+Chris Kreager Only weekend that the running order at the top of the screen had the Lap counter in that style. They remodeled it to where it would generically fit both TNT/NBC the following week.
All of the pit crew, crew chiefs (Tommy Baldwin Jr. and Greg Zipadelli) and owners (Ray Evernham and Joe Gibbs) were fined $50,000 for their actions. Good news is Tony Stewart was not penalized.

Probably the most angry I have gotten during a race, 2004 had a lot of angry moments, Kurt Busch getting every lucky break to win it all, to Kasey Kahne getting crashed out of every race that he looked like he was going to win. Here, Kasey Kahne could not going because he had older tires than Tony, Tony thought Kasey Kahne was going to go faster than he did, and just was not expecting it. It was the crews fighting which escalated things.
Every lucky break? What about Atlanta? Blew an engine early and finished 42nd. Sure he was lucky a couple of times, but then again, everyone gets lucky once in a while.
Nascar 06 Total Team Control Challenge Jeremy Mayfield 19 Dodge Dealers UAW Dodge Charger Orange Crush 1:51:16,1:55:40 In this race he was in the 19 Dodge Dealers UAW DODGE Summer Dealers Dodge Charger as he narrowly missed a wrecking teammate then Kasey Kahne by virtue of Mayfield driving through the infield grass which then resulted in Kahnes and Tony Stewart's then home depot pit crews in a big fight on pit road also scoring Kahne out of the race and Stewart the winner alongside Mayfield finishing in the top 5 in 5th that day. In the challenge he was in the 2005 version of the 19 Dodge Dealers UAW Dodge Charger as the players job is to navigate the 19 car through the wreck but without going down the infield grass to complete the challenge.
Those camera shots NBC had were epic. Especially on the 1st lap. Zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom. NBC today doesn't do it right anymore.
RIP Chicagoland Speedway 2001 to 2019. No more racing there
Look at how full those stands are
When NBC was transitioning from it's Winston Cup feel to it's Nextel Cup feel.
Classic BP-Wally exchange at 1:53:55 -
Wally: "It happens in the booth all the time."
Benny: "Turn that camera off, 'cuz I'm fixin' to hit Wally."
This was my first NASCAR race seen in its entirety.
