One advice I have for people from the diaspora wanting to move to Ghana is that they shouldn't trust everyone because they are from the motherland some people are hungry and will take your money without giving result so if you want a good work done relax make a lot of research ask questions and go to the right places and you'll be ok

I stayed here with my 4 children for 3 months (2012). Under their repatriation programme, I was able to live as a local. My. children were placed in a local school and I did voluntary schoolwork. What I expressed about the whole eco experience was the way they positively helped and influenced the local community ie. planting Acacia trees on the roadside and providing water. Even the encouraging words expressed in the interview of perseverance and testing of faith are most relevant to me now, Give thanks Nana Kwame/Galye 🙏🏿

I'm also a multiple land owner in Ghana. My first purchase was at Nsawam. I started to build immediately as I had some bread. About 5 years later a neighbor was encroaching and I put him to court. I still have the place but after that all my property buys are in northern Ghana. Much less wahala. Much more respect and honesty.

What is the sense in the diaspora getting citizebship and having to go through buying land which you could potentially lose glad i decided to set up business in kenya although i already know the legalities of buying land in kenya is not simple but atleast they have a proper system .

I am a jamaican living in the US and getting ready to purchase my retirement home, I was very interested in moving to Ghana even before all the hype, but after doing some research I refuse to move there because of the rampant thievery going on when trying to purchase real estate there and other parts of Africa. It is upsetting because I feel like people of african decent were kidnapped and brought to the diaspora through no fault of their own. Now we're trying to go back to our homeland and our own people are trying to victimize us all over again. So I for one will be going to Jamaica to purchase my land.

Thinking on this, I think the government needs to implement a system to resolve these issues and have the court rule on all property sales. Maybe they can require a notice board be posted and notice be given to local leaders of land sales. Everyone gets 30 days to respond and make claims known before the final sale is ruled on. If they fail to come forward, then the court approves the sale legally, and grants a deed to the land. If you have responders then a deal is made on how proceeds will be divided. This land issue will prevent large development. Imagine if I buy land for a manufacturing building and then someone can come to say it was partially theirs, and I keep having to pay people that keep coming. Bad for business overall.

Thank you Nana kwame for being so honest in telling us the truth about buying land in Ghana. Many of my friends are encouraging me to buy plots of land because it is cheap. It sound tempting and, if I may say, too good to be true. I am of retirement age and if I were to sell up in England ( in which I am very happy because the Government takes care of me financially, medically and provides for my vulnerability), and rely on someone to build me a house on a plot that is not authentically secure, I could find myself homeless. I will do the sensible thing and visit the country, enjoy the scenery and culture and return back safely to my home, which I have live in for 37 years, and as I say very happy. These projects are for young families, I am in the autumn time of my years. May God (the Higher Being) continue to bless you. You are a man of high morals, integrity and honesty. Blessings

Thank you Nana kwame for being so honest in telling us the truth about buying land in Ghana. Many of my friends are encouraging me to buy plots of land because it is cheap. It sound tempting and, if I may say, too good to be true. I am of retirement age and if I were to sell up in England ( in which I am very happy because the Government takes care of me financially, medically and provides for my vulnerability), and rely on someone to build me a house on a plot that is not authentically secure, I could find myself homeless.
I will do the sensible thing and visit the country, enjoy the scenery and culture and return back safely to my home, which I have live in for 37 years, and as I say very happy.
These projects are for young families, I am in the autumn time of my years.
May God (the Higher Being) continue to bless you. You are a man of high morals, integrity and honesty. Blessings
