they work. The point is going up a grade faster than someone who isn't racing you or testing with you doesn't prove anything. I can take my cruze out and get to 60 faster than a camaro, but if the guy isn't trying, it's an invalid test. Get it?
I had my cruise set at the speed limit and it maintained it at those grades that was one hell of a test. Believe me if the others could go the speed limit they would. Again this was not a race just the fact I was able to maintain the speed limit no downshifting nothing is amazing. I have driven many cars and trucks throughout the years across the USA 6 times an nothing handled the mountains like this truck is all I am getting at here.
@@RamEcoDieselSource Cruz faster than a camero? 😂😂😂😂
Ram EcoDiesel Source I agree with you, I get it. All things being equal the RAM Eco Diesel has a huge drivability advantage over many vehicles on the road including NA types. What is being experienced is the ease of driving, pulling, hauling, up and down those hills (I know I have driven them) that is both comforting and building confidence in the stamina of this vehicle. Yes take a car Mustang or a Camaro with a V-8 and hammer it down it will beat the Eco Diesel up the hill, but pound for pound of vehicle weight and payload, even those fast cars are going to loose the battle if they too are hauling an equal load. The EcoDiesel is a true driver when it comes to handling hills and loads. Period.
A new vehicle should be reliable, I have a 1982 Mercedes Turbo Diesel, with a 4 speed manual. I drove her across the country then to Alaska, ran and drove perfect the entire way, she has 230,000, uses no oil and cruses at 80 all day. Just saying, when that truck is 35 years old will it still be going..
Yup that is how my 2009 Escape is 160k miles and going strong I won't give it up.
Looks like your passenger wasnt happy at all on that trip. Come on smile at least.Lol!!!
He wasn't and he is shy in front of the camera too.
I'd be pissed also if I was forced to ride on a Ram pick up truck
Passenger seems annoyed. Body language is rude.
