    So happy that he's a Canuck! Yet, when he was drafted we didn't even know who he was! We had our eyes on other guys. When we saw his stats and highlights, we all said he was too small. Great player, but just too willowy. Then we watched him tear it up in the Swedish league. The excitement started to grow. When he won the championship and top honors, we stared to get giddy. To see he eclipsed all previous Swedish legends, we were thrilled. Then, to see how he has started the season has given all us Vancouver fans such pleasure. His talent at both end of the ice, how he handle the tough going, how he never quits, it's all just so impressive. Not taking anything away from Bo, Brock, or any other Canucks (we love them all). But Pettersson's arrival has almost made us all forget about the loss of our franchise players, the Sedins. I do wish we could have seen him on a line with them, but let's not get greedy! Petey is a superstar already. We already just LOVE that kid! How lucky we are to have him. I hope our team will stand up for him when the time comes again!

      I actually hoped we would draft him. I got ripped apart on Canucks forums until his people started watching him destroy the SHL, Then fans who wanted Benning fired all of a sudden were calling him a genius. He is reffered to as an alien out here and for good reason. Kid is from another planet. Just wait till EK and Panerin are here nxt season.

    You know what I love the most? That hardly anyone is doing the McDavid vs Crosby vs Ovi vs Whoever comparisons constantly with Petterson. Petterson didn't have the hype coming into the NHL that those other guys had, and I think everyone, no matter your favourite team, is just appreciating how good this kid that flew completely under the radar is.
    Also, it's not just that he racked up a bunch of lucky bounces and tips... No, he is a small kid, with a laser. Taking incredible shots from anywhere in the offensive zone, and big booming slapshots that remind me of clips from the 90s or something. Hahaha It's just so fun to watch him play. :)

    • @bowlinggod99
      @bowlinggod99 5 лет назад

      If you watched him at all last year in the SHL then you wouldn't be surprised by his play at all this year! Mind you I didn't think he would start this fast because it usually takes him about 5-10 games to get going in a new league, but I was at least expecting 35-40 goals and 60-70 points out of him this year, and it looks like those numbers are easily reachable!! So maybe to some he "flew under the radar", but he has been on my radar (and many others')since Vancouver first drafted him!

    WoW! Fun To Watch! If you're on the ice with him, instantly you are looking like a star yourself... An excellent investment - Makes ALL Around him better. Even your Goalie looks way better. Can't ever pay him too much; And Petey wanted to come here!... djamesw.

    I kind of want to see Gaudette play with Pettersson. Gaudette in an offensive zone and find sneaky Pete or open Gold, which will create a good chance.

      Fifth overall in 2017. He exploded a year ago and was named the SHL MVP as the youngest player ever.

    We'll see. He looks good so far, but I remember this time last season when we were all being told that Boeser might be the next true goal-scorer in the NHL.. This season? 4 goals on 37 shots in 13 games... Both are undoubtedly going to be at least decent players, but I'm not labeling Pettersson as a "superstar" after just a dozen NHL games.

    Just asking, who’s the commentator? (That wasn’t Shorthouse) He’s pretty good, may I say above average. The one in the Van vs Cal in the beginning.

      If there ever was a comparison to be made, it's Pavel Datsyuk. Pettersson is producing offense at a nutty rate but the thing that really has fans going crazy is he competes in all 3 zones. One of his goals came off a shot block. He has Nazzy's shot, the Sedin creativity and Datsyuk's all around game.

      @@JeremyCuddles Really, you're seeing the goals now, but Petterson's playmaking is better than his shot, which is hard to believe, but you could see in the Avalanche game which was Brock's first good game of the season and the first game Pettersson had someone he could trust to snipe the puck on his line, he made some crazy good plays. He sees the ice like noone on the Canucks ever have. The Sedins always knew where each other were without looking...Pettersson knows where everyone on the ice is without looking.
