KAUAI | KALALAU TRAIL | The first two miles (easy part)

This video is of mine (The Boomer) and Lexie's (The Millennial) hike on the Kalalau Trail. It is only the easy part of the trail, just to the beach. Our intention was to go to the waterfall but with the heavy rain and mud we decided that wasn't a good idea. But, it was still beautiful along the Napali coast.

At the age of 67, I am blessed to travel, hike, and be physically active.
Just a few years ago, I was suffering from severe knee pain and I couldn’t stand or walk very long without sitting down. I went to see an orthopedic doctor hoping he would have a solution to my problem. He offered his recommendation… a total knee replacement. Not being a fan of the surgical knife, I decided to search for alternative methods. Over a period of time I have been able to find different natural methods that have resulted in practically no knee pain. I am now able to stay on my feet for hours and hike many miles without a problem. I still get tired though, and I haven’t figured that one out yet.
I feel like I have been given a gift and I want to encourage you. We founded The Senior Trekker as a means to encourage others, especially seniors (55+ people), to become more active. I know that a more active lifestyle results in more than a healthier life, it leads to a better mental attitude, positive self worth, and longevity.
Now, I know that due to various medical conditions some of you will not be able to do many of these hikes. No problem. Let me do the heavy lifting. I’ll do the huffing, puffing, whining, and complaining so that you’ll feel like you’re there. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy.
Why do we do it?
Cause we’re not dead yet!
