Do they not get these in chemistry class? Chemistry teachers are supposed to do these and many others for their students. Then again if you take chemistry in college.
@@cbernier3 While I am much older and took chemistry many years ago- my five kids got nothing as charming and interesting as this presentation. Chemistry was taught with such a focus on abstractions and presented with such boredom that there is little wonder that no one wanted to pursue it. I had a math prof for master's stats who helped me understand that it all applied to the real world. I got an A even though I had believed that I was not good at math. @@alanhillyard1639 Well our dear professor certainly reinforced PV=nRT !!!!
Very entertaining. This is the kind of teacher kids need to inspire them.

They weren't nervous. They thought it was funny.
@@nohandle62 Yes. Ever heard of a joke?
@Ali Hassan Jokes don’t need to be obvious, what on Earth are you talking about.
But yes, this one is very obvious. There’s a reason 700+ people liked the comment.

Damn why doesn't he have more time?
TED talks are supposed to be short.
Too long, and it gets boring. But this guy knows how to get and keep the audience's attention throughout 15 mins
@@altr. there another video with more than hour with same person just search about the name in youtube
Because then he'd have to do actual chemistry rather than talking about chemistry in general and barely explain anything
maybe it was part of the act to make us feel like he is running out of time
This man is wonderful, engaging and naturally amusing! Also, rather than come off as a 'motor-mouth', his ongoing talking gives a sense of constant activity, of confidence and of excitement and complete command over the subject material.
The reason they only give him 15 minutes is so that he won't blow the whole stage up
Underrated lmao
I like your thinking,,,😂
I like your thinking,,,😂
It was 20 minutes but they couldn't show him when he blew his hands off. :-)

This was the most chaotic TED talk I've ever seen
Much to its benefit
Very orderly chaos...
This hit me emotionally to see a teacher at work in these times. Kudos to you Sir! We should learn every day like this!
this guy is the embodiment of "i have a test next period and havent studied yet"
I request RUclips, should invent something More than a like button for this kind of videos👌
They do... You can add the video to your favourites.
Legit holding down the like button for a long time should make it a love button.
It's called the subscribe button 😂
yeah you should be able to pay to "Happy-cry" videos
this one would need a flame butten, becuse its that lit
I love this guy.
His fire lecture from the university with his 2 helpers was fantastic as well.
When a professor gets you really involved, has fun and teaches you at the same time, they are really a great teacher.
I had a blast watching this. He talked about the subject so well and with so much enthusiasm that I actually couldn't keep my eyes off of him waiting to see what he will do next.

Ah, Andrew :D love the guy. A couple years ago, when he visited my uni I was initially angry, that despite having a chemistry showman doing a PhD in this facility they invited someone else. But it was worth seeing him. And now - he has just expanded my chemistry shows with one trick :D

Dr Szyldo: 15 MINUTES?!
that's more than a year i doubt a school year would torture you for that long
The timing with his speech and the third explosion was incredible.

Yeeaaah it was cool
Best Ted talk I have seen yet. From professional to mad scientist, all the while entertaining. This, ladies and gentlemen is how you get young minds interested in complex understanding.
Why schools are so boring is beyond me, I have learned from these talks that you can make anything interesting/fun/engaging if you just relay the information in a light and simple way.
If I had this guy as a teacher, I would have been at the front of the class instead of the back sleeping.
I was more impressed by his non stop teaching rather than experiments.
I've never seen someone speedrun a lecture. Science Communication is so important!
It is too bad that all young people could not have such a teacher for chemistry. This is great and educational. He is charming.
I now believe that our very finest teachers should be teaching at earlier stages than university. What I remember of my high school chemistry is that my teacher drowned when his car went into a canal after an accident and the electrics failed so that he could not get out. His replacement was a sour puss.
@Babu Rao Ganpat Rao Apte Fantastic. People like you can change the world! Good luck.
Well, this might be good for a single day of intro to chemistry, but he's hardly teaching anything at all. There's quite a lot of details he left out about every one of these reactions
@@Toastmaster_5000 -step one is to get the audience to listen. No further steps are possible without the first.
I live his demonstrations so much! At the middle of his presentations, he always has to pick up the pace because he's running out of time and he always manages to pull it off like champion.
Crazy how brilliant minds work, it's like his head was full of so many ideas and he couldn't pace himself to explain his ideas he just did them and commented over his actions which is a neat way to keep the audience focused, every second that passed you asked yourself, what is next? I love how he breaks down the process and yet a few people who watch this video still maybe confused but those who've already taken chemistry, you think the explanations to why is so rudimentary or basic.
Me: Are you a mad scientist or a comedian?
Scientist: Yes.
you answered by yourself.

I wish he was my chemistry teacher. Than I would have understood chemistry much better.
He is. One person commented and said he was their chem teacher and would take them to the roof of the school for big explosions.
Same here.
How is it that always the ones that teach in school are bad at teaching? Explain the logic to me please?
@@vedantsridhar8378 no no no. You got it wrong. It's not that the one who teach at school are bad, they are good too but the way this guy portray chemistry is much more fun and entertaining and more prone to understand easily which is what makes him different from the regular school teachers.👍
