  • This is a 5 day, 4 night backpacking trip in Washington's Olympic National Park. I backpacked through the Hoh Rainforest to Blue Glacier but the rain and fog limited my views. I also visited Hoh Lake which was spectacular.

Same 2 places I stayed back in the 70s . Differences no Cannisters , no reservations but permit at trailhead and a Lot more of Blue Glacier .
They now require bear Cannisters on certain Olympic Coastal hikes not because of the Black Bears on the beach but because of the Racoons , they figured out how to get into hanging Ursacks.

Mick Dodge is a hippy ex marine who lived in the hoh rainforest and had a reality/survival show on national geographic. He would make his clothes and lived in hollow tree trunks. But the show is no more. Mick is too old to be living in the woods full time and is now living in California.
