*Awesome video!* I'm going to try this for my hats! Thanks! *Love the Flag!* _Happy to see you leaving the mistakes in the video._ Now I need a heat press! 🤪
i like to do one take videos, and i like to leave in the mistakes, cause no one is perfect, and I don't want to portray myself that way! Thank you for the compliment!!!!!!!
it does work well, i use it for hats that already have the loop part of the velcro sewn onto them. then i put the hook on the patch. industrial strength velcro brand or generic has worked great.
Nice work. These are great ideas. Thanks for sharing. If you don’t mind me asking, what laser were you using and where do you get the substrates used to make these designs? Also can this be achieved with a 20w diode laser? Thanks for your time.
Patrick, I just received my acrylic red/white/blue sheet. Did you run a materials test before you started your patches? If you did what were the parameters you used if you would care to share. You mentioned off focus by 3mm up. Is that for all acrylics?
I have a question I have the same machines. What do you use to cut the sheets in half Because 12 x24 won't fit in the work area. Regular leatherette patches I use a utility knife.
Hello Patrick. I have the Lasermatic 10, an 80 watt JPT M7 Mopa, a 5 watt UV, a Thunder Nova 35-100 watt C)2, and a Laser Pecker 4. I just ordered some copper acrylic and also some gold/silver (just released today) from Lonestar Adhesive. Since you do not have a Laser Pecker 4 and Thunder Nova 35 but from watching your youtube video that you have the Lasermatic 10, a fiber laser, and a UV laser, my question to you is: of those 3 lasers (Lasermatic 10, fiber laser, and UV laser), which one would engrave the best? Wouldn't the UV laser perform the best since it has a very small dot size and it can engrave on organic product very well. Have you tried engraving the copper acrylic on all 3 lasers?
it depends on the material. i use uv for glass, fiber for metal, co2 for acrylic, diode for high detail and cutting accuracy. co2 gantry for larger areas. each has their own specialty. i also have a 1000w cleaner /cutter/welder!
What thickness of Duet are you using? I would assume the 1/32", but we all know what assuming can do. Also, I was looking at Duets web site, and see the material with a 3M adhesive, are you adding your LoneStar adhesive separately, to blank sheets? Thanks for the info in the video. Great vid

Great video! Lots of good hints and tips.
Thanks so much! i tried to include as much I could think of.
Great video. What thickness are you using, 1/16"?
yes! thank you for watching!
GREAT video Patrick. Do you have a video of the Red, White and Blue acrylic patch material?
Not yet! I need to obtain a sample of it first
This is an amazing video. Thank you so much
you are welcome. thank you for watching!
Can you give us a little description of the acrylic material you used. I did not see it in descriptions below, or did I miss it? Thanks Great video.
i used the gemini duets I sourced from JDS. Lone star ashesive is now selling the acrylic with adhesive already applied.
Hi… Cool channel! Does the Valcro method work well? Could you share what type of brand valcro you use if it works well to be peeled in and off.

i used the LaserMATIC 10w and gemini duets

i do not have the red/white/and blue yet. i would def run a material test. yes, 3mm up
Does this same technique apply with leatherette for a 10W diode? Do you have any settings I could start my tests with for that?
Thanks for the video🙂
yes, with leatherette run a lower power, faster.
I have a question I have the same machines. What do you use to cut the sheets in half

same here, utility knife or scissors.
great video
Thank you sir!

i added the lone star to a blank sheet. i am using the 1/16 duets. the 1/32 will work i like the look of the thicker duets.
Lonestar has it on their website now with their adhesive already attached. 😊
@@terrihumphries6659 yep, ill be working them making more how-to's!
Where do you get the patches?
i am cutting them out of sheet stock of gemini duets.
Acrylic and alcohol is not good.
no issues with gemini duets
