Brillant! Thank you for the details. Very well made video. Exactly what I was looking for. I guess what we heard was the sound after getting the DB killer out. But still, great enhancement.

Hi new subscriber, and just got my R1300, Great video and well done on the instal, but I must comment your rather heavy on the tools tightening bolts, the exhaust clamp is a wrap around pinch clamp, not needed to be bolt stretched... All the best.
Hi thanks for subscribing and your comments, the reason I seem to be heavy on the tools is because I was using a short 1/4 drive ratchet for this reason to avoid over tightening things all the fixings were torque checked off camera, the exhaust clamp does also have a stop guide on the bolt to guide you on torque Hope this clarifies 👍🏻
@@NJWMOTO Thanks for the reply and clarity, and I do know I was reluctant and tongue in cheek with that comment, no offence meant, and hopefully non taken... @@NJWMOTO I agree. Question, you mentioned a DB killer in the Akra double barrel can. I was looking for it when I removed the carbon fiber end cap but there was nothing there. So you're saying the db killer is at the can's entrance where it connects to the cat/header coupler?
@@NJWMOTO Thanks! In your opinion, is it worth removing? Did you find it was worthwhile in terms of time spent to remove? Worth the sound difference? If so I'd rather go this route first since its free to see if I just stick with that mod vs also spending $ on a servo buddy.
Top video, well done. One question is what does the sound sound like when driving? Is the engine louder or can you hear something from the exhaust with the Acrapovic?
Hi thanks for your message, the note is much nicer it gives a nice growl like the previous GS did you also get a nice popping noise on the the over run coming down the gears on the quick shifter 👍🏻 I am aiming to go out and get some on bike and flyby comparisons soon 😊
@@NJWMOTO Hi, that sounds good. There seem to be some problems with an error message on the display. Has the cause been identified yet? That's what's stopping me from buying it. There must be a reason for this to happen. The device should work permanently. Do you have any idea why this occurs?
Hi Buddy, Information I received from Healtec was there was a small batch of units had a faulty component installed during manufacture, Healtec have sorted the issue and happy to replace any faulty units. I have not had any EML warning lights 👍🏻
One question, did you have to do any physical mods to the Akrapovic, similar to what you have done to the standard exhaust? There was no mentioning of any in the video?
Hi Mario, you could if it was re spot welded in to the pipe, however I don’t think anyone would do this as it cannot be seen and doesn’t make a huge difference. Removing does not make it a lot louder but definitely makes it sound so much better 👍🏻
Hi again, Just got my Healtech unit from Hungry, and started to fit, now my switch is totally different, and 3 position, has a rocker rather than like yours, Is your one a two or three position job.? Need to see if I can use in the same location as your have...
Hi Yes I have fitted this type for a friend, you can use the same mounting point but no need to make a bracket all you do is drill out the smaller hole to 8mm and put a 90degree bend in it and it fits perfectly keep your eye out for a short video to show this 👍🏻
@@NJWMOTO Awesome tips thank you, I was wondering if I could use the rocker switch in the same position as your setup, I assume your drilling to 8mm is for the Healtech switch holder and mounting to the same bolt on the rear bake fluid res.? How far off is your short video ?
@@NJWMOTO Hi, looking good, I fitted mine up today, just the lead to shorten for the three p rocker switch, where did you shorten your leads, I'm thinking to do the white plug end, any tips.? Many thanks for posting was very helpful all around :) J
Hi Buddy thanks for the comment, Im not qualified to comment on this as all dealers are different they always look at things differently i have seen many modifications overlooked on bikes undergoing warranty work. The OE servo is there for noise compliance proposes for road uses, as it says on the ESE unit it has two settings one for road use and one for track / race use. If the unit was fitted when a vehicle is presented with a fault at the dealer they would probably assess if it was possible that this could have affected the issue reported if its not fitted, they would not be able to make this assessment.
I wonder if there are any baffles that can be taken out of the stock exhaust. I think ill buy one of the servo eliminators first and see how it sounds before grabbing a slip on. Might not need to decat it after all :)
I believe the stock exhaust is pretty much straight through buddy most of the silencing is done in the intermediate muffler/ cat then its further quietened by the flap 👍🏻
@@NJWMOTO might not be worth grabbing an aftermarket one then. I was going to cut the whole cat off because my 1300 sounds a lot worse than my old 1250 did but I gotta say that switch made a big difference just listening to the audio on your video and I'm sure it's even better in real life.
