  • This is a 4 day, 3 night backpacking trip on the Kalalau Trail along Kauai's Napali Coast. We also explored up the Kalalau Valley and swam to Honopu Beach. This a very difficult and dangerous hike and it should be attempted by anyone!

How Long is Crawlers Ledge ???

The part people refer to as crawlers ledge is only a minute or two long. But throughout the trail, there are a lot of long sections of very narrow trail next to steep cliffs. Most hikers would probably agree the sections before and after crawlers ledge are more sketchy due to loose footing.

Being dropped off by boat is totally illegal. Please respect to rules and this sacred place!

Looking at the DLNR website, it only says that commercial activity is illegal. Those with permits may be dropped off-shore, and swim so long as they are not paying for that ride. We have a friend with a boat who dropped them off.
