I wanted to mention that 😄 I remember a group of young Americans visiting my hometown. One of the girls gifted me a sample of Happy and I was enchanted by it. I was 19 in 1998 and wore it to my workplace and got few compliments. I just found it on a website for a very good price and I ordered it because I have the feeling it will soon disappear from the market.

I love that you mentioned Safari, I always coveted it when I worked at a perfume counter for Christmas at a local department store, but my money was always going into Chanel fragrances or YSL as I could only afford one special fragrance at a time. I recently purchased a bottle at a great price and still love it, reminds me of a modern classic. Other 90s favourites of mine were Noa by Cacharel, Gucci Envy, Amarige... I feel like there were some huge Chanel fragrances too, but they may have been 00s

In the 90s I started wearing fragrances. As a 13yr old boy I saved up for a small bottle of Coolwater. Since then fragrances have been part of what I put on. My top 3 90s fragrances
    1. CoolWater
    2. Green Polo
    3. Escape for men
I still go for designer stuff. Tried niche stuff but it's just not my thing. In my rotation now Armani Stronger with You, Armani Aqua di Gio profumo, Chanel Allure homme sport and Chanel Bleu de Chanel..... also I must admit I bought Coolwater Intense recently. Its actually pretty good. Nothing like original Coolwater but it's good in its own right. Shoulda been called SweetWater honestly. Its mandrin, coconut, and amber. Amazing stuff.

Yes! Organza! I bought it when I was 22. That’s about 20 years ago. I, of course, adored it for a long time, eyeing the add of a very elegant woman in a white evening dress. To me it symbolized elegance, beauty and adulthood (but like what being an adult means to a 20 year old kid). Very enticing! So I remember loving it and hating it when I finally got it. It gave me awful headaches, but the scent itself was heavenly for me! I need to repurchase it. Also, Amarige is so great also! Must get that one also. A unique and unforgettable smell. In the 90's, I was wearing Sand & Sable when it came in a frosted shell 🐚 bottle, Rochas Tocadilly, Benetton Hot, Byblos, Clinique Happy, Revlon She, Inis Energy of the sea which you could buy overseas, then I got into Ck One (CLASSIC!), Tommy Girl, Love Spell, and Sun-Ripened Raspberry by Bath and Body Works. I really adore Jovan White Musk, reminds me of my Mother! Least favorites from the 90's were Fahrenheit for men, Red Door, Angel, and Eden. BB Nude is a special one, I did not appreciate it then but I do now🤓🥰

    Hey, Veronica.
Very nice video, it reminds me of moving from the northern part of my country to the south where I 've been living for the last 28 years!
I remember when I had smelled L'Eau D'Issey by Miyake, it was so fresh so youthful, I had first smelt it on a young waitress at a club and I was obsessed with it. I bought , it wore it and enjoyed it.
I was also wearing Ysatis( there's still some perfume in the bottle), I still find it so heavy now.
Dune was really something else. I still have the bottle which had no atomizer, you just took off the lid and put on the fragrance, so you had to be very careful not to drop the bottle!
I have a mini Rumba and I like it.
My everlasting love is Dolce Via by Dior, I 've gone through bottles of this one. Currently I have a 30 ml bottle. I adore this fragrance.
You brought so many memories back...
    Thanks for sharing.

Lovely! It's amazing how smells can take us back to these memories of yesterday. I never wore Ysatis but I imagine it is quite strong. L'eau D'Issey has withstood the test of time! Still gorgeous even among today's favorites. Thanks so much for watching! 🥰🥰🥰

So many memories here!! Gap OM is 90s all the way for me. All those gap body sprays too. Loved them all. Tresor, Cashmere Mist, White Diamonds, Safari, 5th avenue, Vanilla lace, fire & ice, Poeme, Amarige, Charlie red. I remember Mesmerize a lot because my aunty loved it and Avon Far away. transitions from the 90s - 2000s, for me, were Contradiction, D&G By, Versace Versus, Hypnotic poison, Angel, Gucci Rush and many more. such a good video

Vanilla fields and sunflowers were my 90’s signatures lol, before bath and body works hit the scene.
I was in junior high/high school during that decade, so I was all about value! Lol
    Charlie white was another.
My mother always wore Mackie by bob Mackie

When I worked for Dior the only people who bought Tendre Poison (still one of the strangest fragrances I've ever smelled) were the Chinese tourists and exchange students. :D It hit the blind spot of every person who approached the counter otherwise, ahaha. Thank you for this video, I felt like I was on drugs the whole way through-- vintage fragrance related content and discussion about our personal cultural memories around all these retro-throwbacks make me genuinely happy. I'm not even going to begin listing the fragrances I wore or which were popular where I lived in the 1990s. What I WILL say, is that the young folks of today have NO IDEA how incredibly lively, characterful and potent fragrances can be. Everything had sillage, tenacity and that impossible to describe sparkle and 'fullness of character' which is absent in the year 2022. I have no idea why (aside from IFRA's dominance), I just know that I'm not imagining things. Things were just different back then: perfume= great performance and character; make up= terrible. Er, that first launch of Revlon Colorstay foundation anyone? It was like smearing your face with quick drying clay. The quickest way to freak someone out was 'do' their eyebrows for them. Pencil, expert powder application, completely natural well groomed finish-- forget it, anything on the eyebrows made most women intensely uncomfortable and self-conscious as if everybody was staring at their theatrical twin slugs. You coudn't convince them otherwise. Brows were not a 'thing' in the 1990s. Neither was winged liquid liner or fake eyelashes. Not 1990s make up staples at all. Oh I miss fragrances really BRINGING IT, y'know.... *sighs* Thanks Veronica for this SUPER fun video.

    • @VeronicaSays
      @VeronicaSays  2 года назад +1

Thanks so much! Theatrical slugs. 🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious! Regarding potency of fragrances, you are exactly right - nothing like the powerhouses of yesteryear. Keep in mind though that one other factor working against us is that sense of smell dulls with age. It's a medical fact.
