Hi Luke - I own a bunch of the afffordables you've talked about here and totally enjoy them all! I know Cabochard Gres is a challenge for many but I love it - the edp and the edt. Our family lost a beloved aunt this past Saturday - so in her honor - and because she was such a lady - I wore Chanel's 31 Rue Cambon - the most lady like perfume I own - on Saturday. In fact, I've worn classics for her - all this week. Today - one of my favorites - Shalimar - because she wasn't just a lady - she was a ray of sunshine - with a wonderful sense of humor!
Hi there! Cabochard is amazing; it’s really growing on me. The dry down is really nice. I’m so sorry for your loss. Wearing classic fragrances seems like an excellent way to commemorate and pay tribute to your aunt. Thanks for sharing this sad moment with us.
Luke thank you again for this video! I hope people are aware of how wonderful these perfumes are and that one does not have to spend a lot of money to participate in the marvel that is classic perfumery. I am writing this comment because I just realised Emeraude by Coty has been discontinued 😥. It was wonderful, around since 1921, and composed originally by François Coty himself! Now the only version that is around is a modernised release of it in a different name and by a different company which is extremely expensive. What a shame! I recently discovered Chape75 by Bachs from Spain. It is a No5 type perfume, a more serious chypre leaning one. It is from the 60s and extremely affordable. I highly recommend!
We’re here to raise awareness. The classics that are still available, which used to cost regular retail prices, are now heavily discounted. Sadly, that also means they can be discontinued at any time. I’m sorry to hear that Emeraude was discontinued. Thank you for watching. 🙂
I was wondering actually, do you have any Mauboussin fragrances? Those appear to be excellent value, but I've not experienced any, I wondered whether you had?
Hi Claire! Believe it or not, I’ve been eyeing the brand for some time now. I really want to get the o.g. Mauboussin. I remember reading somewhere that all of their fragrances are great quality.
I adore vintage perfumes ❤️ Today I sprayed just once on my wrist Must de Cartier parfum and I smelled it all day long, such an amazing blend, exquisite creation 🥰
Congrats on reaching nearly 1,000 subscribers! I discovered your channel early on so it’s been fun seeing the number grow. I always love hearing about affordable gems. My favorite from this list and also in my collection is Sun from Jill Sander. My scent of the day was Infusion D’Iris from Prada, which I’m lucky enough to always find partial bottles of, and also on discount sites. 😉
Hi there! I know, I remember seeing your comments. Thank you so much for your support!😊 I tried Infusion d’Iris at the airport once. Sadly, I don’t remember how it smells…😕 I love my partial bottles!
I wore Anais Anais back in high school. I love Elizabeth Taylor fragrances and have a few in my collection. I wore Gardenia last week when the weather was quite warm and the fragrance is sweet without being cloying and yet very gardenia without being too heavy. It comes in a very beautiful bottle as well.
Gardenia was my mother's favorite flower. E T Gardenia is my absolute favorite gardenia scent. I also love Tea Rose by the Perfumer's Workshop. I receive so many compliments when wearing these fragrances.
My scent of the day was Pleasures by Estée Lauder. I remember purchasing Rare Gold years ago and I loved it. I need to purchase a bottle, I love your videos so much. 😊
Hi there, thank you!🙂 Oh, Pleasures is another good one. I love the Estée Lauder classics. I hope you didn’t mind that I didn’t include any prices in AUD but I’m pretty sure most of these scents are just as affordable in Australia as well.🙂 Thanks for watching!
Oh, that’s amazing!🙂 Good to know. Under another video, I had someone from Australia ask me to include prices in all my videos. I know it wasn’t you… I just remembered when I saw your username. Sorry.

I love Cabochard , Diamonds and emeralds and green tea. I wear Cabochard all the time and I love the work of Bernard Chant. Aramis is basically Cabochard for men. Chant was the perfumer for both
I've purchased Jil Sander Sun thanks to your recommendations and I really love it. ❤❤❤ Also, Loulou will be added soon to my collection and I'm so happy. :)🎉🎉🎉
Hi Luke! I decided to be a copycat….. I’m wearing Amarige😂 I’m going to have to eventually try Lou Lou. And Jill Sander. Nice that they’re so affordable. 😊 I really enjoy Casmir. And AA Vanilla! Both are winners for me! I’ve never tried anything from Jovan, even though it was everywhere when I was younger. 😂 It’s wonderful to see videos showcasing affordable fragrances…it’s possible to smell great for less! Thank you for another great video!😊

Someone on Fragrantica recently mentioned that ET Diamonds & Emeralds is a good substitute for the now discontinued Versace Blonde. I want to try it now, and you convinced me to give Cabochard another chance, too. 😁 A lot of these I have or once had back in the day. Nice video!
Hi there! I haven’t tried Blonde but I can totally see why they would be similar. Cabochard is well… stubborn! It’s not the easiest fragrance to love. Thanks for stopping by!🙂
What a lovely video, these scents are right up my alley! I'm only 26 but a big vintage frag lover, I don't care if they smell "old" on me I wear them anyway! 😂😂😂 Lou Lou is one of my all time favourite perfumes, I used to have Sun and Green Tea, and I have Tosca right now 🥰
Hi Luke. This has brought me back in time, and I loved it. I love that we have both spoken about Anais Anais within the same week. It's TOTALLY nasty to our sensibilities these days, but I have to admit that I love it, too, and probably always will, plague and all! :) You're sooo close to 1000! Congratulations!
Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. That’s such a coincidence, isn’t it? Anais Anais seems to be hated by so many people; I get so many comments from people who can’t stand it. But I still talk about it; it’s a vibe.🙂 Thanks!🎉
Thank you. I like your descriptions and comparisons. I love Casmir and Anais Anais. I try to built my vintage collection. I will check Elizabeth Taylor. Greetings😉🌷

I knew you were going to compare Chantilly to Shalimar. Who knows?! One can have scent siblings all around the world!😂 I’m so curious about Babycat. I thought about picking up a dupe. Yes, Chantilly has a hint of Shalimar in there for sure but it’s a different fragrance. If you’re looking for vanilla, I’d say Shalimar is a better choice; it has more vanilla.🙂

LOU LOU! I need to sniff that again. The one I sniffed at a discounter HAD to have been off, because it was so animalic. I covet that 80's scent. Sun!!! I remember walking around Geneva smoking cigarettes, eating Mövenpick ice cream and smelling of Sun. Oh how I loved it. It certainly wasn't cheap when i had it, or was that because I was a broke au pair spending all my money on...well...cigarettes and ice cream!
I don’t get any animalic notes in the current version. It’s sweet, powdery, and vanillic but also slightly synthetic smelling. Wow! Beautiful memories! Why is this getting me nostalgic too? I spent some time in Switzerland too minus the cigarettes, haha!😂
I'm soooo happy to know that it's not just myself and my 30 year old daughter who think Anais Anais is vile! We bought a bottle for our Fragrance Christmas...and it was the bottom of the list, without a doubt!!!
