There are many that believe that the black races are more closely related than they realize and at one point the American blacks and the island blacks and many others once occupied a great Kingdom founded by 12 brothers which produced 12 great nations each tribe having their own role...Kings, Priest, Musicians, Warriors etc... And it was a very powerful Kingdom but It was destroyed but outside jealous nations and domestic wars... Which resulted in Many being taken into captivity/slavery while many fled to the islands and started a new society..But the same enemies were the same ones that colonized the world with the help of others and went throughout the world searching for all the descendants of the 12 Brothers to change their history, language and names and dilute their bloodline by bringing in other races.. and making sure no more great Kingdoms were being established...Did you ever hear of that??

Karl Marx said that "Religion is the opium of the people". He did say that, but it has no real substance. It is a statement but we have no reason to believe it is true or that it is only religion that is used as an instrument of control. (Funny thing is that Marxism/Communism is one of the most deadly ideologies of the past 100 years, it was a tool of control and genocide like the Soviet Union and now modern day China where they censor and arrest journalists and there are millions of people in concentration camps in China). People use anything to control people even good things, for some religion is used to control for others it gives them freedom.

Wow. Its crazy how so many other cultures have to deal with this. I'm a black atheist who has ancestry in the south and am amazed by the mental slavery that goes on. Ppl who will shame and fight their own because they're conditioned sheep. Those same Europeans put American natives in correction schools and starved and beat them until they were stripped of their names and culture, but yet natives with European names will still defend Christianity and "the bible" while forgetting their own ways. Sad

    • @JMz685
      @JMz685 3 года назад +4

Christianity isn't just a european religion. Christianity from it's beggining was never a white religion, it was started by 1st Century Jews. Some of the most influential early Church Fathers were African and in fact their were African Missionaries that went to Europe well before Europeans went around the world.
Defending the Bible doesn't mean forgetting our own ways. You can both remember your culture and be a Christian, the two aren't mutually exclusive. Maybe people abused people under the guise of Christianity but that nonetheless does not mean that people are mindless sheep and in fact many people have good reasons to be a Christian.

Very wrong on all levels , the God of the bible is not the Palagi it’s dated back to Israel , the issue with constantine is incorrect the council of nicea was put together in 325 coz Ari’s the heretic was saying Jesus was a mini god , but the first council was in Jerusalem mentioned in book of acts where Paul , Peter and James sat with elders
Now you look at the manuscripts it dates back to first century
I do agree culture and religion shall never mix
Christ said spread the gospel to bring people to him not to religion , Christ condemned reliquary groups like Pharisees ,Sadducees

The missionaries came on the same boat with these soldiers but they had different agendas you can look at all the history all you need to do is research the maoris ,Hawaiians
Missionaries were never involved in negotiations with tribes over land etc
Missionaries were there to spread the gospel build safe havens and give help to some of the elderly people
In the book of acts one of the first conversions was when Phillip helped the Ethiopian eunuch who was reading the scrolls of Isaiah
Phillip was a Jew and Ethiopians African
The gospel is preached in Jerusalem then mesapotimia ,Antioch all these regions have no Palagis
So when the gospel reached the islands there were 2 groups on the same boat one was to conquer the other was to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ which was prophesied and commanded that the gospel shall be spread to all 4 corners of the world

I think that culture throughout Polynesia including Maori are distorted remnants of what our ancestors had. I think that pre missionary times our cultures already had some of those truths, some of which I believe became corrupted over time. I believe our people were a people of God and do recognise the spirit and are more receptive to Gods truths than others.
However I also believe religion has taken this path also. And the many truths that have been passed down through the ages have been distorted and corrupted and changed, creating a confusing and treacherous world for one seeking it.
The truth is out there, in its fullness and if you are faithful in you quest to seek it, you shall find it.

Las Vegas NV has a very large population of Mormon Samoans in which at first I found crazy because on the opposite, Ive only known of Mormons to be white. Just stating my observations here. In which in the joining the military then I met more people Samoans who were also Mormon and I was like dangg how though? Why Mormonism? Then I watched another video last night and found out of the missionaries who who with intentions of course, wanted Samoans to conform to Mormonism. And yes that is one specific way to influence a large population, by targeting their leaders first! BECAUSE they have influence on their people. This is very interesting. And then by many not wanting to conform of course ways were developed to FORCE many to conform.

I was so sheltered from the world and the history of it. Christianity is less than 200 years old in Samoa. That's a mere 4-5 generations. Our great great grandfather weren't even Christians. It is not an integral part of Samoan culture or Samoan life. It is ok to be atheist, agnostic, or secular. You don't have to belong to a religion, Christian or not, to be Samoan. When someone accuses you of being fiapoko or caving in to white man's atheism belief, let's ask them... who introduced Christianity to Samoa? Was it not the white man?
Fiapoko are those who cave in to this new religion and expecting everyone else to convert as well. If you found peace in Christianity, great. But it is unacceptable that villages in Samoa either shames or banishes you for not attending church.

Jesus is also saying show that exact same Love to your enemy...as hard as that can be...doesnt take Einstein to work out how much effect that would have on the planet if we all at least tried to live that way in regards to Love

I'm all for freedom of speech. But freedom of speech isn't a license for us to rewrite or distort history and demonize early missionaries or our Samoan ancestors who, after thoughtful deliberation, accepted Christianity. You spoke of research and that's a good thing. So, if I may, what accounts have you read and analyzed? What Samoan elders have you personally interviewed for insights? Forgive me for saying this but it appears to me you're simply regurgitating what other haters of Jesus and Christianity had said. I know it's fashionable these days to say of oneself, "I'm an atheist." I suspect many young people announce it to the world because it makes them appear intelligent. Christianity isn't a faith for "dull" people who can't think for themselves as you suggested. Christianity requires the complete employment of one's faculty. That's why Jesus taught His followers to "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy MIND" (emphasis added). I stopped watching your presentation when you spoke of someone wiping feces (I assume on your face?) for not going to church! That is not Christianity, my friend. And that is certainly not Jesus. I'm sorry to hear it happened. But you can't judge a faith by the abuse of its followers. Christianity is a beautiful relationship with God. And FYI, it isn't White Man's religion. I'm sure you already know that. For whatever i's worth, God bless you and may His light illuminate your mind.

Interesting talk. Though I did my research I came to a different conclusion that Christianity is true. I'm not a Christian because I'm Samoan, I'm Christian because I looked at the evidence and came to the conclusion that it is true.
Samoan and Christian isn't necessarily the same. But that does not mean that Christianity is false. Jesus was born in Judea not Samoa but that doesn't have an effect on whether Christianity is true. Also I heard some things about Rome and Constantine being the foundation of Christianity but there really is no evidence for that and actually I think we can establish according the early historians like Josephus and Tacitus that Christianity was established early on in 1st Century Judea well before Constantine. God bless.
Also the brother brought up something about people Judging other peoples God and telling them they're wrong. There is nothing wrong with that, that is how we learn and distinguish what is true because you essentially are doing the same thing. We all make judgements. When you said something about Christians telling other people they're wrong you are making a judgement and their isn't anything wrong with that. Ironically you calling someone "Judge-gy as f*ck" is in itself judgmental.
Lets move past these arguments because I believe that they get away and distract from the actual substance. In my experience people use these arguments as gotcha arguments. The real substance is whether Christianity is true and I believe that if you look at the historical and archaeological evidence for Christianity and you put your bad experiences and abuses to the side that Christianity is actual more plausible than what most people give it credit for.

Interesting discussion. Kaps, you have a lot of valid points that, for the most part, christians have shied away from discussing - particularly people like us (samoans) where religion is so ingrained in our culture. I do concede that a lot of the claims you make against christianity are definitely practices that shouldn't be, like the reading out of the taulaga etc - there's not even a biblical precedent for that. However, I think there's a few fallacies made, e.g a genetic fallacy is made at 2.25 and a few ad hominems throughout. There are a plethora of theological and philosophical arguments that still render christianity to be true that i can think of. I know this is only a 10 minute clip, so would love to hear a thorough discussion on this from you

The Samoan Civil Wars was not due to atheism as Samoans were always religious people and were practising ancient mysticism and worshipping Polynesian deities prior to the arrival of Christianity. Atheism is the lack of belief in any God so they were never atheists. Also, the others you mentioned are false equivalencies as they have little to nothing to do with atheism. You seem to be confusing atheism with totalitarianism and totalitarianism with communism. The latter two are social constructs while atheism is a spiritual, or lack thereof, one. No one has waged war or killed people over or have tried to convert people to atheism. The same can't be said for Christianity or other belief systems that have started war for the advancement of their religion and to spread their doctrine. Even if what you claim is true give us the stats and casualties caused by religious wars so we can compare.

Every generation from our ancestors that converted to Christianity has chosen for themselves to follow Christ. I myself was forced to go to church as a young person but grew to hate it coz it was all I knew. But as I got older being in the streets and in prison living with many people of different backgrounds it drew me back to the god of Israel our father who sent his only son. After seeking peace and joy in the world and other gods I knew this Christ is the real thing through my experiences in life.
Brother kapisi for you to say our ancestors just rolled over and converted is an absolute insult to their courage and integrity. Our ancestors were warriors meaning they were brave and would die for what they believed in. On top of that courage came intelligence as you would know we were the original sea mariners of the most treacherous seas navigating through the pacific using the stars showing how highly capable and competent they really were. A lot of you brothers who claim to have left Christianity never really knew what Christianity is. You were hurt by people or didn’t like what churches were doing which shows your faith was in man and not in god. If you read the bible front to back and out your faith in those words you would’ve had a relationship with god that no man could seperate yet Yous went to church coz you were forced like the rest of us but difference is I see now why our parents forced us is because they love us and are trying to save us from suffering. Yeah they could’ve communicated it better but hey they were only doing what they thought was best according to their upbringing and life experience. I’m so grateful to my grandma for the discipline and hard lessons I was taught as a child coz like the bible says we can stray away as we get older but we will always come back and that I have. I thank god for allowing me not to get lost in my rebellion. He took me back like the prodigal son and instead of punishment that I deserved he gave me a new life ❤️ one full of fulfilment though I have not much money. A heart full of love though many have left me. A heart of forgiveness to forgive those who hurt me ❤️ all that glory goes to god and I just encourage anyone reading this to please read the bible for yourself don’t listen to me or pastors for all men fall short. God sent his son to be the example the way tue truth and life ❤️ amen

  • @lesblase3667

These knuckleheads are going to compare Tagaloa (who’s dead by the way) to the Living God of the Bible. Yeshua HaMashiach Jesus Christ. That says a lot. Tagaloa couldn’t create a grain of sand out of nothing let alone be God of the universe. Tagaloa couldn’t even save himself. God of the Bible died & Rose again. Tagaloa is not even worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as the Living God.
Kapisi. I agree with you. There are many hypocrites amongst the Church but that in no way discredits Christianity one bit. If you had read a Bible, any Bible, you could see with your own eyes who follows Christ with their mouth & who serves Him with all their being. Seeing such thing only validates the Bible like I’ve seen someone mention here. It doesn’t take away from the faith, it only strengthens it. I heard you allude to the idea that Christians believe blindly? We don’t believe for the sake of it. There’s Living Proof of Him all around me & all around you. Unless your locked in a box in the middle of nowhere I’m assuming you see evidence of His creation all around you. Nothing can create Something out of Nothing. That’s scientifically impossible. Not only that it’s logically stupid to believe such thing. That’s atheism. Stupid lol A bunch of nothing. These people call Babies in the womb a Fetus. A fetus? Not knowing Fetus means baby. Latin. 🤦‍♂️ But our God says he know us intimately & that it’s He that forms us in the womb of our mothers. Atheism don’t care for life. They call babies “parasites” Imagine a worldview where babies, Gods creation are known as parasites. A child is the Greatest Blessing a mother & father could ever receive & these athiests call them parasites? Straight from satan himself
Critique your own worldview the same way you do with the Bible & Christianity. Don’t be like the rest who are disingenuous in their quest for “Truth” only to cherry pick what is comfortable to their itching ears. Which means you would actually have to read the Bible for yourself instead of hearing from what someone else told you about it. The Bible is the easiest Book on Earth to find. It’s everywhere. It’s the number 1 selling book of All Time! 2nd place doesn’t even come close. If you haven’t read the World Number 1 Best seller Of All Time then I suggest you have a read. See what’s inside.
Find peace with the True, Living God that Loves You Kapisi. Before it’s too late. You don’t want to die opposing Him. I wish that on no one. Seek Him while you’re still here. If you haven’t read the Bible & in context then I find it hard for one to discredit it without ever reading it. It is disingenuous to me. For instance, I never read the Quran before but because of my muslim friends that I love, I use to go around saying that Islam is a religion of peace. That we all worship the same God etc I believed that with all my heart till my curiosity lead me to buy a Quran out of my own pocket then to only realise (years later) that what I was saying about Islam was not true. In fact it was far from True. Islam is not a religion of peace. Shocked me to my core that what I believed so much to be true was the opposite of what I thought to be true. Sometimes truth is hard to stomach but it doesn’t change the Truth. Islam is just an example. The beautiful Muslim people we know don’t represent Islam. Not in the same sense a Christian would represent the Bible cover to cover unashamed. The Muslim will believe bits & pieces. Because if they believed in all of Islam then they would have to defend it. But they can’t. Like the athiest.
Forget those false gods. Call on Christ & pick up that Bible. Only Jesus Christ can save you from the wrath that’s about to come. Call Him today

Lmao God died and rose again . Think about that for a second . Does the almighty ever die ? Mate you haven’t read the Quran I don’t think. The bible has stories of incest and killing innocent babies women and donkeys. Never hear about that in the church , unashamed huh ? . Don’t talk about Islam when you don’t even know ya bible my bro . Peace and blessings upon you none the less .

Time for a debate live. . . I don’t mind being the defence for Christianity & Samoa vs King Kapisi and his views on the Christian faith in Samoa.
Kapisi, I understand where you’re coming from, but you are very wrong.
    Sau ta talanoa
Topic of debate “can you be a Samoan and not believe in Jesus?”
