You put the weird format version file on a FAT32 usb. By weird format version file I mean for example, I have Gigabyte B360M-D2V and my last version of BIOS is F12a and the bios file's name is B360MD2V.12a I hope this can help you.

He put the F7 file. Of course not much discussion about which motherboard it is. You can tell only because it shows the board along with the BIOS update. I have a different board and my newest available is F5. So again, not really much help.
I found out that flashing the BIOS through the system is the most dangerous one. You can encounter any kernel panic and interrupt it. If you don't have an EEPROM programmer, you may have a hard time recovering it. Some boards may have more BIOS chips as a last resort, or the bootloader asking to insert a USB with a binary file to reflash itself.
The software gives me weird reports like "This Driver cannot be run" or something like that in multiple pop up windows (I'll update tomorrow on what it actually said). But it ran fine, apart from the automatic search not listing ANYTHING on the model list... Manually downloading and setting the program to update worked just fine. Glad to have an update after 4 agonizing years xD
Just wanted to say thank you for the quick tutorial I did indeed update my system BIOS and I am now able to boot all my current RAM sticks without the machine failing to boot, current running them on a mem-test lets hope it passes and I can have all 32GB working.
Will Q-Flash still work if the cpu isn't supported by the current bios? I have a Ryzen 5 3400G cpu that needs the most recent bios on my DS3H WiFi board. I'm still waiting on my ram to show up so I haven't tried to boot it up yet, but the board didn't have the "Ryzen 3000 ready" sticker on it, just the 2000 so I assume I'll need the update.

Guys if you have any problems flashing your MB bios, Try to remove cmos battery for like 5 minutes. Also unplug power cord from your power supply and press power button for few seconds. Then put battery back. Bios should be updated with no problems now. Took me a while to figure out. The system became unstable after unsuccessful flashing.

Any way to trigger Q-Flash on a GIGABYTE B450M S2H that doesn't post? It has no Q-Flash + button or a white USB port and no way to see what's on the screen. The power button turns the CPU fan on, but holding it doesn't turn the system off. The only way is to cut the power. I've tried removing the battery and waiting, jumping the CMOS clear, holding power and reset while booting and even holding bios pins 1 and 6 while booting but nothing changes.

Probably gonna take mine to a pc store to get them to update my bios if my roommate won`t lend me his cpu to update my bios. You could always request a temporary loan boot kit from amd which includes a cheap cpu that you gotta return after 10 days to update your bios as well.

Just got X99P-SLI (Rev 1.0) MB. Serial #155000021370. CPU in this new build is Intel i7-6850K. Have been told I need at least F22 BIOS to recognize the 6850K. MB may have an older BIOS but I don't know. Can you tell me based on serial number? If it is older BIOS, suggestions? my Gigabyte B450 micro ITX board is not saving the bios setting, I save and when I enter the bios again the setting is not saved, now it says " select a proper boot device " even though the bootable disk with windows is connected and recognized by the Bios and it boot normally in other pc, I updated the Bios using Qflash, I believe that is causing my problem....if somebody sees this please, give me a hand.

Dude, I got the brand new B550 AORUS PRO AC and I think I screwed up. I NEED HELP! I started watching a video similar to this one and the man said that you have to install the BIOS updates one by one, not install the latest version right away. It came with version F2, and then came version F3, F4 and F11. I installed F3 and everything went very well, no problems. Then when I restarted to install the F4 version, the BIOS didn't open, and a day has passed, and it doesn't open. I don't know what happens, the screen stays black. Absolutely nothing comes out, and then it's my turn to turn the system off and on. The system does start up perfectly.
Ok I have a old gigabyte GA H55M S2V motherboard I have bios F2. Version. I would like to install 16 gig 1600 ram on this board using two 8 gig sticks. I can not get this ram to work on the F2 version so I was told to update it to F4. Could I get specific help with this thanx

Tip : FAT32 usb format, ALWAYS update in steps (version after version until the latest). It is the safest way.

Just pressing a key during startup won't do. YOU MUST PRESS IT REPEATEDLY.

Always use the latest version and format the usb drive with fat 32

do not use the app center!!!! it will entirely delete bios and all relevant and related programs for you motherboard including drivers

for your cpu you need to update your bios at version f40.
Probably gonna take mine to a pc store to get them to update my bios if my roommate won`t lend me his cpu to update my bios. You could always request a temporary loan boot kit from amd which includes a cheap cpu that you gotta return after 10 days to update your bios as well.

What if will happen if i installed a cpu without doing bios update first in an unsupported motherboard without bios flashing? Lastly what if i unplug usb which contain bios update during bios flashing process in a gigabyte motherboard?please answer .

Just got X99P-SLI (Rev 1.0) MB. Serial #155000021370. CPU in this new build is Intel i7-6850K. Have been told I need at least F22 BIOS to recognize the 6850K. MB may have an older BIOS but I don't know. Can you tell me based on serial number? If it is older BIOS, suggestions?
Also, don't think this MB has Q-Flash+ where I could update BIOS without CPU installed.

my Gigabyte B450 micro ITX board is not saving the bios setting, I save and when I enter the bios again the setting is not saved, now it says " select a proper boot device " even though the bootable disk with windows is connected and recognized by the Bios and it boot normally in other pc, I updated the Bios using Qflash, I believe that is causing my problem....if somebody sees this please, give me a hand.
I tried everything but my bios is not updating it self. I'm using z390 gaming x 1151 chipset motherboard. It's currently running on f7 but the recent update is f10c but it's not updating
Works great to bad it can't see any drive or thumb drive except the original install drive. All other drives say no drive present (UEFI or Legacy). :( Updated to F25 H110-D3A and I can get in the bios but that's about it. Can't flash-back, can't update, won't boot just loops the bios boot. :(

Hi whenever I download the newest bios update (f10) for my AB350-Gaming 3 it's not in a .exe file, but a compressed file. How or where do I get the .exe file?
When i update the BIOS with a USB, ¿Do i need to have a 6th generation processor to do it?
If not, Can i just install the 7th generation processor , then update the BIOS? Or i have to update the BIOS first and then install the processor?

Just a gigabyte b360m d3h, and the ethernet port is not working, and my mic ports in the back are not working either. Would I have to update the bios for that to work? or did I not DL the drivers right?

I started watching a video similar to this one and the man said that you have to install the BIOS updates one by one, not install the latest version right away.
It came with version F2, and then came version F3, F4 and F11. I installed F3 and everything went very well, no problems. Then when I restarted to install the F4 version, the BIOS didn't open, and a day has passed, and it doesn't open. I don't know what happens, the screen stays black. Absolutely nothing comes out, and then it's my turn to turn the system off and on. The system does start up perfectly.
My PC has been restarting for 30 min now, I can't fix it, thanks!
