The stock tires are actually pretty decent in light snow and icy conditions. I'd be a little leery driving through deep snow on these tires though, even in 4wd. As long as the road has at least been plowed you should never have a problem. The biggest problem I've had with the stock tires in the 3 years that I've owned my Ram is hydroplaning on wet roads. Definitely gotta keep it around the speed limit or even a little under sometimes in the rain on those wranglers. When the time comes for new tires I think I'm gonna spend the money and get better quality tires.

Nice truck... I was considering one but the $5000 premium and the difference in fuel cost got me to buy the Ford. Gas here today is .89 diesel is 1.12 per liter.

the fuel economy is that much better on the dodge that the diesel would have still been cheaper to run especially if you haul, the Ford drinks gas like mad under any load the ecodiesel doesn't

are you happy with your purchase? i think im goin to get the same truck but with the hemi? ive never owned a dodge or a 4x4 truck. are the rams reliable? im trying to find a long term review but cant find anything. olease let me know thanks guys

Have you had any problems with the truck yet, it seems like way to many Ecodiesels had catastrophic engine failure at very low miles, was three at our local dealer the other year waiting for engines to be replaced, i would love to have one but am hesitant because of what I’ve seen

How well does 4WD Auto work? Would it have automatically gone 4x4 when you started slipping in this example?

you forgot to turn off esc TCS by have it in 4wd hi lock holding the TCS button for 10 second and it turn off have everything only in 4hi

Is it ok to drive 4H on snow and dry mixed road for 50mph or a couple of hundred miles?

+Cervelo R5 yes, provided all 4 tires are the same brand/type/size and are close in wear. I've seen too many transfer cases get destroyed by people ignoring the fact that rotational speed from front to back needs to be identical when the transfer case is locked.

+Leif Jensen when there is very light dust of snow or if the road was just plowed, I'd like to use 4H just to be safe. Because with nothing in the bed using 2wd in winter condition can get dangerous on freeway. You are saying it's okay to use 4H on light snow condition?

depends on the speed you're going and for how long. Different trucks can have different requirements too. Best thing would be to check your owner's manual.

I put it into 4x4 auto, it is in 2wd and if detects a slip it will send power to all 4 wheels
