    We used to have to mount our steering servos with double sided sticky tape I wouldn't be bothered by not having the cage at all, that's normal where I come from. In the late 80's people got into racing pan cars indoors on carpet tracks, the flat graphite chassis was a good platform for tape for anything, but the steering servo was always breaking free. Nobody wanted to drill holes their expensive chassis. I think you did exactly what you should have done.

    • @RCKnockout

      Yeah using foam tape definitely isn’t nearly as secure

  • @logiqalone8249

    You did the right thing by getting rid of the cage. I’ve been tinkering with RCs for a long time and whenever you’re modifying things, you’ll run into these types of problems… you just have to get creative which you did. Dremels come in handy.

    Tip!! If you have to use double side sticky tape don't use foam . Use the clear stuff clean with alcohol an wont come off In mud an water. If you buy in store instead of hobby shop it's called vhb tape. It's the same as hobby shop except you get a whole roll instead of 1/4 roll for same price. Great video

      I’m sure it’ll be fine. I just thought I would let you know about that. Research and more research.

    You could have adjusted the motor where it does squeeze the sensor harness

    How much was the motor and esc?

    • @RCKnockout
      @RCKnockout  2 года назад +1

      I think the motor was a little under $100 and the esc was $140…..that was with the plug presoldered though….I think it goes for around $120 otherwise

    If you're just going to repair it to take it out and bash/trash it, couldn't you just buy a new Slash for less money than the upgrades?
