    I loved this tutorial!! Mine turned out very baggy and oversized but its most likely my yarn weight and i prefer my sweaters that way anyway! If you do any other tutorials with this type of stitch in a sweater i would love to see how you weave in your ends i always struggle with that the most 😅

    written instructions (sorry if these are badly written or unclear it is mostly just for my own use because i find written patterns easier to follow so i did not put a lot of thought into this lol)
    ch 101
    dc into 8th st from the hook
    ch 2, skip 2, dc into 3rd st
    repeat to the end of the row (33st)
    ch 5, turn work and dc into loop
    ch 2 and dc into next loop
    repeat for 9 more rows (11 rows total)
    add st marker in the middle (16st on each side) then mark 8st from the middle on both sides. the star should not reach outside of the second set of markers
    [for the star:
    continue crocheting normally up to the first st marker
    crochet additional 3st from that point (these are the blank spaces on the star grid)
    color change to color of star
    dc into stitch rather than loop for the star
    color change back to main color
    (and basically just continue following the grid until you have your star)
    there should be 29 rows (10 main color 19 star rows)]
    crochet 5 more rows of the main color
    crochet 12st on each side and repeat for 4 rows
    to make the back panel repeat but skip the star and just continue using your main color for those rows
    place panels right sides facing in, measure armholes and mark where you want them to end/how wide you want then to be
    slst both sides up to the st markers
    slst shoulders together
    [for sleeves:
    find armpit (at the seam) and ch5
    dc into loop and ch2
    continue around sleeve
    sc into first loop to connect
    ch5 and continue for desired length (video uses 39 rows)
    when you reach the desired length sc into the first loop of your current row and fasten off]
    final additional step: admire your star B)

    Hii, i keep doing the 96 chains and i found that it end up with 32 holes, but also that the half of 32 is 16, the count you used for guiding yourself for the middle of the star, so i don't really know if with only 32 holes it would work :c

    • @ramenjeantv

      Try chaining 99!

    • @tmarie648
      @tmarie648 Год назад +2

      exactly I had to start over twice because I realized it was 32 because 96 divided by 3 (it takes 3 chains per loop) is 32 so she must have meanr to say 99?? But with 32 holes the middle measurement is the same so I really don't know either and I'm still not finished with it

    • @kdksmom
      @kdksmom Год назад +2

      I believe she says 16 on each side of the center point. 16+16+center=33
      I thought her approach to the starting chain was interesting. She asks you to chain 96, and then chain 5 more. This says to me that the multiple is 3+5. 96/3=32+5 chains for the first loop. 101 total chains for 33 holes. Very well done @ramenjeantv

      Right? I’m so vonfused

    • @jazztheghost0
      @jazztheghost0 5 месяцев назад

      The tying knot and cutting method works *as long as* you knot every string on the same side. Determine which side of the front panel you want to be the back, then that side is where you want to have all your knots.
      Basically, use a crochet hook to carry all the tiny strings through the loops, so they're resting on the back side, *then* tie and cut them :)
      I hope that makes sense!!! It consolidates the knots so they only show up on the back of the panel!!!

      @@Namee727 Hi sorry Im a little confused I have tried 104 and couldn’t get past 22 so if I do 99 i wouldn’t get past 20. Ive seen many other people in the comments try 99 and it didn’t work for them. I will definitely try of course. Thank you for the help.

      Are you sure you are counting correctly? Count all the double crochets, including the starting chain. Make sure you are only skipping 2 chains. 96/3=32+starting chain
      If you look at your foundation chain, it should look like starting chain, 1 2 dc, 1 2 dc, all the way to the final dc

      @@kdksmom hello yes. Trust me I want to make this so bad. I’ve checked my counting over and over and over. I even got my bf to check my counting he said that it wasn’t adding up to what is in the video even though I had made exactly what she says. This isn’t the first tutorial of hers I’ve tried making and every time it’s not the same. She says make x amount I do that to the T and nope it’s shrinks up or it doesn’t look the same which could just be me but it always comes out wrong.
