This is a fraction of my first piece for wind ensemble, along with Crow Dance and Moon and Stars. It didn't flow well, so I split it into three.
If you would know how I write now, these older pieces are weird to read. Clarinets I, II, and III are all independent, there's only two horns, overall thin orchestration, etc. I've fixed a lot of these weaknesses in my more recent writing.
I will say, however, that these three pieces aren't completely original to how they were. I gave each of them a fresh coat of paint and some tune ups. The clarinets at the beginning, for example, were originally all in unison instead of in 6ths and octaves as they are here.
