    @lunaticalix 7 месяцев назад +14

    After many tries, failed attempts and calculations, I'll tell you how to increase the size.
    If u want to increase the horizontal length, add 3 chains. For example 53ch+ 3ch+....
    The chains u add must come in 2times of the chains u made because it is fundamental for the squares you'll do later.
    So, 53chs+6chs.
    And for the squares, the numbers of squares must come in odd numbers. like 17, 19 etc. because it's for the heart pattern you'll do.
    Hope it helps :)

    PART ONE
    1)Chain 53
    2)Single crochet 52 (hook into 2nd chain)
    3) start front panel, start each mesh row by chaining 5, skip two and then double crochet into the next stitch.
    4)chain 2, skip 2 and dc into the next stitch, continue this for the row
    5) if you use this exact, it will have 17 rows across/ 17 squares,
    6)continue this process until the first row is done
    7)on the last square, do the same, to start the next row, chain 5 to start a new row, and skip 2 and double crochet in, then continue making Norma squares- chain 2, skip 2, double crochet into it.
    8) she did 5 rows, so as many as you want for the length
    9) now we start the heart (4:30)
    10) whatever row you are on, chain 5 skip 2 dc into, then continue and chain 2, skip 2 until you have 8 squares (4;55)
    11) you should be in the middle of your work, now we fill in this square to make the point of the heart,
    12) to fill in the square you are going to double crochet 2 times in the middle of the square, and then make one more so it is the “piller”,
    13) for the rest of the row, mirror the other side and make 8 squares again
    14) (5:56) chain 5, skip 2 dc, make 7 squares in total (think like a grid to help you)
    15) fill in 3 squares and make sure that you are aligned with the previous row, (9 dc)
    16) make 7 more squares, crochet 2, skip 2, dc
    17) row 9- 6 mesh squares, chain 5, skip 2, dc, then chain 2, skip 2 and dc, now fill in 5 squares in the middle, dc , (15 total)
    18) next do 6 mesh squares, mirror the other side
    19) make 5 mesh squares, then chain 1, skip one chain and then chain into the next stitch to fill in half a square, next dc 18x
    20) once you are on the 18 dc, it will make half a square, chain 1, skip one and then make 5 mesh squares and it should mirror the other side) (9:30 ish)

    • @amyclark3955
      @amyclark3955 Год назад

      PART 2-
      Starting at 9:41-
      1) For row 11, repeat the same steps as in the last row,
      2) Row 12 fill in 5 squares in the middle, so 6 mesh squares, and fill in 15 dc,
      3) row 13 - leave one square open in the middle, 10:23- I recommend watching for this one part, make sure everything is aligned, it is also very complicated to write out and I don’t want it wrong! Done with the heart!
      4) row 14- 16 make mesh rows (11:40 for what it looks like)

    • @amyclark3955
      @amyclark3955 Год назад

      STRAPS -
      1) for the first strap, stay attached to the panel, (11:55)
      1.5) chain 2 skip 2, double crochet, make a sloped part for the sleeve so it curves in, chain 2 skip 2, make 3 mesh squares.
      2) chain 1, skip 2 and double crochet to make the other side of the strap slope for your neck,
      3) turn your work, chain 2, skip one and dc, makethree squares,
      4) row three flip work, 2 mesh squares, chain 5 skip two, dc, 2 chain, skip 2 and dc. Start sloping chain 1- skip 2 , dc, chain 2, skip 1, dc, mesh 2 squares,
      5) 4 rows should be done, rows 5-10, make it adjusted to your body, and make three mesh squares in each, tie off and work on next strap,
      6) only difference is you tie on your string and start in the corner peice
      7) go to the time 14:39 and she has written out the whole pattern for the other arm, now you should have the front panel and sleeve thingys done

    • @amyclark3955

    Hi! Starting this as my second crochet project, following it the first time with cotton yarn and following the pattern, but, i have some fluffy yarn left from my first project that would be SO CUTE as one of these tops. My question is, does anybody have any advice for turning this into a long sleeved top? Amazing tutorial by the way, so clear, easy to follow, and absolutely adorable! 🤍

    maybe this is sort of a begginer's question but
    when double crocheting, should I roll the yarn from behind the needle to the front, instead of from the front to behind? janie almost did this at 5:15, but then i guess she corrected herself

    • @alyssadahlke8074
      @alyssadahlke8074 2 года назад +1

      the direction you yarn over doesn’t really matter, but i suggest to go in the same direction that she does or whichever feels more natural

    I’d say I’m quite an experienced crocheter but I’m so confused! I keep ending up with an extra two stitches at the end of my row 1 :( I tried to go down to 50, 51 or 52 foundation chains but to no avail… never getting 17 squares cleanly 🥲
