Shoot,I wanted to see what 4s was like!😂 no surprise though, my slash 4x4 can’t make it though a 6000 mah pack without breaking or wearing out something! I guess that’s the fun, run it, break it, fix it, repeat! It’s cheaper to fix than my 2003 corvette
I'm in the process of making my cheap slash an ultimate basher. I'm slowly upgrading parts as they start to break. trial and error. It's fun. This weeks upgrade... Tekno driveshafts; Front, center, rear.
@@RCKnockout if you read Amazon reviews on the Tekno driveshafts, most of them are bashing on MIPs and Traxxas CVDs (no pun intended) After doing a bit of research, I came to the conclusion that, driveshaft upgrades are hit or miss when it comes to other brands. I hope these Tekno driveshafts live up to their reviews.
@@Mr.Ramirez95 hopefully they do man! Sometimes it’s hard to know what will work best for you….some people have good luck with one brand and bad luck with another….

Wheelie master! I'm surprised you didn't run it with the body off to see if the tire ballooning was coming into contact with the body, try running with the body off and see if you hear that same crunching noise
I do have a problem with those same driveshafts, the pins that hold the u-joints together spin out from centrifugal force and wondering how you get them to stay in!
This hobby sums it up in two sentences: 1/5 cars don't break, but the time to play is 10 minutes 1/8 and 1/10 cars break, but have a longer playing time So the only solution is to rest from the Lipo batteries and turn the hobby to solid batteries And then the best cars from my point of view are 1/5
Is their any drawback to gearing lower? The top speed is i.preszive but u was thinking of going 11 pinion and 54 spur to help not stress out the system with this mamba 3200kv 4s set up. Any concerns I should know a out gearing lower?
For the most part gearing lower isn’t gonna cause extra strain…..the power system is gonna be a lot happier and it’ll stay cooler too…..the added torque could cause more strain when launching at full throttle….but that’s about it
Would that sensored model line (with a lower KV rating) work well on the Summit for crawling and high speed duty, or would a more dedicated (traditional sensored) crawler combo be better suited to the massive Summit?
No this combo wouldn’t be good for a Summit….it’s a 1/10 scale system…weight limit is 7.5lbs……Summit probably weighs at least 10-12 pounds…..you’ll wanna look into a 1/8 system
What about the SmartSense feature to put on the Summit? For slower trailing with occasional high speed bashing, do you think this hybrid sensored setup would be better than a full sensored rig? Seems clear that the sensorless mode delivers the top end goods really well, but didn't get a clear idea of how well the sensored part works. I can see it starts off really smooth, but if u go just a hair faster, is it already out of sensored mode? Guess what I'm asking is, is it a basher motor first and a crawler motor second or can it be a legit crawler motor? Thanks again!!!
@@joviedo536 nice! Hopefully it works out for you….one complaint I do have with this Castle esc is the very flimsy “On/Off switch”….which has broken on mine
Good video but man just take the body off and re-run you will have your answer for that sound 😉 as for the diffs M.I.P. for me all the way in my slash also in my center drive line crawler. Good luck my friend and I'm sub to your channel bring them on. I'm from Qubec Canada Frenchie lolll
If you think you have a problem that can be diagnosed by eliminating the possible failure point why not just remove the body and confirm instead of continuously repeating "you think its probably the body rubbing the Badlands" In 1min that the body could have been removed and a launch with hard right and left under power and youd have known. I'm not trying to be deliberately disrespectful to you but I'm a mechanic by trade and seeing someone RTF( run to failure) drives me nutty.
Great run! I was thinking it was the body too. Can't wait until you get this back up and running.
Thanks man! Yeah I think it was just the body…..the Slash 4x4 diffs are actually pretty good…..I’ve never had an issue with them before

I believe it’s an Ovonic 6500mah 4s pack
awesome video! what kind of drive drive axles do you have? they look beefy but not as bad as the MIP HDs. thats what im rocking
They’re some Hardened Steel Driveshafts off of Ebay

I don’t think the drivetrain would hold up well to 6s
