No, substance reacts with oxygen.
So imagine you are turning on your gas stove, the LPG (LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS) is released and you give a little heat in order for the reaction to occur. The heat reacts with the LPG and oxygen acts as a fuel. Meaning the fire (heat and light) needs oxygen to keep burning. It's very complex and we would learn about it in higher classes.
If there is anything wrong about my explaination, please tell me because...I am also an 8th grader😅
