I actually know Halkun the creator of the original 2010 video as i worked with him back when i did tech support for a place that did internet access gateways for hospitality locations. Nice guy and was a decent programmer. if i remember he did have a program that helped him insert the frame of the enterprise D into minecraft from what he told me. although dont know much after that as i think the last time i saw/talked with him would be 2011/2012 before he went to another job. but he is another big trekkie and i even saw him in talking to one of the youtubers when they where at the vintage computer festival midwest a few years back (you see him around the 16:33 mark of the "Vintage Computer Festival Midwest 14 - Krazy Ken's Tech Misadventures" video on the Computer Clans channel) and he did talk about the 1:1 project he did

Ya I'm not sure of the specifics that TrekCraft uses but my boyfriend does make it seem easier than placing it all block by block, I'm pretty sure they can upload frame models to move it along, and they can build half of it and make a mirror image for the other side. But all the interiors are "handmade" and all the color choices are delicately placed. I remember my bf being so proud bc he got picked to make the EntD bridge, it was gorgeous

Halkun used the scanned schematics of the floor plan of the enterprise, and using photoshop , changed the contrast of the images to make the outer shell and interior walls be black and everything else white... each deck was converted into minecraft blocks at a certain height, black = cobbler, white = air. Repeated the process for each deck separating each of them with 4 blocks or something to get the right ratio.
This is how that original outershell seen in the video came to be.

    So glad they kept going...
When he first unveiled it on the Minecraft community, he just said "So, I've been working on this project, and I wanted to get some impressions, and maybe suggestions..."
And drops the world's FIRST mega-build in history. Before that first framework (and maybe part of ONE deck partially built), nobody had realized just how BIG it was possible to build in Minecraft. People pulled the file down, thinking there might be a cool house design, or maybe even a small village... And had their minds BLOWN.
It was like there was a collective indrawn breath within the community...then silence. As people around the world suddenly had their (Minecraft) world expand around their mind in ways they'd never before even CONSIDERED. And then they jumped into their game, started new worlds, and began to dream (and build) BIG.
All because one guy looked at his minecraft world, and thought 'If I can build ANYTHING...could I build...THIS?' and without asking anyone if it was possible (he wanted to find out for himself), just started DOING it. Not just that, but without any intent, simply DIDN'T MENTION IT until he'd gotten as far as you see in this video. THEN comes in with a 'Oh, by the way...' Epic.

We did actually use early map editing tools but most of the interior details were hand placed and a lot of creative solutions had to be found to get around early creative mode's limitations. I built most of the hull layer by layer using various programs and finished the more rounded and complex sections by hand. I would say grand scale sculpture in Minecraft does qualify as a historically significant art form.

Even when I was young, I had the same idea about 6 years ago from now, to build a realistic world in Minecraft, and I built the city of Algiers🇩🇿, Cairo🇪🇬 and Dubai... The important thing... I wish you success 😉🇩🇿💪

Bees can perceive time. A study was done where the bees would be taught to leave their hive at the same time every day, then all light, and basically anything that can possibly indicate a difference in time was removed and they were sent thousands of miles to a different time zone and they all left the hive at the same time because they had jet lag. So unless bees can sense the rotation of the earth, they can perceive time. Thus, a lot of animals probably can.

The main person who completed the latest 2 versions of the enterprise D is guy named Lord atrocities. He has videos documenting the entire process. Granted many people helped him but overall the interior design and layout was his creative endeavor.

I remember seeing something about the Enterprise D model in Minecraft on RUclips back in 2014. As I remember, it was about an 8 minute video of a guy walking around the bottom of the Enterprise's wire frame narrating something. I was 9 or 10 at the time, and assumed the project was being worked on by multiple people, and I had no knowledge of software like WorldEdit. In the years following, I would wonder how that project was turning out. I was a major Star Trek Next Generation fan at the time, so the project stuck in my memory. It's cool to find out they've made 2 more ships since then.
