Materials:
- simply DK yarn (100g) x2 (what i used: www.paintboxyarns.com/yarns/s...)
- Crochet hook (3.5 or 4mm)
- Darning needle
- Scissors
- Pins/markers (optional)

dc: double crochet
sl st: slip stitch
ch: chain
og: the orignal color
new: color of star
Measurements for size small:
1. ch 45
2. ch 3, dc 5th ch from hook
3. ch 1, skip a st, dc
4. continue for 13 rows
5. row 1 of star pattern: 6 og, 1 new, 8 og, 1 new, 6 og
6. row 2: 6 og, 2 new, 6 og, 2 new, 6 og
7. row 3: 6 og, 4 new, 2 og, 4 new, 6 og
8. row 4: 8 og, 8 new, 8og
9. row 5: increase sides, 11 og, 6 new, 11 og
10. row 6: increase, 12 og, 6 new, 12 og

Back panel:
1. ch 45, ch 3, dc 5th ch from hook

How to sew:
sew together the two straps on top
count 8 rows from the top of the shirt (not including the straps) and start sewing both sides from there
leave 8 rows open on the bottom
Side straps:
count four rows and sl st the yarn and ch 45 (repeat 3 more times)
My daughter sent me the link to make this for her. It came out great! They are an XL and I just measured where you said to and it worked. Thank you and keep up the cool videos and patterns to print out. You are very talented and people would pay for your original design patterns.!
i really wish that this pattern could be written a little bit better because some parts of the pattern are confusing and not explained thorougly, and its really frustrating having to keep starting over again because of it. nothing against you at all, ireally appreciate you sharing the pattern but i hope you understand that it's difficult to follow especially in : 1. row 4 of the front panel, you say that its 8,8,8 but that is equal to 24 stitches and even the previous row only has 22 so that is confusing. 2. the increase sides is not explained well and its a bit sped up and hard to figure out what you mean. i hope you understand this, and thank you :(
i would def recommend practicing increases on a smaller project or a scrap piece so that it makes more sense, there’s a lot of other videos that explain it really well!
@@88_l I don’t think it’s that they can’t do increases, I think it’s that they don’t know how to do increases on this type of stitch
@@Lualikescats they know it’s double crochet stitches…that’s why it wasn’t necessary to specify…

I think it’s a matter of placement. Like they don’t know where to to place the double crochet. Does it go on the column and in the space between as well??

I just finished a top using this as a guide and I'm so happy with the resultttt!!! I tweaked some parts and made the star with 2 yarns of the same color so there will be fewer yarns to weave in at the end. Overall the star diagram is really helpful. I finished it!! For my base color I used a purple pink gradient, and for the star color I used a minty blue with sparkles. I lined the neck, arm openings, and bottom with the blue too. It's super cute and comfy!

edit;;; i finished it!! (well the front side) i didnt have enough yarn for the other part lol💔💔 but i used brown and green for this. i decided to add ruffles on the buttom cuz they make it look cuter!! maybe ill add more details?? who knows lol

Bro… when this video came out I finished my star pattern just by looking at the reference in your previous video. I made mine with crocheting the star and then connecting it to the rest. (There would be too much strings if I did it the way u did) But it turned out pretty good! Thank you for that lovely idea

it’s really similar to this tutorial ! i just used triple crochets, sewed down the sides, and added sleeves (which was like 4 rows around the arms holes)

i found it hard too, something i did was to do the double crochets on top of each other for the entire graph(for both colors) so that the graph made more sense
I found it confusing at first since I’m new to crochet but after looking at a few videos, I found this to be really easy. And the graph for the star was really helpful.

I did the entire star before you said to crochet the doubles on top of each other 😭maybe my 2nd try will be better but it still looks okay
hi! whenever i try to build up so that i can make the 13 rows in the beginning (without the star pattern) my work always drops stitches? i counted and it was 25 in the beginning and one i was three rows up it had dropped to 23?? i’m not sure home to fix this
