Bowie's,absolutely a musical genius. I live on an island called Tasmania, Australia. There is a world-renowned art museum here called .Mona .Well, the owner, David Walsh, is a Bowie fan .So he bided for the original hand-written lyrics from 1972 by Bowie himself for starman when they went up for auction. He ended up paying 339,000 for an A4 size sheet of paper. It's on display currently.

This song was used in the movie "The Martian". I was 13 years old when it was released (1972) and never remembered hearing it before I saw the movie a few years ago. I came straight to RUclips to hear the entire song. It was worth it.

Bowie is indeed a genius. He used the same one octave stretch in his "Star-man" phrasing as was used in the "Some-where" from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Wizard of Oz). It was catchy in SOTR, and it was definitely catchy in Starman.

Bowie is a genius! We used to get high and listen to this song and wish so hard to meet intergalactic visitors. (Then came the movie Independence Day.) Aladdin Sane, Ziggy Stardust, he was a chameleon and you really can't find a bad song. (You did Under Pressure) It's good to have you back.

This is a great song from David Bowie, classic Bowie I would call it. He was such an iconic figure and a great musician, influenced so many other musicians too. So many great songs, 'The Man Who Sold The World', 'Heroes', 'Rebel Rebel', 'Changes', 'Life on Mars', and so many more. Cheers George, please pass on my very best wishes to Patrick. Good to see you've changed the Deep Purple hashtag description to David Bowie, hope my comment helped!

Bowie from this era was very special indeed, the combination of David Bowie writing the songs and Mick Ronson arranging the strings and playing lead guitar was pure musical genius. You should check out The Man Who Sold The World and Life On Mars two more Bowie bangers from this era.

David Bowie was one of the most talented, and one of the very coolest, persons on Earth. (Watch any interview with him, he will make you fall in love with him!) But he did deserve the title of "Star," man....

Yeah, he did change a lot and even combined super powers with other artists sometimes. Bowie may have had more than a musical relationship with Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones lead singer) but I don’t know that for sure. Lol, I wasn’t in the room with them. I wasn’t born yet I don’t think. Anyway, Bowie had the kind of voice that reminds me of a stringed instrument. He played his vocal cords like he had a violin bow or something, it’s hard to explain. His voice is versatile and sexy. Although he is gone, his music and artistry is immortal and will hopefully inspire new generations of musicians!

Very cool. Love the emotion in this song. Creative genius! More famous songs (so many!) are: "Ziggy Stardust", "Life on Mars", "Suffragette City", "Changes", "Heroes", "Fame" w/ John Lennon singing backup, "Let's Dance" w/ SRV on guitar, "Under Pressure" w/ Queen. For some super hard rock Aerosmith (they just announced retirement), try "Nobody's Fault". Thanks!

Bowie, without words, capable of going from punk to pop stopping at all seasons...R:I:P....What's up brothers, I was born in '69, I belong to the generation "of no future", the generation of disillusionment, most of my childhood friends died before they were 25 years old. I would like you to listen to this song, People Who Died - The Jim Carroll Band, as a tribute to all of them, and give me your opinion. The lyrics are harsh, you may think that it does not match the music that makes you dance, death is not a celebration, but as we said, live fast, die young and you will be a beautiful corpse.

George, this album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars, is a masterpiece. It's a concept album about an alien coming down to earth to save the dying planet, forms a rock and roll band, and allows his ego to crash and burn the band. It's truly epic. From the album, you must hear Suffragette City and Rock and Roll Suicide. Also check out his song, Young Americans, from his R&B/Soul persona.

    First Of May. Holiday.
    Don't Forget To Remember.

Eyes That See In The Dark.
    Massachusetts.
    Baby As You Turn Away.
Your Love Will Save The World.
All The Love In The World.
    I Saw A New Morning.
    Man In The Middle.
    Love Me Please.
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow (this is a cover song they did to honor Carole King).
Video of The Making of Tragedy.
Video, 100 top 10 Songs Written by the BeeGees.
Andy was 12 years younger than Barry and 9 years younger than the twins. He was born in 1958, the year the Bee Gees were established. It made sense for him to start a solo career and join the Bee Gees when he was ready. His first three songs hit number even one time knocking his brothers out of the number one spot.
Please react to Andy Gibb on the Midnight Special singing, I Just Wanna Be Your Everything.
In early 1988 they announced that Andy would be on their next album as a permanent member but sadly he passed away on March 10th 1988 just 5 days after his 30th birthday. Still breaks my heart. Andy was Barry's mini me. They even had identical birthmarks. Other songs of Andy's,
Shadow Dancing. Love Is Thicker Than Water. Everlasting Love.
    Time Is Time. Desire.
(Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away.
    Words.
    Many more.
